Also, to clarify, the Ys series follows the adventures of Adol, and each adventure takes place in a different part of the world to build the world of Ys. Your essentially playing his diaries. Hes a silent protag, whole always ship wrecks, loses his legendary items from his previous adventures, and makes a girl fall for him. A lot of allies you adventure with are from previous games. Except for the girls, they are usually exclusive to the area. Ys: The Oath in Felghana is amazing if your going to dive into Ys series, there should be a remake coming out in 2025.
Oh wow. I am a few eps into this game now and I will say that I absolutely love it. You'll see how my reaction to the game evolves as the series progresses. I didn't know that some of the characters carry over from previous games. I only assume Dogi does since he's very buddy buddy. I had absolutely no idea Ys: The Oath in Felghana was getting a remake. I knew Ys X Nordics is coming out soon but did not know about the other. Thanks for your comment! It was informative. 👍
@@maybedennis no worries glad to have helped, ive been a falcom fanboy since 1998 so yeah, shows my age lol. I'm glad many people are finally able to get into their IPs. Lots of anime tropes but they hands down do the best story telling, character and world building. You will see in the Trails series that each set of games details a country and their political and social issues which carries over to the other games. I suggest you don't start any of the Trails series until you play Trails in the Sky set. That's the best place to start, otherwise your gonna get confused like you did in this game. Characters will show up or events from previous games would be mentioned and they sometimes play major parts to the story. Anyways nice playthrough!
@@JinzoMask656 I do have a question on that actually. Was contemplating doing a poll but would you recommend starting Trails in the Sky OG or wait for the remake? Part of me wants to get in on the remake but when I realized that it would only cover FC, the idea of waiting even longer to play SC and The Third kinda haunts me.
@maybedennis it's a good question, it really depends. Me personally I'd play originals as you can see the gradual evolution through Trails series. Then I'd play remake after the other 2 parts are remade. It also keeps things consistent as playing something 3d then dropping down again would be awkward IMO
