  • I fancied testing the Cosori 12L Oven with a yorkshire pudding recipe I found on the internet (link below but recipe is also pinned in the comments and is at the bottom of the description)
It is so helpful to be able to see cooking progress through the glass, and fun to watch the puddings rise on timelapse.
It was also good to see how they compared to budget shop bought ones, and interestingly they both ended up being the same per pud (cost breakdown at the end of the vlog)
Needless to say the homemade ones were without doubt superior to the shop bought ones (the budget ones at least!)

    ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
140g Plain or All Purpose Flour (this is about 200ml/7 fl oz)
4 eggs (about 200ml/7 fl oz)
    200ml Milk
Vegetable oil (or any Oil you choose - I used lard)
    Salt & Pepper to taste
    1 tsp Dried Thyme (optional)
*drizzle oil evenly into your pudding tins/containers (I used a mixture of tins and silicon cupcake/muffin cases - note there is no ‘sizzle’ sound from hot oil in the silicone containers) place in AF to heat through for 5 mins (Roast setting 205c/400f)
*Meanwhile, to make the batter; tip the flour, seasoning and dried thyme (if using) into a large bowl and add the eggs, one at a time - beating on each add. Gradually add the milk until batter is smooth. Pour batter into the recently emptied jug, remove the hot tins/silicone containers and pour batter, filling each container about 1/2 way.
*Place containers back in the oven/AF, leave undisturbed for as long as possible before checking (esp if you do not have a window to check)
*1st batch took 15 mins - I didn’t turn these as I intended to freeze, if eating straight away, would have turned them all upside down and cook for a few mins extra.
*2nd batch took 10 mins - I did turn over to cook the bottoms for further 5 mins.
*From frozen: 5 mins (I usually bung in with the roasties for last 5 mins before serving)

My mother always kept the dripping from her roasts in the fridge and used that to cook her yorkies. She often put chopped onions in the mixture too which we loved. I cannot tell a lie her meat was frequently like leather but her yorkies were smashing! 😊

Morning Kerry, qr code works just fine and dandy. I use those silicone cases you sent me for doing my yorkies because they come out easily and like you I use my tower with the window as I love watching them rise. I leave my mixture in the fridge just about all day 😂😂. Those look bloomin delicious 😋. I've turned mine upside down on a few occasions but I know it was because I squeezed too many cases in lol. I need to work out how many points they are as I love yorkies, can eat them on their own. Nothing beats homemade. We could see the steam from them. Love a crispy yorkie 😋😋😋😋. My mouth is watering watching you eat them lol. Another great vlog Kerry, have a great day xxxx Jacs 💚❤️

Hi Kerry there's no doubt who the winner is, yours are amazing. If i had the room i'd buy an air fryer oven. I must admit i like the stainless steel hysapientia one better. I got some of those moulds for muffins, i bought the large and small ones. I kept four of the large ones for yorkies as there are only two of us and they turn out lovely. I have the cosori dual blaze, i do turn them over towards the end even though there's an element on the bottom

Being a Yorkshire lass, I've always used the one, one, one method.
Depending on the amount of people you want to feed as one or two Yorkshire puddings.
Basically get a cup and fill one cup of plain flour, repeat the same level of eggs then the same amount of milk. Season. Whisk to add air then leave on side for half a hour.
Heat a knob of lard in pudding tin to sizzling hot.
Add mixture into pudding tins . Oven 25 mins gas mark 8
Air fryer 14 mins . Everyone has their own version .
    Yours looks fab x

    Hi Kerry,
Interesting comparison! Really u managed probably 24/25 splitting the larger ones.
Just an idea, that I use, heat your fats in a bowl in the ping machine, warm your containers on your pre heat then add the fats to them along with your batter, it's a method I use for a shorter cooking time, hope this helps.😊

46p for 15 in Lidl if you buy the budget ones. They have only slightly risen though but at least they are Yorkshire puddings. I always make my own though. The larger the container the less you can make and the smaller the container the more you can make.
