@@travisturner9118 because you’re misinterpreting the definition of a chord here; it is actually: a group of (typically three or more) notes sounded together, as a basis of harmony.
the key factor being the typically, dyads are chords just as much as power chords are chords as a power chord falls under the dyad family, similar to how a minor chord is a triad.
In music theory the technical term for a 2-note chord is a “dyad.” So yes, a dyad has two notes, but it is still considered a chord.
