I bet the Shaham-Anthony home sounds quite lovely when they get to talking, and carrying on nice long conversations, in their native tongue of Violin...
Cómo española que soy, me emociona hasta la lágrima ver la Maravillosa interpretación que hacen estos dos grandes genios de _"Navarra"_ Pablo Sarasate, _ Gil Shahan y Adele Anthony. 🎶🎼🎼🎵🎵🎵👍👍
Just for your reference in case it's not already provided in other comments, here's the biography of Adele Anthony from Wikipedia: "Adele Anthony was born in Singapore as the daughter of Alphonse Jivaras Anthony, the founding concertmaster of the Singapore Symphony Orchestra.[2] She began to play the violin at the age of two and a half when the family settled in Tasmania. She subsequently attended Dernancourt Primary School, South Australia, and studied violin in Adelaide with Lyndall Hendrickson and Beryl Kimber. In her high school years, she attended Pembroke School, Kensington and Saint Ignatius'College Athelstone. At age 13, in 1984, Anthony was the youngest winner of the ABC Instrumental and Vocal Competition,[3] (now known as the ABC Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards), performing the Violin Concerto by Jean Sibelius with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra. She was later the winner of the 1996 Carl Nielsen International Violin Competition. She subsequently studied with Dorothy DeLay at the Juilliard School in New York for eight years.[4] Her recordings include Philip Glass's Violin Concerto No. 1 (1999/2000 on Naxos Records), Arvo Pärt's Tabula Rasa with Gil Shaham, Neeme Järvi and the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra (on Deutsche Grammophon) and Ross Edwards' Concerto for Violin and Orchestra, Maninyas / Sibelius's Violin Concerto in D minor with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra conducted by Arvo Volmer (Canary Classics CC09). She is married to violinist Gil Shaham. They have three children.[1]" Here's the link: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adele_Anthony
Grandesmusicos, thank you for providing this wonderful and joyful rendition of Navarra to the public! However, it is biased and wrong to include an extensive biography of Gil Shaham, playing 2nd violin here and not even mention the accomplished 1st violinist Adele Anthony. Yes she’s Gil’s wife but does that mean she’s not worthy of a mention? I really hope you correct this omission!
You are correct and I do not know what is wrong with people's pro male bias, not using their ears, brains and staying present to listen and read, learn and recognize her here specifically.
@@audreyepstein8096 Thank you for your reply! It's four years since I made this comment and I'm very disappointed this was never addressed by Grandesmusicos!
Nobody bothered to mention Adele Anthony who is his wife. She is of Indian/Chinese parentage. Father is a violinist taught by my teacher. He married a Hong Kong nurse. Adele won prizes as well(Nielsen). What a discrimination. Female and coloured.
Sean Brown that’s because in the other versions, the violinists have no chemistry with each other, not to mention they each have ego the size of Mount Everest lol. So they have little interest in playing “with” each other. Rather they are too busy trying to outshine each other
Lol, it does. Mexican music student here. That section is a 3/4 rythm and that style of orchestration is used by many Mexican orchestras (Including National and Mineria) when orchestrating mariachi songs. Also, Huapango de Moncayo has a very similar orchestration, so that also.
Bravo to both here, much enjoyed - including Adele Anthony's playing too! This was not mentioned above as I see pictured. She is not a soloist like he but not to slight, please be fair.
Adele Anthony is very much a soloist. She was also a child prodigy and performed the Sibelius violin concerto with the QSO at 13 and won the Carl Nielssen International Violin Solo Competition at 26, as well as many other international prizes. She is just as good a soloist as her husband, Gil Shaham. Read her Wikipedia page! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adele_Anthony
One day I'll find someone who looks at me the way Gil Shaham looks at Adele
I’m sure guys look at you like that all the time.. you just don’t look back at them the same way ;)
How lovely when they breathe together.
I love this couple.
I love them!!! Classical Music world's cutest couple!!
What a wonderful and charming Performance! When These two fantastic musicians start playing, the sun starts rising and spreading its light!
I bet the Shaham-Anthony home sounds quite lovely when they get to talking, and carrying on nice long conversations, in their native tongue of Violin...
I love the way this guy smiles like "lahh la lahh la lahh..." at such a difficult piece to play. Effortless.
Fabulous rendition by both. Not only technically perfect, but what a sophisticated musicianship and timing. Seldom heard these days.

I thought the same! Shocking that she does not nget a mention. She is an Australian citizen and often performs in Australia.
She’s an equally wonderful musician in her own right! This ought to be corrected!
You can just feel the joy.
All other versions I have heard are just too mechanical.

Hahaha! It sounds a bit mariachi in the middle part, hahaha
ory raci that sounds nothing like mariachi lol
