They have to try get through it not around it
pretty sure the whole point is they’re trying to roll the block but the blocker is practicing how to counter that
Seems like a good exercise, I should do that with my players.
I should probably figure out how to do both of them first though. Currently I just hit where the block isn't, and my blocking has just been plain bad this season
I used mess this up so much…now I just aims for the tips of their fingers and it flies out of bounds.(do this if they block the line shot and there are blockers for the cross shot)
This mostly means that they have alot of experience but no mastery in spiking
I think they’re purposely hitting into the block, or they just cut out all the hits that didn’t touch the block (or they’re REALLY good at blocking I guess?) 😅

I REALLY need help on how I can tool the block. When I only have a few seconds to make a decision in the air I’m surrounded by a wall. Any tips?
The main thing I see when people take an approach is that they aren't hitting the ball slightly in front of them. And because of that they really don't see the block too well and they can't really see the hands of the block making it tougher to tool. The first thing I would do is work on the hitting mechanics to make sure you can see the block out of your peripherals. The main thing about tooling is getting comfortable hitting the ball out of bounds. You spend so much time working on hitting the ball in, that it then becomes difficult to learn the opposite. My main thing would be doing hitting lines against 2 blockers. Doing this will teach you how to get around a two person block. What I would say for this drill is don't worry about getting blocked or hitting out. Work on scoring points because that is what you are there to do. There are plenty of ways to score. Hitting high off of the hands, swiping off the outside hand, hitting off the outside hand, swiping the inside hand, hitting low seam, hitting a ball off of the block that comes back and is an easy free ball reset. These things you can work on by just not worrying about hitting out or getting blocked. I wouldn't suggest doing it in a game though.
I don't train vball but every time when there are 2 blockers or less i hit diagonal.I get point 80% of times
usually if ur up against big blockers ask for a tight set and force a joust and jus swipe it off their hands n if not then pray
You don’t need to see the block actually since even when you do it’s for a very brief moment you should pay attention to where your set is according to how the block is set up based on previous swings.
If the last swing my block was pushed towards my line my next ball I’m going to try to get around and into my Angle avoiding the block or going for an edge which can lead to a lot of tools
This can also be reversed so block steps inside to take the angle so my next swing I will try to tool my pin blocker down the line :)
Athleticism plays apart in decision making so if you can jump very high you have more time to see the block and make the decision. If you don’t jump as high I recommend using the tactic I mentioned for some immediate success :)

Honestly, I'm good when I block by myself, it's just irritating because someone will jump to your side and then someone in the middle will slip through. So just one on one

What specific visuals do you teach your blockers
As a middle i usually cover the diagonals of the court and just look at the ball
I try to imagine a straight line from where to hitters hand is to where the ball is, and I position myself accordingly. Though if ik that they are going to hit line or cross, I just block line or cross. I'm still an amateur and have a lot to learn.
I have lately been blocking where the hitters shoulders are facing and it seems to work out well
