This is the best Mid-size truck in the market. I have 2018 Pro-4X - after going through all of its competitors, I’ve got this truck and am loving it.

I am eyeing a used 2021 Frontier PRO-4X right now. Have your friends, kids, or family offered up opinions on the ride / space in back? It felt pretty tight while just sitting still before I drove it. Any help or opinions would be great. A solid and quiet ride for sure.

@@rickwhitfield7617 I’ve no kids and the only backseat passengers have been for local trips. It seems to be an upright seating position, might not be the best for multi hour rides. There are probably better vehicles if you need to transport backseat passengers on long trips,

Hysterical. the 3.8 gets the same economy as the 4.0 but those add more complication, a transmission that can’t stop shifting and get rid of the manual transmission. Glad I got one of the last 2019 six speed manuals.

The placement of your POV camera is as bad as the constant music in the background. Also, a smart person would buy a 2019 at 0% while they still can. I did, and I'll keep mine for the rest of my life (although with us soon going full Zombieland that might not be so long).

2000RPM at 70MPH, thats kind of what it was doing with the 4.0L and 5 speed. Sounds Like nissan didn't make the 9th gear much taller than the 5th gear in the previous truck. What a disappointment. I love the frontier too but I think i would just buy a used 6 speed manual since the new motor and tranny's benefits seem negligible at best.

    • @PerryCaulkins

i love my 6speed VQ frontier. Its a beast, super fun to drive and awesome offroad. people dont ever talk about the VDS or whatever torque-vectoring-by-braking that is found is most 4x4 models. Its very capable stock, even with no lockers. i also average 22 mpg which is not bad at all. ive gone through a tacoma, chevy colorado(for work) and even a cherokee xj. The frontier is a solid truck

    Got a ‘20 P4X,
Seems to hunt for gears, downshift is awful, can feel 3.2.1 in stops, feels like a basketball hitting the cab.
Engine is noisy and squeals when ac compressor kicks on.

I have. The 2017 frontier...the new motor has DIRECT INJECTION...all motors that have had Direct Injection the valves carbon up.
Toyota has both direct injection plus multi port to solve this problem.
Why purchase a engine that has a known flawed problem of valves to carbon up at the 40000 mile mark. I guess Nissan does not care because it will be out of warrenty. Am I missing something

This is why Nissan is so behind. This new frontier was supposed to come out in 2020 and is already may and there's nothing yet. The new redesigned frontier is supposed to come out in 2021 and this one is not going to sell well because a lot of people are going to wait for the new model. I don't get it. 🙁

What do you mean? It’s technically the most powerful engine in its class.... And turbo 4s are no longer a sign of weak, underpowered engines. Turbo v6s dominate the full size segment and likewise, the Rangers engine is currently the one to beat in the class.

you’ve clearly never driven a frontier. i had a 2014 the 4.0 might have only made around 260 horsepower but power came on strong as hell no matter where in the powerband i was. i don’t think the new 3.8 will have any trouble moving the truck or anything it’s pulling.

A good amount of people are at least around where I live. The price for these compared to the Colorado and Tacoma make this a steal. It’s always been an ok truck, but for the majority of people who just want a truck it does the job.

It's a great value for the money, for most people their vehicle is either just transportation or a tool to do work with and the extra money for a Toyota, for example, just isn't justified.

We have a 2019 Tacoma TRD Pro as well, can’t stand the way that truck drives. The interior looks better, has more bells and whistles but I like the Frontier better all-around. I couldn’t care less if the Frontier body style has not changed in 15 years. Society is more than ridiculous in how they chase newer/better/faster etc. all the time. If it works, don’t change it - you’ll know what I’m saying when you reach your mid-40’s. 🙂
