I don't know if anyone else saw this, but the fact that you're covering a movie that was based in Japan, and at 4:19 there's a car on the left with the "Fujiwara Tofu Shop" wrap from Initial D on the side of the door is just amazing.
@@TheNashFilesI would say my top 3 are in the actual order they came out. The original and 2F2F are almost tied in my book. Tokyo drift was a good a third. It was all down hill after that. Fast 4 was okay but 5 to 10 are pretty trash. 10 was so terrible I could barely make it through the movie. This is coming from someone who is a big Paul Walker fan. Also drifting and street racing has been my life. After 3 the movies got really cheesy and lost the original point of the whole series. They should have definitely stopped making them after Paul passed away as well.
I ran the construction of many of those locations on that film.from Hawthorne mall, below the 105 fwy, Victorville housing tract, Lower Grand Ave for Tokyo. Sun chemical for the mechanic shop, to "Shibuya intersection" in Glendale. Great memories.
You can hop the fence and get Into the parking structure at Hawthorne Plaza Mall. You can walk up and down all the circular ramps and levels where they drifted and gathered during those meet up and racing scenes.

There is a movie I wouldn't mind finding out where the filming locations are and that is "Black Dog". There isn't a lot of information about this movie but I know that it was filmed in Georgia.
I live in VV...i was on scene watching them film the scenes through the construction homes at the time 2005ish..the hauler they had there had at least 4-5 vipers that they ended up wrecking nearly all of them...also when you were talking about where sean wrecked his monte carlo at..it was nearly right where you were talking at...behind you...also that oil pumpjack you see in that scene was cgi'd in the final cut of the movie...nothing ever existed like that...my parents lived in a track home off of tawney ridge/ desert springs dr...a few streets down from that spot...so we would walk over to watch them film most of the scenes there.

this is really cool and you have done an excellent job at presenting the location and doing some exposition, video is nicely paced. I love that movie. I would have hopped the fence at the howthorne mall (been near it btw) but I understand why you didn't want to put it on film
I pulled up the crash/rollover scene at the end of the race to try and match the area to help you out, but yeah, it doesn't really seem to match that area. Some of the background hills/housing didn't appear to line up. Wonder if they did that scene at another location? At any rate, fun stuff. Thanks for the tour. Always fun to see filming locations.

Among the many things that didn't make sense in the movie. The last race scene with Shawn against "dk", they clearly raced in a more desert environment [California] instead of the more forest areas in the mountains of Japan
That could very well be a possibility, however, when I was driving through the hills to get to the beginning of the last race location, a lot of the hills in that area looked like the ones from the movie. It’s a pretty secluded area. 🤷🏻♂️
It must really SUCK to live in a house used as a film location… especially F&F… dealing with annoying people taking videos and pics of your house.. f**king hell
Its even worse to the toretto house in echo park which is ironically within walking distance to the store. Even though the movie gives the illusion that they are not as close as they are
One of the things I noticed that I found interesting is that the houses in the movie that were portrayed as being under construction was The actual houses that were being built.lol
Btw was Han's crash site/Deckard's F&F6 cameo/Mr. Nobody's magic trick scene also filmed in LA or on location in Tokyo? Another evidence that reveals that Tokyo Drift was not actually filmed in Tokyo is the subway scene where Sean and Neela escape the accident. That subway train is actually the Metro B Red Line in LA. The same one used in the last sequence of 1994's Speed

no. its expensive to film in tokyo, so for majority of the movie, they used an empty lot to make it look like they were in japan. esp when shaun was drifting around the people. they were in hawthorn heights filming movie
Do they ever say what “pretend” city the school and constructionrace neighborhood is? The police station has Arizona flags in it, so I would assume they aren’t claiming it to be in Cali unless it’s right on the border for some reason.

@@RICHCASALI-i1pit’s filmed in LA, very little percent of shots were filmed in Japan, they actually got caught by police there and someone had to take the credit as the fake director i think, which he got booked taken to jail for a short time. they didn’t get a permit to film in Japan

Ending Race scene was filmed upper 39 by Falling Springs more like, some section is blocked off tho. Cool video tho😊
