The hottest comic in America, Sebastian Maniscalco joins forces with legendary Italian-American and two-time Oscar® winner, Robert De Niro (Best Actor, Raging Bull, 1980), in the new comedy ABOUT MY FATHER. The film centers around Sebastian (Maniscalco) who is encouraged by his fiancée (Leslie Bibb) to bring his immigrant, hairdresser father, Salvo (De Niro), to a weekend get-together with her super-rich and exceedingly eccentric family (Kim Cattrall, Anders Holm, Brett Dier, David Rasche). The weekend develops into what can only be described as a culture clash, leaving Sebastian and Salvo to discover that the great thing about family is everything about family.
ABOUT MY FATHER is directed by Laura Terruso and written by Austen Earl & Sebastian Maniscalco.

@@theandroids - I actually was never a fan of how they made Mario talk. Italians don’t talk that way. I found it offensive. The game itself was enjoyable though, and I’m glad they changed his voice for the new movie.

Id love to see a movie of them two in actual italy trying to fit in at a function or something makes them be there. Them being New York/Chicago Italian’s seeing how out of touch they actually are with the culture and language. the divide would make for a great set up

Tbf a lot of Italians watch their movies and think theyre hilarious. My mom loves them- culture has evolved in different branches but still a lot of amusement and similarity in values especially in the South where these immigrants came from

WOW!! My husband and I just watched this tonight. We're both Italian Americans. We loved this movie and the story and cast were great, especially Sebastian Maniscalco and Robert DeNiro! We laughed, I got teary eyed and the acting was award winning! Cast as father and son they were perfect. Thank you for writing such a great screenplay Sebastian! More! More!

I saw SM in a small comedy club in Vernon Hills 45 min from Chicago. This was early in his career. I knew he was going to be awesome. The very next day I saw him at Arlington race track just hanging out. He’s one of my favs.

I just love DeNiro, his roles always are great, funny, and has that vibe that I can't explain, the one that stuck with me from "Meet The Fockers", that type of roles I enjoy where he is in. He's just great being serious in comedies, yet sometimes relaxed, and then sarcastic. But I really enjoy gangster type of movies with him in them, he's just perfect with the looks.
Don't forget the Analyse This and That movies. They are really funny.
