I've actually improved my boxing at the gym because of your videos. You make fights seem like each fighter is a chess player and his hands and feet are his chess pieces. I've kinda made this comparison in my head while fighting to make mental battles easier for me where my jabs are my pawns, my hooks are my knights, my bishops are my straights and my rooks are uppercuts. I've placed my footwork comparable to the queen and my head as the king (where headbutts to their eyelids can be a cheeky way of winning through cut stoppage lol). It has made sparring more fun and so much easier for me to calculate risk to reward ratios in my punches to the point where others in my gym have gotten better too!
In regards to Ryan Garcia vs. Gervonta “Tank” Davis, I honestly predict that “Tank” Davis will get the “Win” by TKO. Why? I respect both champions, and the reason that I predict Gervonta “Tank” Davis winning by TKO is he’s a smarter boxer that will stay defensively responsible and set up traps (like he did vs. Luis Garcia and Rolly Romero). “Tank” has excellent power, hand speed, and is fundamentally sound. Also, Ryan Garcia was knocked down once and came back to get the “Win” and defeat his opponent. Just think about it…If “Tank” landed that shot, Ryan Garcia would be asleep.
Have you done a video where you talk about when Tank stops being cautious and starts to press the attack and slip shots? It so clear in his last few fights. It's almost as if he's calculated all the data and decided that the risk is worth the reward. When he's moving back in the early rounds, a lot of people are tricked into believing he's "running scared". What are your thoughts?
You get it man… Since he is shorter or smaller than most opponents he plays David to their Goliath.. mentally… then he turns into Goliath himself when he catches them slipping.

I told everyone in the chat room. Be patient. Tank davis is learning Hector Garcia. But in my opinion. I think tank should get more busy in the early rounds. Tank davis, a master at his skills.
I find it amazing how boxers have so much going on in their head while having to react quickly, whenever I spar I feel like the only thing going through my mind is the fear of getting hit hard (I'm still new)
First and foremost, God bless you and thank you Hidden Gem 💎 😎🔥 for another intelligent analysis of fight strategy (Gervonta “Tank” Davis vs. Hector Luis Garcia). Interestingly, since I’m a southpaw boxer and primarily a switch hitter blessed with an excellent jab, thank you for mentioning Tank Davis’ jab to the body and straight left to the head (upper chest/chin). That’s effective yet it can be risky. Since I box with a high guard defense (like Winky Wright and Dmitry Bivol) and stay defensively responsible, I will bait my opponents and sparring partners with the same tactic. It works, but like anything in boxing 🥊, you have to mix it up. God bless you Hidden Gem 💎 🥊and 2023 is and will be awesome year 😎 🔥🙏🏾. 🥊🥊🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💖✝️
How do you notice this stuff I wanna know how I can study film like this but idk how to it’s even crazier cause you know all this stuff but you don’t box much yourself (not a diss) how can I approach this Ill give up anything to notice this stuff
Hector Garcia did not box well. Hector didn't Probe often to control and manage Gervonta's weight. He would just take steps off the line while letting Tank come forward. Hector also committed to punches without probing which made it easier for Gervonta to counter. For good sake, Gervonta keeps a high guard up majority of the time, begging for his weight to be controlled but He tor didn't. Rolly honestly did better because he controlled the space with punches as Hector didn't control at all.
Great breakdown. I'm a big tank davis fan and I've probably watched all of his fights 5+ times. That being said, I notice that an older tank seems to be a little different than he use to be. Can't quite put my finger on it but if I had to describe it. I would say he seems less fluid in his motions and he's also more flat footed than he use to be. For example the padraza fight he seemed much different. Is this just him being older? His athleticism use to jump off the screen and it doesn't seem to anymore.
I used to think tank was a one trick pony but I have realized after watching his last few fights that he is downloading openings and remaining patient. It was even more obvious when he fought rolly. Tank is a bonafide assassin.
Nobody going to beat Tank in a brawl. They will have to fight all 12 rounds strategically and picking their shots in hopes to not get caught with Tanks power. And hopefully in the end they did enough to come close to a win against him.
Will Tank be able to take advantage of Ryan closing his eyes when he punches or would Ryan's speed be too much for him? I know there are other factors for both but I was wondering if that's possible based on how Tank analyzes opponents.
I was doubtful of Tank before this fight. He definitely proved that he is more than just a power puncher. Tank showed he can box and break down his opponents.
Great video, this is why I would love to see Tank vs Gary Russell Jr. Gary was ring side calling some of the same things you saw. I think with his speed, jab and counterpunching ability Gary would capitalize on Tank's slow start. Also Gary is a phone booth fighter so I don't think he would get nervous when Tank applies pressure as he's the faster boxer I think he counters and frustrates Tank the entire fight. Tank will always have a punchers chance but I think his power is not only physical I think it's mental as he's always coming forward and counter's your attack until he breaks your will to fight and then he starts landing the big shoots.I don't see that happening to Gary or Antunne Russell. Can you do a break down of their last fights?
Thanks. I did a video on Gary Russell vs Mark Magsayo. Has Gary healed from his shoulder injury? That was pretty serious. He might be too small to keep Tank off him too
@@HiddenGemBOX he’s back in the gym training. I think Gary learned a lot from the lose to Loma who was at least 135-140 night of the fight. I think JoJo Diaz, King Tug and even Magsayo tried to come in heavy to over power him but his speed and ring IQ nullified their size advantage. Tank doesn’t use his jab and they are about an inch or less height wise apart, Tank does have a long reach for his size but he doesn’t use it as you see from your video. Gary would take advantage of him stepping in and he does have power to hurt Tank. After sparring Gary last year Shakur admitted Gary hit him the hardest he’s ever been hit and that’s including sparring Tank. I just wish we get to see it
