Finally! A good detailed video for small Honda rear ends! My 02 recon is in desperate need of some work and this is probably gonna save me a lot of money! Thanks man!
Dude your a life saver. Way to many incomplete vids on this out there.
Btw the double bearings. Both of them are supposed to be past the groove that’s where the pin to keep them in goes that’s why when you were putting axle in bearing was popping out bc a seal is supposed to be on outside of all bearings
Came here to say the same thing.
That’s a snap ring groove. Then a seal goes outside the snap ring.
Not hating, just info.
Very helpful video!!!!!!! Thank you!!! Lord bless you!!!!!!!
Great video! Learned a lot ....and what a storm indeed
Thanks for watching!
Good real no BS video
Good video, was very helpful when i was rebuilding my rear axle/ diff.
Great video bud thanks for sharing
you did great the rtv gray is the best trim it off when dry the next day
Thanks!
I just installed mine when I tightened the first lock nut it doesn’t roll easy does it have to be a bit loose ?
What kinda oil did you used for the differential and how much?
Idt you did the brakes right their should be a return spring behind that lever you put on the hub. I'm in the process of putting new on mine but I broke my arm their do you have to have the spring or what's goin on here?
Good job but more parts could’ve been purchased for this job to do it right . Overall great video and very educational .
Thanks!
Great video good job!!
You could've assembled the brakes after you bolted the diff onto the tube and slid the axle in a you wouldn't have had to unbolt the motor or any of that! It would've been much easier that way
Nice video, but your forgot the seal and dust cover on the left side of the axle after installing the two bearings.
And the clip.
Where did you get those ring and pinion gears at
For real man if you find out let me know plz man I need to know
The bearings you installed on the left side inside the axle housing is wrong the first bearing goes in all the way till it stops and the second one goes up against the first one and that grove is for a snap ring
where to get parts from
I think they were Honda parts found on the internet not sure where
I hope you see this, but how did you get the differential past the drive shaft? I took the universal off and let it come forward and I am still 1/4’ short of clearing the shaft!! If taking out the engine mount bolts the only way? Mine are so tight that I cannot get them off an have rounded the nut. :(
I'm sorry wish I could help but I made this video quite awhile back and I just can't remember.
I tried taking the U-Joint off the drive shaft, let the drive shaft come forward and I am still 1/4’ shy of having the differential housing clear the drive shaft. It got dark last night, have slept on it and will just try again on getting the engine mounts loose. Thanks for the reply and the video has been a big help.
you did that wrong mate, there is suppose to be clip and a seal after those two bearings in the swingarm
