I'm so jealous. I've been wanting to take a coast-to-coast Amtrak trip again since my last one…..in 1998. I sure hope I can do that again soon……only First Class this time……..
Dont get me wrong. I love trains.. I have done the Asian Oriental Express from Sing to B'kok via Penang Nice. I have also done California Zypher.. Yes. But ur vid leaves something to be desired
+Yeongcf Each train route is different. The Southwest Chief travels mainly through the desert lands of New Mexico, Arizona, and southern California, so the scenery isn't as dramatic as on some other routes, like the California Zephyr, which goes through some of the canyons and mountains of Colorado, Utah, and northern California, or the Empire Builder that climbs through the Cascades. Still, I enjoyed the desert scenery when I was on the Southwest Chief.
+Yeongcf ... I thought the videos were very well done. Completely different scenery of what you would see while on the California Zephyr or something in Asia. The Southwest Chief is traveling through a different part of our country. It's also on the same route of the famous Santa Fe Super Chief which was the train of choice of early Hollywood and Broadway stars of stage, screen, radio and TV.
Thanks for the ride! This is on my bucket list. Take a cross country train trip from east to west coast. Very cool!
Great spotlight of the trip, Chicago to Fullerton in three hours.
I bet that rocking back and forth can put one to sleep real easy :-)?
