@@rationalthinker1 Once a month even I use a sequencer and turn knobs - not only the filter though. A synth sound must not be static, and it can be fun playing chords with the other hand. What sucks even more than 2-bar sequencer stuff are guys who play some random notes with bad timing. I like players like Alex Ball, Matt Johnson, Luke Neptune, Katsunori Ujiie, Tim Sund, Lisa Bella Donna, MeX, Grubenpony12 etc, who really know what they‘re doing.
Hahaha...often the demos are with a long held octave C at the left and the right hand coloring some chords with sounds submerged in a mass of Zoom quality reverb. And the next sound with that left hand hanging on octave C again and....yay...a G...tadaaa. And that right hand didn't realize that yet. In my time those people by an Elka Organ with rhythm, chosen on the advice of the organ course on TV
I love how Different it is to its own Roland Jupiter-8 Predecessor. Like how the Portamento effect is not a Knob, but a Random Blue button you can press, and how you can make your own sounwaves instead of Choosing between the Original 5 Waves.
Anyone who says the Jupiter X is a bad keyboard apparently didn’t hear this virtuoso play it. Maybe it’s the user. This genius made it sing!!! Outstanding!!! I wish he’d do a series of tutorials as well. 👍🏻👍🏻
I modify and repair aircraft structures for a living, yea it pays the bills, but its not near as satisfying to life or the ear as what you just performed. Well done sir. I chose the wrong profession.

First rate demo of the Jupiter X! This demo is what put the Jupiter X on my radar and helped me decide to try one out myself. Sadly the Jupiter X is fairly convoluted and not fun to operate. Having owned numerous Jupiter 8's, 6's, Juno's, and other vintage and modern Roland variants, the Jupiter X falls short from a real time control perspective and sound quality. Don't get me wrong, sonically it is very nice. However, like most analog modeling synthesizers, it has an inherent digital quality to it that just misses the mark. It is still a great sounding synthesizer for the money with fantastic build quality.
Imagine having a Fantom and this all in one workstation!? Fantom still missing the full properly labeled and laid out controls! Fantom is like having a generic midi controller! What makes the Jupiter amazing is the authentic tactile controls! Menu diving optional! Think the value in the X comes down to control layout. JD XA a close second and of course system 8!
Be warned, the knobs and faders you see won't help you as soon as you dig into ZEN. And that was the reason you bought this synth for. There are at least 30 or 40 important and basic parameters the surface is zero help with. Happy menu diving. And the Blofeld style mini display is a nightmare. If you think you are used to Roland structure/patch design, you are not. This whole multi-engine thing is not well thought out.
@@tuneunleashed On the other hand who am I to judge. Because in regards of Roland most musicians lack...foresight. I remember printed magazines from mid 80s with pages of classifieds selling 303 for like $150..Game Stop do you listen? I remember the mediocre ratings for the 909 from synth authority press. And I remember their "official" plastic certificates for the JP8000. Because Roland either came late to the parties or with stuff half-baked. Let's not forget this is a Japanese company. They have a totally different way of thinking. In some way it's really fascinating to watch them constantly moving between these different cultural poles of West and East.
Who ever said this synth is junk obviously didn’t play enough synths. Not only this thing sounds great; but I really enjoy his playing and creativity! Nice demo INDEED! Great music!😌🎶🎹❤️👍🏾
it isn't the same scale all they way through but it doesn't sound very complicated. mostly just sounds like major and minor and maybe some Dorian in there
love this. is this all the jupiter X? Also the drums? what pedal do you use? Wish I could hire you for online lecture on it for when I gather enough dough to buy it. :D
Pedal is Boss RC-30. Yes, this synth has possibilities to have 4 synth sounds together + 1 drum sounds. All here is from the Jupiter X. Sounds fantastic and full of controls, great keys action. Worth it!
great demo! Too bad the System 8 sounds better than the X. This sounds a bit thin. You played great.. its just the thin sounds. I hate saying that because it's such a sexy machine, aesthetically.
Agreed. I too (like other users) prefer the ACB technology over ABM/ZEN. The ACB emulations sound a bit more accurate to the original synths. The difference may not be huge, but I still have a preference for ACB, as I own some of the vintage hardware (Juno 60, JX-3P etc)
As an owner of a Jupiter 8 in 1981 I think this is probably the nearest thing to owning an JP8 if you don't have £20,000 lying around to buy an original. 😎
I always prefer synth demos by people who can really play - like you. Excellent job! 👍

That's weird. I prefer the salesman demo where he presses individual keys and turns knobs with no musical expression whatsoever.

Can’t beat Jupiter synth brass patches.
This is pure 80's synthwave loveliness
The synth is obviously excellent, but playing..... just epic. Excellent first solo, love the phrasing!
Ditto. 👍
The best demos. No talking and playing good stuff!
Hi there Matt...just tumbled on this ..lovely playing on the slow side...
Roland did well!!! Very warm sound!!!!
Creating synths like that is going to make the 2020's a secondary 80's.
Wow! Your playing is amazing, and the chords and bass are sick!
Some really nice sounds in the first tune.
Very inspiring great live performance! Thumbs up !!!
Thanks for the amazing demo. Now I know what to do with the I-Arpeggio. You also sold me a looper!
awesome , my favorite jup x vid , nice tunes
Damn, THIS GUY IS GOOD!!!
Great playing! It sounds so beautiful. Amazing sounding synth too

There is a nice pressure in the low frequency and the mix of instruments in folume and panorama and color is fine. Thanks for your demo
Awesome! Brilliant! Thank you.
Great demo. Good playing, excellent selection of sounds demonstrated, and you clearly understand THIS synth

Thanks for your amazing demo.

Great playing! Love these sounds.
You know how to deal with this epic synth 👏🏼👏🏼thanks
Good morning,
What is this pedal at 0.15 seconds?
THANKS !!

loved your playing budd. Do you have a channel where you play more?
Very well done. Great job and thanks for posting this.

Beautiful playing.. you're really showing what this can do in the hands of a pro
This is so great, I want this...
this is such a beautiful synth!! great performed, you made a good job my friend 🤗👍👍👏👏
Fabulous playing on a great sounding synth!
I undestand it does not have sequencer, but it does have smart arpegiator and some kind of a drum machine, But Does it have any recording options?
Bravissimo
holy shit now THAT is a demo
Can i install all expansions from Roland, Zenology ? If yes, i will get this one instead of Fantom 7. Another thing, what pedal is that ? Thanks !
Boss RC-30
great perfomormance. I have the Jupiter X, but i don't have "Scene" from the first song. Is this factory scene, or created by user? Cheers
Does Jupiter X let you use two separate envelopes (VCA and VCF) for the 106 model?
Wow! This was amazing!
Great demo!!!!!!! Really makes to want to buy this best thing!
Very nice demo, thank you
great musig, congrats!!! May I ask what the pedal does exactly?
It's a looper pedal.
@@bulletheadbeatz2296 aha, ok thank you. And the looper is where, is it a PC, or is it embedded in the Jupiter-X?

DAMN good performance
What Sustain pedal are you using .. I know it’s a Boss but what model ?… great demonstration 👍
Nice demo 👍well done
Are these all factory scenes or presets? Great job!!
I am three years late to this gem
Great demo! Thanks 🙏
Why have I only heard about three different sounds come out of this thing on any demo?
Any vst emulator?
Great: It still has that 'light and airy' sound, whereas many other synths can sound 'stodgy'
Great demo! 😎👍🏻
beautiful thank you

Some serious chops there
Does this synth also have sample acoustic sounds of real pianos and woodwind, brass, and string instruments?
This has a XV5080 inside too.
Yes, a lot! Just got mine last week.
Did you pinch rick wakemans fingers ya little scallywag? Great demo.
Please make video for nord electro 6d❤

Excellent demo, excellent playing! You certainly play to this synth's strengths.
100% bad ass synthy goodness! 🤘🏼
Is this @ondrapivec playing?
Syth-O jazz. Smooth.
Good lawd. Taking me back.
What is the foot pedal on the floor, please? Is it some kind of looper?
Yes it's a loop, Boss RC-30
Cheers.
