#09 | FRASER ISLAND - 'More Dingoes Than People'

- wewillroam.com | Fraser Island was our first post-lockdown destination. With no-one around, we soon discovered a once in a lifetime opportunity to experience a beautiful, quiet Fraser Island, with less than a handful of other visitors around.
Whilst this wasn't exactly how we'd imagined we'd arrive at Fraser Island, we're steadily learning this is what overland travel is all about; making it up as you go along and enjoying the little victories that come from trying. We'll forever remember our time camping on a deserted Fraser Island as one of those little victories.

So funny to watch you watching Dirt Sunrise and have comments from Trip in a van. I guess we all have the same passion for touring and 4wding and outdoors.
Absolutely the best vlog i have seen of 4wd driving on Fraser island, just wish i had the courage to do it , superb.
Fraser's not that hard just drop the pressures turn the common-sense on and off you go
Magic. 5 stars! If there was an annual contest for Next Level RV / Travel Vlog Award, WWR would have my nomination. Superb, classy images, smooth flowing narrative, and I guess some complex work behind it all to pull it off like that. It so matches yourselves - charmingly WYSIWYG. The 4x4 splash n splatter shots are sprinkled throughout, but they're not dominant or too long. They are done differently and done very well - I think the mood and style even there has something unique to WWR (trying to pin it down - first thing to come to mind is "zero/muted bogan content"). Another thing, editing is tight, no flabbing; its a "killer not filler" editing, something many Vloggers overlook or just can't afford. :)
Thank you for the kind words! Much appreciated and glad you enjoyed it 😁👍
Another fantastic video. This one should go into a museum, it's such a historical event to see Fraser Island so quiet.
I laughed at the dingo lying on the track. It's so usually quiet he's taken the rare opportunity to sleep on the track and wasn't moving for anyone.
Fraser Island is a very special place, we still can't believe we practically had it to ourselves. The Dingoes were awesome, such beautiful animals. Glad you enjoyed the video :)
I really enjoy your RUclips stuff. The music you create is so easy to listen to and your capacity to capture amazing images is beyond compare. I have been through all your stuff so far and have gone back for a second dose. Congratulations. You are well above the usual bogans with a 4WD and a GoPro that seem to have flooded RUclips. Entertaining and relaxing. Nice people. Thank you.
I'm amazed that you guys were the only car at eli creek so blessed to see Frazer island that quiet
I’m sitting in Costa Rica watching you both roaming on Fraser Island while you are watching Tim & Kelsey in Brasil. Love it.
We always look forward to watching Tim and Kelsey! Thanks for watching mate 👍
The vibe of your videos has made them family favorites. It's always a good day for us when you drop a new one, since we're living vicariously while hunkered down and working on the rig here. Stay safe, and Cheers from California
Thank you Mike! G'day to the whole fam from us 😊 really glad you enjoy the videos. Stay safe in Cali 👍
You definitely visited Fraser at the best time of the decade. Amazing to see the lack of tourist buses and queues to get through the tracks. Very jealous. Thanks for sharing.
You've really covered most of Fraser's beauty in a way I've never seen done before. Well done you! Would love to hear your background story .....particularly, your experience in film/video making as it really is sensational :)
What stunning cinematography! You really captured the true beauty of Fraser Island. Can't wait for future videos. Thank you for sharing your adventure.
This is the Fraser I could love. Wow - lucky you.
Tim and Kelsey!
So good guys! I've been to Fraser many times and never seen it that quiet - even at the cape - a very special opportunity for sure.
Take us back! How good is Fraser, once there you can see what all the fuss is about. Great video as always loved some of the shots you got of the Dingos.
Thanks guys! Couldn't get enough of the Dingoes! 😁
So good! Can't wait to see Fraser and hopefully we'll have it as peaceful as you guys did. Love it!!
Also, love your choice in videos. ;-) Cheers!
Well done! What a real video. Cool to see you watching Dirt Sunrise!
loved the vid guys. stumbled across it as I'm looking to do Fraser when all this covid dies down
Thank you very much for sharing your talents:D So beautifully edited and your music!!! It was great to see you playing on this one. Cheers Fella
Just spent a week at Waddy Point...more dingoes than we have seen before...always a magic place.
Awesome! Such a special place 👍
Great photography again guys 👍
Keep up the great work guys
it's nice to see that some people are able to enjoy being out right now. Love watching your adventures, cant wait to go on my own - Melbournian.. :)
Thank you Christine! We feel very lucky to be out and about exploring. hope you're keeping well in Melbourne, stay safe x
The dingoes are just beautiful. What an absolute treat to be so close to them.
It was really special, such an amazing place 😊
If only I could make my YT videos look half as good as these guys. Well done for another amazing video.
Always love your cinematography! So warm and inviting! Excellent video
Cheers Rick! Glad you enjoyed it 😁
We really enjoy your videos! How nice is the west coast of Fraser Island. Awinya Creek is by far one of our favourite campsites.
I'm curious what the bathroom situation is like on Fraser with the unpowered sites. Any drop toilets around or the ole' shovel and hole scenario? so beautiful though. Keen to finally head up after lock downs
There are plenty of areas which have toilets if you want to have that facility. Camping on the beach though.... that's the shovel option 😄
THANK You Very Much.
APPRECIATED.
Great to see you out and exploring, Fraser is such a fantastic peaceful island. I had the pleasure just on 25yrs ago and would love to get back. Great Vid, keep moving while you can.
Cheers Neil! Fraser is a very special place. Will keep on keeping on for sure! 😁
Very nice. Was the overgrown track The Postman’s track? It looked familiar.
Another great video guys! And amazing to see Fraser without the people.
Cheers Floyd, it was amazing to experience Fraser without the crowds 👍
Killing me! Can't wait until the world opens up so we can come check out Australia!
Can't wait for you to get here! Someday soon 🤞🤞🤞
You two have nailed it again......
Great Vid guys
Great to see you guys are well and out and about.... fantastic vid as always... Cheers.
Brilliant. Well done. I wish our Fraser trip was that quiet. Unfortunately we gunned it over from WA after NY and it was just nuts. Thanks for the vid. West coast of the island for me. I enjoy all your vids. So well put together and your Troopy setup be the envy of many.....
Thank you for watching 😁 We got very lucky as QLD parks were restricting numbers when Fraser reopened. I'm pretty sure we will never see it that quiet again!
That's one heck of a drive over from WA!
Hey guys awesome video, where abouts were you on the western side? My partner and I are heading to Fraser in October.
Beautiful island hey.. Thankyou for the uploads this on my bucket list 👍 just got back from willow springs flinders ranges awsome itching to get back out again. Stay safe guys look forward to seeing your next adventure
Awesome Jason! Willow Springs is a great spot, we miss Flinders! Hopefully get back out there next year perhaps. Thanks for following along 😁
Man you guys do such an amazing job on these. I really need to make it to the eastern coast of Australia one of these days.
Thank you! The East Coast is pretty special 😁

So awesome as usual !! 👌🏼🎥
Cheers mate! Hope all is well over in CAN 👍
Great work! Love it!
Just joined. Great vids mate. Love the way you mostly let the pictures/movies do the talking. Keep it up. Where are you from?
Did you make your roof console ? Or where is it from ? Thanks
Great videos. I'm kind of confused. Youe troopy roof used to go straight up. Now it's the slanted one. Why the change ? Which one do u prefer and why ? Thanks
Looks amazing. What time of year was this?
Hey Nick! We went in June :)
Hi guys. Please specify where I can download your tracks to the video, or listen to them online?
Thanks for the interest in our music. We don't currently have the tracks available online or as a download, maybe one day though :)
Your camera skills are really good. What camera do you use?
Beautiful imagery!
Which track were you driving at 4:45?
Did you guys change your pop top????
Yes we did 👍
@@WeWillRoam Expedition Centre? More details please. Reasons?
Sony A7iii camera?
Sony A7Sii 👍
@@WeWillRoam I just got the Sony A7iii and started using it on my youtube channel in the past week. The quality is awesome. Loving the Sony's.
Top job on the Fraser Island footage. Love Fraser, I live just across the water and frequent Fraser Island a lot over the past 40 years.
Hope you don’t catch to much crap for having Vic plates on...
Shame that now as at December 2020 half the island & it’s wildlife has been burned due to the incompetence of the state Labor government who failed to allow fire fighting aircraft stationed at Bundaberg to fly and save this world heritage listed icon.
