Rocco seems like a great guy and that clutch putt by tiger to force the playoff was more impressive than any hole in one. In the heat, at the end of the round, thousands watching you, on a putt stay in major contention. Who could still even hit the ball close under that kind of pressure?

This was such a great U.S. Open Rocco is as classy a guy as you will ever meet and Tiger well what can you say big game play at the majors

The best US Open ever played? Not only did you get 72 holes, but you also got another 18 playoff and additional sudden death!

Just remember. He won this tournament on a broken left leg. He had cracks in the lower leg. Not many athletes can say they won a champions event with a broken bone in a part of their body that's essential for their movement.
That's like a QB winning a super bowl with a broken arm or hand. Or a sprinter winning their meet with a broken leg.
It's possibly one of the greatest moments in sports under the circumstances. And he played FIVE rounds like that. Not the normal 4.
Rocco earned everyone's respect that weekend. Not a single person should have nothing but the utmost respect.

It's crazy they show the "Most top ten finishes" stat and say that Tiger needs to finish in the top ten in every major through '19 to tie Jack. You can hear the skepticism in the announcers voice. Here is Tiger, the 2019 Masters Champion.

Too true.. @58:54 (ish) achievements recognised, but a 👍 to your comment is def' deserved. (same commentator respects him throughout)

Johnny Miller is so negative towards players, seems jealous of them. Glad you we dont have him on UK coverage

He's literally the worst. Not only is he constantly negative, he repeats the same thing we all saw 20 times.
Yes johnny, we all saw that shot. No need to give me the replay 22 times.
      He's gone now though. Thankfully.

Love him or hate him, the amount of times I have a thought and then jonny miller says what I just thought is uncanny, gonna miss him callin it like it is, I cant believe steve let him try to go at that 600 yard par 5 instead of laying up....was odd for sure

Most seem/sound like it's a chore when it comes to a Tiger Woods effort!

Can the announcers be any more jealous? Lol. They know so much but have so little wins in majors when they played!!

You're so right, they are so critical pretending to teach the players how to play. And you always wonder whether they were the best during their time!

I just have to comment on the amateurish audio on these broadcasts. any golfer can tell you that hitting a ball off the fairway doesn’t sound like a .357 magnum going off. and they mic the course too hot so that a caddy talking or some yahoo in the crowd trying to get some attention nearly throws you out of your seat. and then, unless everything else is quiet, you can’t understand the commentators. this is still going on in 2023. just incompetent sound units. on every network!

It doesn't matter what number of par you call a hole. You can call it a par 3 par 4 or par 5. What is funny is that if you call an over 250 yard hole a par 3 every single person will go for it, yet call the same exact hole a par 4 and some will lay up. Same think with brutally tough long par 4's. You could easily call it a par 5. Call it a par 4 and nobody is laying up. Call it a par 5 and some will lay up. I guess golfers are like jockeys.......Pinheads. Same with golf announcers. Whether you call a hole a par 3 or a par 4 has zero bearing on how tough the hole is.
