- Ok people's what's going on. As you can see we have Ulanzi's wireless microphone here for your viewing/listening pleasure. This video has more of a focus on this microphone's flexibility and a go over on how equipped it comes, it's portability and how it sound.
I haven't used this microphone is until a few days before this upload where a subscriber asked me if I ever figured out how to record onto a memory card. I picked up this microphone when I got home and decided to tinker with it again and low and behold, this microphone is rediculously easy to work.
Incase you missed it, if you insert a mini SD Card in any of the Microphones they will record sound the moment you open the charging case. You can turn them off to avoid them recording by holding the power buttons down for about 15secds in which the power light on the microphones will turn off.
This will work with your DJI Action 3 if you want a very cheap solution for an external microphone. If you are using a cage you will need that USB-C to USB-C adapter so the receiver has enough clearance from the cage so it will still connect. The connections are very secure and clicks in place to ensure you the receiver will not fall out of the USB-c slot.

To save people time, just get the USB C version. I looked everywhere for a lightning to USB C adapter and they do not exist except for the official apple one for $30. Easier to adapt from USB C to lightning than from lightning to USB C

Awwww mannn? This mic set sounds GREAT!!!! I've been looking for a wireless set, been researching the Ulanzi J12, but for a few more dollars, this demo sounds wayyyy better, and I'll be using it with my Osmo Action 3 as well, and with its range, I can also use it with my drone connected to USB C while taking screen recordings and doing a talk over.. You are very very welcome. I was also surprised at the crazy range it has when in line of sight and the quality. Also the fact that you can use it as a standalone recorder and then sync the audio to your video later is also a plus.
Sometimes the receiver in the microphones lose connection. Not while in use but while not in use. I made a video short on how to re pair them in case your microphones give you that green and blue rapid flash of death.

Seems to be a pretty good choice for the price considering the competition.
My only issue is the life span of the battery, although Ulanzi is a pretty known brand. Can't know if the build in battery will last for a year or more of usage.
But at this price it's worth a try.
Great review! The mic sounds actually incredible for its price point! I wasn't to sure either to go with the previous gen or these, I'll defintely be going with these! Sounds is clear without the typical tiny mic tinniness, only thing I'd say these lack is mic input on each individual mic but I mean considering its price, features and charging case its worth it
Thank you very much on the compliment. Yes these really don't sound bad for the price. Not to mention they record onboard via memory card like allll the time. While they are in the charging case they automatically turn off momentarily.
However....
As soon as you open that case, those jokers begin recording and are always ready for your receiver to connect to something so they can begin sending the audio to it. I am surprised these aren't more popular.
Alot of RUclipsrs use their phone for audio and I think these are a great replacement to that. I've mentioned there are 3 gain settings. I find these sound best in most situations in the Medium gain settings incase you decide to get these. Noise cancelling is fine in any setting. In this video I have it on Medium just so you guys can see the cancelling could be better or worse. But these really aren't that bad.
@Jonasegway 100% agree with you! The gain settings are handy, although I could notice at high gain you can begin to notice the background white noise but that's common with gain on a lot of mics I suppose!
I'll defintely be grabbing a set soon for use on my s22 and my insta360!
@@ReeceCoza make sure to take notice on that USB-C male to female adapter Incase it doesn't sit flush with your cams.
Note: I'd you order it from anywhere other then the Ulanzi website, you'll only receive the microphone. If you order from Ulanzi direct, you may get extra goodies along with your microphone but it seems to take around 10days to receive your product.
Every order I've made from Ulanzi direct came with a cool mouse pad. One of the times I got a mouse pad and a ¼thread tripod which I absolutely use a lot. But like I said...
Shipping is just a little slow when ordering direct from Ulanzi. I have ordered this new product that came out from their website around February 25th and it hasn't arrived yet. It may be at my house now, but shipping it alittle slow. If you have time, I'd order it from them direct.

Lol. I thought it was the coolest thing. I started ordering things from the actual companies because they weren't the only ones to do that.

If you are a Samsung guy, when you order from their website, you'll find accessories or shall I say colors of certain devices that is exclusive from Samsung. Next time you go to order something on Amazon, look at the company's website and see if they are giving you something complimentary to ordering whatever it is you are wanting to buy.

use an angle plug adapter , so you dont need remove the door
I thought about this but I didn't like the overhang it would present. So I went with the straight adapter which has worked out because I can lay the camera flush with a flat surface and it won't interfere through design.

Hey hey it records in real stereo. In WAV format (as far as the internal recording goes) but real stereo in general
what format does the automatic recording save files in? and also - is there a way to adjust the automatic recording levels? does it remember the volume settings set in the receiver after disconnecting? or on the next power on?
Ok give me just alittle bit of time. The recordings are in WAV format. As far as if they keep whatever the last settings from the receiver when it is connected with the receiver is a test I am about to check right now

Results?
- microphone(s) maintain the last settings they had when last connected to the receiver.
I put them in the case, closed it. Opened it back up and it was still on the last settings I had them on when they were last connected to the receiver.

First we will make a test with my old Saramonic Blink 500s and if it goes ok I will purchase this set - thanks for posting your review and taking time to check the settings for me. There's not even one info on the web about this.

Gravel as in gravel bicycle rides? These mics are pretty sensitive. I think if you place them in a low resistance area, you will be fine. I will conduct further test while at work this week. It is a constant 78-83db in my truck, so I will do some voice test while driving to see how well the noise cancellation is while still having the microphone placed somewhere like inside of my shirt with the deadcat on etc etc.
It's a pretty easy to use system after messing around with it for most of today thanks to you. So thank you as well!
I'm debating getting these or the hollyland lark c1 there's a $100 difference. Going to use it to make videos while fishing so always going to be in or around water
Ok so I was looking around at some Park C1 content and reading material and it seems to be ok in value. So here is my thoughts.....
The Ulanzi wireless mic is great value for the price in my opinion. There are so many wireless mics on the market that are even cheaper then the Ulanzi's setup but being Ulanzi which is a name brand product in general, I think their prices for this UW mic is good. The Lark C1 is $20, cheaper then the ride wireless GO II. At that price point,I wouldn't spend over $120-$140 for the Lark despite it having app support and great marketing (something Ulanzi doesn't seem to put much effort into).
The C1 is definitely spec'd better then the Ulanzi's setup with it's app support, styling and features/ ease of use. But for $179, I would buy the rode wireless GO II instead. It is way superior to the C1 in specs and performance.

@@samzilla1050 and it records as soon as you open up the charging case whether the receiver is hooked up or not! That's another reason why I said for the price it's either the Ulanzi mic or rode wireless go II.

Does this work with the cage that comes with the Osmo Action 3?
I want to say no, but if you give me exactly 30mims, I will have your 100% accurate answer. I am almost some driving
What I will say I'm the meantime is I 100% still recommend getting that mini Usb-C male to Usb-C female adapter piece
You will most likely need it one way or the other.
For example, when I use my action 3 on a GoPro style mount, the butterfly screw sticks out just far enough where I cannot screw or unscrew the screw with the receiver plugged into the USB-c port.
Another example is, while being plugged into the isb-c port, the receiver partially blocks the power button. With that adapter, it gives you more clearance access to the power button.
Ok 100 will not snap Into the action 3 with the action 3's original cage. The adapter is absolutely necessary.
hallo, cant pair the receiver with the mic .rx flashing all time red and green.any idea?
Ok this has always been tricky for me as well. Re-pairing them required patience. Holding down the button on the microphone waiting for it to accept a "reset" from holding the button down for so long.
Then connecting the receiver to a phone or camera trying to initiate the reconnection between the microphone and the receiver. I will tamper with one of my microphones and the receiver to see if I could figure out a stable method of reconnecting the microphone and receiver.
I've done it before, I just didn't record how I did it. Please allow me a few days to come up with this method and either a RUclips short or a short uploaded video on how to do this.

1. Do you have a Mini SD card in the memory card slot?
If so,
- connect your receiver to your recording device and wait for the slow flashing green light
- remove the microphone that flashes the green and blue lights rapidly from the case
- while the green and blue lights are flashing, remove the micro SD card from it and the microphone should begin to flash green slowly at the same speed as the receiver.
- re-insert micro SD card and you're good!
