I'm actually the opposite. It doesn't seem all that horrible. He was kicking that monitor all night. He was clearly unhappy with it. Did he act out unnecessarily... yes. But the worst of the comments seem to be directed to the crowd when they got upset with his reaction to the soundperson. He just wanted to finish his show. I was kinda shocked last night, but with this angle I'm not as bothered about how things ended
Agreed. I will say this though, they schooled the sound engineers after this for a while. They were not doing a great job. I'm guessing they weren't traveling with their own engineer.
They chose not to bring their own engineer. They hired local students that work at the club. And Anton told us that fact with pride, but apparently it was enough justification to treat them like dog shit. The truth is they’re cheap. They’d prefer their own engineer but don’t want to pay for it. The sound was great. The band was just unhappy with their monitor mixes onstage. There’s a better way to deal with it that verbally assaulting everyone. I didn’t ask for a refund because it sounded bad. I asked for a refund because Anton acted like spoiled twat.

Saw them in Perth, Western Australia a few days ago (2023-11-13 - Monday eve). Was a weird experience. They nailed everything they played. However, there was so much aggression directed at the audience that was in the front row in front of him! I didn't even think it was Anton that was singing - I couldn't see him (big hat and low stage lights) but the accent was like British Isles - didn't sound like him at all (from the interviews I've seen). But it must have either been him or a savant understudy! Anyway they really did nail every song - was really something. I don't think anyone enjoyed the aggression - but the crowd genuinely loved them...
Yikes. I was going to see them in Austin this weekend but not anymore. I’d rather spend my “Dunkin’ Donuts” money to see artists who aren’t total dickheads. Thought he grew out of this shit, but he must have just been on good behavior last time I saw them.
My friend was at their show in Austin. She left after he stopped one of the first songs 15 seconds in and called the crowd fuck nuts. She said the Dandy Warhols were fantastic though.
Just saw them play a two hour long set in Houston, about half of it was Anton banter, the other half was a great performance. I expected it to be messy and drunk, but luckily I still got a great show out of it too.
Next time Anton does something like that the rest of them should have a Serena-Maneesh/Asteroid 4/Fat White Family/Imajinary Friends/Whatever other bands those guys played in mash up ready to go.

The Halloween show in New Orleans was great in spite of Anton being kind of dickish. Nothing like this or Melbourne though.
