    My to sons and I do high end finish work and watch your channel. A few times in the last year, when bucket time is necessary, they have told me to just Spencer Lewis that sh**. Bucket time is when you sit on a Bucket and figure out how to do something. I thought you might enjoy this story. Thanks for the great content.

      Solid. When I question if there's a better way to solve a trim problem or process, Spencer is who I think of for an intelligent option that isn't plagued with marketing crap in your face. We Get too much of that everywhere in our daily lives to the point that we begin to resent those who waste our time with it. Everyone has to make a living, but authenticity earns trust vs shilling junk for the ads money. Spencer is no bs, authentic and always has his ratio of giving value to "ads" in order. If he says it works well, it does, regardless of any sponsorship or lack there of.

      What brand is that lumber rack you have in the back wall? I’m over hauling my garage with cabinets I’m making and making a space for the lumber soon on a wall.

  • @scotts4125

    The Hazet 810-R4 blows the Wera screwdriver away. I have both and don't use the Wera any more. Lots of slop and a lot of back drag. The Hazet has 0 back drag as it's gearless. It also has better bit storage and the bitholder is removable if you are in a tight space. I have the Klein flip sockets. They are OK but Malco is superior. I do like that the Klein hold 3 sockets on a shaft.

    Thanks Spencer, I'm now $268 poorer.But.......got some really good items that will definitely be usefull. I didn't know they made retractable tie downs. I can't count the # of times I've rolled those things up.Sometimes we would have 6 or 7 of those on a Low Boy trailer and we would have to roll them all up after taking them off. Thanks for the list. Oh, the Knipex brand is my favorite for hand tools. Excellent quality and feel in the hand.

    Spencer is 100% correct about the tire inflator - but I will say Milwaukee has a 12 volt unit that I have used weekly for about 5 years - I cannot kill it - it will inflate every tire on the truck with one battery - it is more compact than then 18 volt unit. I keep 2 - 12 volt batteries with it. Great Video! Please have a safe and enjoyable holiday with your family!

    • @InsiderCarpentry
      @InsiderCarpentry  6 месяцев назад

      That is good Intel. I was afraid that unit wouldn’t quite have the desired amount of power.

    • @gregorymacneil2836
      @gregorymacneil2836 6 месяцев назад +1

      The 12 volt unit is also 1/2 the size of the 18 volt so it stores easy in the truck - with prices today keeping your tires at the correct pressure means you save about 10% in fuel and extend your tire life about 15% - that's the ROI - mine probably paid for itself in one year just in fuel savings - proper tire pressure is the easiest money you can make these days These pumps make it so easy to check your tire pressure every few weeks and or as the temperatures change. I check my tire pressure on garbage nights since I have to walk past the trucks and trailer@@InsiderCarpentry

    Have all but those long nut drivers. That said, I watch them out of the corner of my eye every time I walk by them 😂
    Yep. Tool junkie! My DeWaukee collection can make a honest man a thief… at least that’s what one of my subs said. I just pointed to the camera and the other “camera” attached to my hip. Has a 9mm lens. 🤷‍♂️
    Btw I’ve switched to all drawers less the top box on every stack. (All 7 stacks!). With the dolly hack Spencer posted. Works awesome. Each set up for phases of trim, odd jobs, sanding, consumables etc. what a time saver!!!
    Anyway, Merry Christmas and best wishes for the new year Spencer and all those reading this. 👍

    The Dewalt portable air pump is absolutely CLUTCH! I love mine.
    Same for the retractable ratchet straps. I bought a pair of the Rhino brand ones (the larger version) if I bought more, I’d get the smaller ones and you get 4, for the same price of the 2 large ones & they’re more practical, whereas the larger ones are more for ATV’s n whatnot.

    Just grabbed the label maker. Thank you sir. I've been using hockey tape and sharpie and then a layer of clear packing tape but it takes a little while to do. Surprisingly they hold up to rain though which I hope these will as well. Even if they don't I'll just use it in my house and go back to my crude hockey tape laminated with packing tape lol

    The DeWalt 20V MAX Tire inflator is great and I bought it based on your recommendation from a post when you were heading out on vacation a few years ago. I need another one because my 26 year old stole mine (app right I gave it to him). I've been a long term NOCO fan. I keep one in every vehicle too, even my Rivian R1S (all electric EV) just in case I have to jump someone else.

    i dialed my table saw to EXACT 45 degrees….. i took my time…. using 3/4 plywood scraps from a job i had and i dialed it in. when finished i could run plywood and verify the miter joint with a 90 degree square. it was PERFECT. then i stuck the wixey digital gauge on the table and zero’ed it out and put it on my saw blade and it said 44.2 degrees. 🤔. i then adjusted the blade to 45 on the wixey and ran some material and checked it with my 90 degree square and it was off (horribly). I ran the test three times and kept getting the same result. Either those gauges don’t work or it’s overstated how accurate they are. IMO

    Does anyone know a good source of fastcap's line in Canada?
    I ask because the tip magnet interests me, but lee valley and kaizen cases and inserts only carry a select few products for fastcap, and fastcap shipping to Canada is not great, and amazon wants 27 dollars for a tip magnet, or 20+ for a glue bot. They are not a serious supplier for anything fastcap in Canada.
    Anyone know of a good place to buy fastcap in Canada?

    Just a couple of off topic comments. First, I’m glad you take out the garbage at home. Second, I’m disappointed to see that fabric bandaid on your thumb. I was expecting duct tape or painters tape over a piece of toilet paper or paper towel. But it does look like the bandaid has made it through a few hand washes and maybe even a shower. If a bandaid stays on and keeps the blood off your work, it is doing its job. No need to change it.
