Mine broke in 10days. High temperature alarm went off and it just stopped working. Now I'm waiting for repair and angry that this 1,100 freezer will probably do it again and only has a 1 year warrenty.
Excellent review! Just bought this same freezer from Home Depot on sale. After the delivery guys left, I noticed none of the lights were working. The ceiling LED and the LED inside the temp setting control. I was about to get a replacement unit until I saw your excellent video. You showed that cable hidden on the top right side. I unscrewed it and lifted off the little cover showing a small cable that was not connected. I plugged it in and all was fine! Although you didn't talk about that, your video showed it well! Thanks!
I beg, can you please give me the dimensions of the wire rack? I'm very tempted to buy it, but literally no where online does it give what the shelf are in size, i have stuff that i like to "neatly pack" but I'm getting absolutely nowhere of finding the dimensions of the shelf! they only say "cubic ft".. I beg for depth and width demisions in any measurement besides the absolutely silly cubic ft!
Any comments on how things holding up for you? Getting ours delivered tomorrow - same model. Curious on stability and whether we should pony up for an extended warranty.
The GE freezer is doing great. I rarely hear it running. Everything frozen, no issues. I am one who always buys an extended warranty. Most products don't last anymore.
@@DrBDIY It's interesting (and confusing) on Amazon's web site for this item it shows "product dimensions" of 15" X 15", but in the diagram and also in the "about" section, they say 15" X 11.75". The 15x15 won't fit two per shelf, but the smaller width basket looks like what you have and works 2 per shelf.
It should work fine. There may be a lesser model that is cheaper but without garage ready. Garage ready means it can operate in greater weather highs and lows. Just confirm with the seller.
My button on top of the freezer seems to slip up above the door. I have to manually push it down so the door can push the button in when closed. Anyone else have this issue?
The button should not slip above the door. I checked our freezer and it is not possible for the button not to hit the door. Either your door is installed incorrectly, the freezer is not level, or there is a defect.
There are two similar models of this freezer. Our model doesn't support the bottom door shelf even though it looks like one fits. The other model (I think with upgraded inside shelf material) also has a bottom door shelf.

I hope they find the problem !

I like extra bonuses. Good job.

The top racks are 26" Wide x 13" Deep. The bottom rack is 26" wide x 18" deep.
@@DrBDIY thank you very much for this information

Would you mind posting a link to the baskets you used? Or a picture of the tag thats hanging on the front of them?

Great video. We are looking for a freezer like yours but we want to put it in house. Do you think it will be okay

Thanks for ur review. Very helpful
Glad you liked it
Would this be an issue for a texas garage that’s not temp controlled in the hot hot summers?
This unit is in the Austin metro area. No problems.
@@DrBDIY right on thank you.
Dude your missing a door shelf.

@@DrBDIY Gotcha, Thanks. I decided to go with a similar sized GE model. Thank you for your review.
