GX is very good. Very reliable. I’ve owned GX, X01, and XX1. The latter 2 have a more pronounced tactile feel on clicks but really, GX is more than good enough.

Thanks for the video, got the same swap this weekend because the SX shifter will not fit the Shimano M6100 brake levers on the brakes I'm switching to, seems the NX and GX shifters have a clamp with the bolt at the bottom so should be fine.
I liked this shifter but the inside pull pin lever ate the plastic, still usable but the action is pretty sad, it was full of grease but these things have a limited lifespan, replaced it with a microshift friction shifter with the GX derailleur on my hardtail it's kinda fun, looks a bit dorky but I'm getting used to it 😂

Hi, for the barrel adjuster was completely loose, and you tightened it 3 rotations clockwise before tightening the screw on the rear derailleur? Thanks!
Yes it's a nx derailleur, my bike came with sx components and I have been changing them out as they wear out. During covid the nx derailleur was the only one I could get my hands on to replace the broken sx derailleur on my bike.

I typically I keep the chain on the smallest rear cog, then pull on it while tightening the set screw on the derailleur body

Yes I tightened it 3 clicks from completely loose. Can do 2 or 3 clicks from fully loose if you want.
