Awesome build as always! Good looking truck and I like your paint choices for the chassis, engine, etc. I also have the Revell 66 Malibu flip nose and I think it would look great painted up like your 53
I always loved the MPC hot rod kits. I remember a one, a dodge van drag car kit with 2 side by side blown v-8 engines mounted inside the van mid engine
YESSSS I have that kit buddy, I built a hot rod ambulance with 2 426 hemi engines, It's got a gasser front axle and 2 parachutes i.call it RAMBULANCE 😊😊😊
Hi Chris, that pickup turned out absolutely fantastic, not sure if I would have use6c purple, but then that was your decision, best regards from Australia, Les
happy to see this one back as it shares all the chassis and engine parts with the spirit of 57 chevy gasser, love using these for gassers, just cut off thar front axle and drill holes to replicate u bolts and use and uluminum rod for a front axle, cant wait to get a few
You were right, they're called Bed Strips Love this kit. It was the FIRST kit that I was able to build successfully and was very proud of it (at the age of 11).
Great build of a true classic model!!!❤ I built this fantastic MPC kit as a kid several times. So happy they brought it back. This is the essence of a true model kit!!!! All the parts are there to represent a real vehicle. Motor, transmission, full suspension, even separate exhaust. Definitely NO Curbside B.S. here just full blown learning the anatomy of a Hot Rod for a youngster, or reliving the gold of the Hot Rod area!!!! Great build, one of the best models ever produced!!!! Looking forward to building several examples. 🙂
I wasn't able to see what color you used for the body. I know it was Krylon Short Cuts but I couldn't see the name of the purple looking color. Can you enlighten me? Thanks and Rock on Brother!
Chris you need to clean that black spot off your mat just below and left of the W. I wiped off my screen off. It took me a couple of time to figure out that it on your mat aknd not on my screen 😂😂😂 And as usual, you build some sweet rides. And that 53 is a good looking truck.
I love this guys videos so much, he’s inspired me to start building model cars
Yeah, I’m a military aircraft guy and I want to try some of these kits, too
Me too
He’s enjoyable to watch, he builds models the way they were intended to be built. You watch a video going away with a feeling I could build that… lol
Me too
Me three now my wife complains about me taking over the table on snowy days instead of my mother.

Sweet build. I just finished my first MPC kit ('76 Chevy Caprice with trailer) and the fitment was superb, just like this one from what we can see.
Nice video, build up and review! I'm actually finishing up a AMT '53 Ford Flip-nose Pickup. Basically the same kit.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for sharing your techniques they make scale model car building look fun and manageable.
If I remember right this kid was originally red and I built it when I was a kid. It's awesome
Really great build up stay safe and enjoy
My 57 Chevy was inspired by the spirit of 57 gasser model and it’s on the street but hardly legal.
It looks like a really nice kit. You did an excellent job building it. Nice color choice, and detail work. Thanks for sharing.
Nice color choice.
Dig this truck.

Works perfectly, you can see it in all the pics at the end. Smooth as butter on this one. I do struggle with some of the tilt nose semis though.
