Tulip was indeed absolutely perfect. Not to over bearing, just some sniffs and kept the sudden movements to a minimum. I think they can tell Stormy is a bit nervous but she hung out and let Tulip say hi! I'm so glad. ❤ Love the end shot with the plushie too cute.
Bless Tulip🌷💕 for letting Stormy🤎💕 feel comfortable, it just makes my heart and soul feel so good.🥺💓 HUGE THANK YOU to you Dr. Holley, you are an angel on earth for these beautiful Beavers!🦫🦫😇🥰
Thank you Holley and Family. Tulip you are a star. Oh my gosh! Stormy you are a brave beaver. Petunia, yeah let's hold off on that energetic ball of fur because she just knows everybody loves her.
Poor girl, I’m glad she’s getting better (and she’s got a good multi species family)❤ I hope she can get along with Tulip and Petunia. Have a great weekend everyone!
Gosh, my heart was in my mouth watching those two interact for the first time. A little hissing from Stormy but Tulip was so gentle and seemed to know when Stormy had had enough. Beautiful to behold and bodes so well for their future meetings. Tulip has already shown what a tolerant and patient beaver she can be after learning how to cope with little monkey Petunia! 😊 Also, can I say how much I love to see all the plushies hanging up to dry on the cages? It's like some kind of weird art installation 🤪
I think God gifted Tulip with a sweet spirit and brought her to Dr Holley to teach the other beavers. Beautiful meeting and Tulip has a lot of wisdom for a young beaver.
How wonderful that this introduction of Tulip to Stormy went well! The expression in Stormy’s eyes made me think she’s a little scared, but Tulip is gentle and does not push it. And who can be scared of Tulip while watching her groom herself with one tiny fist at the end of a skinny arm sticking up in the air? She’s such a funny and loving beaver! Little Petunia at the end, drawing the Tulip plushie into her nest, is ultra-cute!
Awesome update! Yes---"submissive" is a spot-on word to help describe Stormy and her orientation right now. I bet that in another 6 weeks all three of these beavers will have moved into amazing levels of contentment and health!
Forgive me if I cannot remember if Tulip will ever be back in the wild. But, if not, I see that she is embracing her role of socialization professor to aid in helping any beavers that can be reintroduced. Thank you Holly, and Tulip❤.
That was amazing!!! Tulip showed curiosity and interest in Stormy but approached her calmly and gently to avoid overwhelming her. The situation was tense for Stormy as she was frightened and cautious. However, she has been making slow but steady progress. First, she started grooming her fur again and now she has a beautiful auburn coat. Stormy is eating well and has gained some weight. She allows Holley to touch her, give her some scritches, and as a recent development, lets her be carried and even sat on her lap for a short time. Tulips' kind and humorous personality will surely help Stormy gain trust and confidence, loosen up, and integrate into the beaver group. Holley, I admire your dedication and passion for your work as a beaver rehabber. I have always had a soft spot for wildlife, particularly rodents, but your commitment has inspired me to learn more about beavers. Lately, I've been delving into the topic, from reading articles on wildlife preservation to research studies on scent marking behavior. Many thanks to you and to Tulip, Petunia, and Stormy for being such an inspiration!

Good job, Holley 💜 Tulip and Petunia will be wonderful playmates for Stormy. It's just a matter of time before they're all together harmoniously; and, it will be healthy and emotionally healing for the beavers too.
What a perfect first face to face!! 💖 You are doing such a great job with these precious beavers. Hopefully, Stormy will start to warm up and put on weight. Bravo Tulip and fam!
That went very well, lovely to see! Tulip seemed unconcerned about Stormy while Stormy, though wary, wasn't extremely hostile. Seems to me it bodes well for creating a new family. I've been wondering if having an exchange of plushies might help get used to the other's scent, for example, putting one of Tulip's plushies into Stormy's cage, etc.

Thank you so much for the update, Holley! That introduction was something else... I wasn't sure whether I heard hissing when Stormy and Tulip came face to face the first time. You confirmed that Stormy hissed, as a signal to Tulip. Tulip seemed very chill and very interested. But she did seem to be careful and cautious with Stormy. Even after she backed away from the pool and started grooming, Tulip appeared to still be curious about Stormy. This first encounter was quite a fascinating thing to watch! Thank you so much for sharing that with us and for your explanations, Holley! I hope you are all, humans and animals, able to stay as cool as possible during the heat wave.
