A couple of things I want to address for people who don't seem to get it from this video - This video isn't ENTIRELY about T1, but overarching concepts that plague most teams. The issue is that T1 I would argue is one of the faces of LoL, so for them to have issues, also means it's everywhere, so it's an easy thing to talk about. It doesn't matter that other teams win or lose, and it doesn't matter if Faker comes back and they start winning again, a lot of these problems were there even with him. It's not having the answers that is the most important thing in the world, it's knowing how to find the answers, and no one seems interested in prioritizing the method that finds the answers rather than just having them or assuming they have them. A lot of things I try to talk about in this video can be pulled/applied from other games and doesn't just have to do with T1/LoL problems, so I hoped the video overall would be educational in that regard and supersede a general LoL talk in that regard. I don't like doing conversations like these for a lot of reasons. They cause me great stress because of how frustrating the engagement is despite all of the topics mentioned being demonstrable. It's beyond perplexing to me that demonstrable things are looked at as speculation rather than what they are. I still do these type of talks once in a blue moon, and while I will continue to coach a lot of pro players behind the scenes and have conversations and try to make impact in what little ways I can, it's a very depressing reality to watch pro play over the last few years and then be ridiculed for trying to state the obvious problem -- If you don't remove the mold, it will keep growing back no matter how much new fruit you put on top.
I think one of the things that causes low engagement on videos like these is the duration. While it is true that some people just don't want to hear that they could be doing better, most people watching these videos are more likely to be pushed away by the 42 minute video duration. Similar videos I've seen for other topics/games tend to do better (in my experience) when they are around 10 - 20 minutes long, but for that you would need to script the videos to be concise and record them separate to your streams, which would be incredibly time consuming and difficult to do. I would bet a majority of your audience is silver/gold rank, and that means that super in depth videos like this one that go into the specifics of team compositions and how you should itemize based on the ally/enemy comps start to lose the attention of people who play league for fun rather than to hit the peak of the ladder. It is true that the topics are demonstrable, but most players who are not in master+ tiers likely aren't even thinking about them and probably will never consider them in their games even after hearing about it from you. A significant number of players just take whatever the internet recommends and then build that every game until it stops working. My advice would be to pick one general issue (i.e. dying to early ganks due to poor wave/lane management) and script a 15 minute video on it with multiple examples of different people making the mistake and then how they could fix it. Sorry that was kind of a ramble, but as someone who absolutely loves seeing videos like this one from you: TLDR the engagement of these videos likely suffers because the majority of your audience isn't good enough at league to particularly care about these types of things and would rather watch something else than sit through 40 minutes of rambling about lots of different issues.
@@necrotisis920 These videos arent for silver and gold players or really any solo queue player at all. None of what LS talks about here can be applied in majority of the average league game, and is meant entirely for pro. Even in just the first 5 mins where he says split pushing is "dead" is only for pro. In solo queue, its insanely strong. Duration doesnt mean anything because if any pro wants to improve and looks to this video and sees "man 42 mins? Nah too long" then they dont want to improve.

Don't need 40 min for that. T1 were already in decline mentally after msi and the supposed 4 best players in their respective roles never learned macro cuz faker did everything for them. That's it. The talk about items runes etc are red herring cuz t1 dominated with bad items and runes
And I actually think there's basically no way out cause it's not like he's the ultimate miracle worker, how can a single person turn this whole mess around after being forced to leave due to an injury
Tbh the everything is just unfortunate for t1 currently. All of their champs are represented, especially in mid lane. All of fakers bread and butter champs are in the meta, hell with him you can even start picking kaisa mid consistently seeing that he has a lot of practice on it. All of the itemization mistakes are just… there forever in pro play sadly, but I think the drafting with faker was much better than denier current drafting. T1 has just been lost ever since faker got injured, they struggled prior to his injury yes, but spoiler they were 6-2 with him in mid. Furthermore the two losses was to GENG AND KT #1 and 2, with faker (probably) being affected by his injury for the most of it. Tbh t1 has no other option, no matter what they would do it wouldn’t work imo. Sign a decent bandaid midlander to get rid of poby? In isolation yeah it would fix some games where they just lose due to poby, but you just cannot replace faker’s experience and guidance. They were not this hesitant with faker, you also cannot slot in faker now because you will risk worsening his injury, potentially trading short term success for long term success. Replacing all the other pieces would make ZERO SENSE (outside of oner if a god teir jg is up, but tbh who would even be a god teir free agent next season?) Zeus, Guma and keria are still world class, they are in a slump right now but it’s BLATANT that it’s a mental thing, not a hands thing. (Also if you say replace faker I cannot even argue with you, not only will most mids be a downgrade, THEY WOULDN’T EVEN SIGN DUE TO THE PRESSURE OF TAKING FAKERS SPOT) Truly only a miracle can save them now, which as a t1 fan hurts a lot. It’s either faker returns with a vengeance and plays out of his mind, motivating the team. Or they somehow find a coach that will magically solve their mental problems, which is HAHAH no. Benji is the only realistic coach I can think of and he is gone. Right now the only name I can pull out of my butt is KKoma, he only has a big enough of a name that everyone in t1 will instantly listen to and the only one that (I think) has the ability to rally the troops and fix most of the macro issues. The future is grim… Thanks for coming to my mald-talk. Post faker’s return edit: This just proves that t1 is 10000000% mental based, faker did not feed like poby yes. But their macro, GOD TEIR DRAFTING, assertiveness/confidence returned the moment their father came back. Faker 100% is their main leader/motivator, fights were quick and no hesitation was spotted. Keria is being his monster self again (my theory is that the moment faker left, comms died basically and keria had to focus more on being the leader, a position that he is not ready for) and Guma doesn’t have to watch mid/Jung throw while he backpacks the entire game. Oner is the biggest question mark still, it’s either that he is demotivated with poby or faker is the one that macro’s oner. Either ways if faker stays healthy, with their current form I can see an easy top3 spot for them. If they win the split I will cry, but the only thing I want from them is top 3 to secure worlds. Anyways! Some hope is here, let’s see if it’s going to be broken in half or be rewarded.
If I told you DRX was going to win worlds in 2022, would you have believed it? Things are weird but I have faith in the script writers, they always put up a show. Also tbh If T1 falls apart in 2023, the legacy of T1 is still here, it didn't end with a final worlds win, but with something mundane like an injury, and hey, that is reality; it happens. No matter what happens I'll support Fakers decision and future as he is an irreplaceable piece of history.
honestly, i completely agree. people who call for player swaps dont really know what theyre saying. swap for who exactly? this is the team that just made world finals and went 17-1 in spring. who are you looking to swap bot lane that's better than keria at his highs? who comes in for these players, seriously? clearly the issue is something else. id beg to say it's the coach. they need a really good, consistent, long term coach. player skill is not the issue here
@@amuujin5937 that’s all a given. But guess who lost to drx? That was their worlds to lose, they underperformed (outside of guma and some keria) and lost. T1 is a completely momentum/mental based team, just look at how they performed in the upper bracket vs the lower bracket at MSI. Unless they prove us wrong, their mental is their biggest hurdle. They are genuinely the best team in the world imo, it’s just that they don’t know how to take a punch when the lights shine brightest.
@@zackrasphodos.2305 the fact that T1 is a mental team and the last thread of support that is Faker is subbed out makes a lot of sense in their recent form
Players no longer play League or even a video game at this point, they just use the same presets and compete on who presses buttons better in every coinflip
4:45 or u can go TF he has more damage then LeBlanc can go shiv if he needs to (he does not) and has long has u have ulti u cant die unless u really suck and tracking
I think there are more problems with T1 than just gameplay. They have even said they have had some internal disagreements during post game interviews. T1 are playing bad, but they were never THIS bad. Even if Faker was the one calling macro plays T1 rn are just off mechanically and in their synergy which Faker has nothing to do with.
Banning Kai'sa on blue side is absolutely insane. Imagine for a moment that tomorrow Rammus got hotfix buffed and was suddenly OP. I would completely understand teams just banning it on blue side, at least for a few months, because who the fuck plays this champion? When was the last time this champ was relevant? It is understandable that people would be slow to adjust to it. That's not Kai'Sa. Kai'Sa has been relevant several times since her introduction to League. And, right now, she is arguably the best individual champion in the game. If your adc just can't play it for some reason, that is shameful.
based on what? nothing LS says is based on reality, and I am a top engineer in my field, engineering is a perfect example of reality > hypotheticals, yes we study the shit out of theory, but in practice we always go for what is proven and tested, nothing is ever put into place without rigorous provability everything LS says exists in isolation, in his own world. Yes 1+1=2, this drag does more damage than that, this item does more than that etc, but there is no valid proof that it genuinely works better as a whole in the game for the scenarios he imagines. In science theory is just theory until proven it is not. He can't ever prove it. 10+ years of league and the free market has determined what does work, and it is not what he says. Many people go on in life like this, angry the world doesn't work the way they think it should, because they refuse to be pragmatic. Most of these people find little success in what they preach, angry and bitter. Because they are just wrong, but they can't see it. Financial markets are another great example, LS would be the type of guy who would go broke investing in financial markets based on fundamental economic theory within 5 years. He would be so perplexed and angry the market isn't behaving like he thinks it should, that he can't see what is happening right in front of him. It's fascinating and depressing lol. And this is really common, the most theory based investors are the worst ones. The best hedge funds are purely quants. They are pragmatic.

@@tofupowda your counter argument would never stand in any practical engineering based model. The onus is on the theory to prove it's existence. By default, the higher correctness probability of the 2 approaches will always be what does indeed work right now right here. There will be very few times throughout history the opposing theory will be accepted as the better model, 99.9% of ideas are thrown in the trash. It is egotistical, delusional, and flat out anti science to believe you are the one who brings the 0.01% correct idea to overthrow the current best model. We all know there is something wrong with einsteins theory of relativity at a quantum level, but until someone can prove what precisely is happening and is a better model, einsteins relativity will continue to be the best approach. LS can't grasp this concept, it is the fundamentals of science. Gun to your head, you will always pick the highest probability model. And that will be the current model. Not the theory crafting on LS streams in an echo chamber. The world is complex. 10+ years of league, the complexity of the system will find the current best way to approach the game, factors LS could never imagine, none of us could. If youre building full poke kaisa wouldnt it be better to go something else other than nashors second item? Like horizon focus or something that will make her poke better?
Back then you would go manamune for Q evolve so you can clear the wave. Cause kaisa doesn’t want to interact in lane until she has 3 items. Now with statikks it’s way more efficient as it also scales with ap and you can clear the wave instantly without having to stack tear. The next issue is, kaisa doesn’t have a lot of self peel if she doesn’t have her invis, with nashors she can evolve her W and E with only 2 items, this also gives her access to the E invisibility. So all in all the statikks and nashors combo is the most reliable
Why would you not pick First strike alternator start on non interactive champion + luden and tear. To make money printer+ future market obviously. Shouldn’t value of this path have greater value than first 10minutes of the game ? Or champions that would benefit from this path are not viable from many reasons in proplay ?
Probably pro players stick to known strats that works because it's their salary on the line. That's why you rarely see cooking in drafts because sometimes no one dares to take the risk

i think the focal point of what Zeus said in his answer to why the team is seeing a drop in their performance should be the "issues" that the team was experiencing before POBY joined. It was briefly mentioned before he smartly swept it under the rug. This obviously shows something is VERY WRONG within the team that they MUST address now. We don't know what is/are the issue(s), how long has it been going on and what are the measurements that must be taken or they have already took to change the current state of the team. Is there a need for a player change? Is Coach Tom qualified enough to solve these issues? Was Faker's absence and the resignation of Bengi really what started the downfall?? Whether they make the finals or not, there are bound to be BIG CHANGES coming at the end of this split's playoffs.
The only time I have seen sidelanes being played as a wincondition was when NNO with Agurin and Tolkin won the second division prime league (DACH region) and in the relegation tournament, when they promoted to the first division. Agurin's and Tolkin's macro game is beautiful to watch. It might legitimately be better than the macro of a lot of world class pro teams 😅 you should consider watching some of those games @LS multiple insane backdoors included 😮

Its so frustrating how League players specifically are so bone headed compared to something like DotA players, who are so open to dissecting their VoDs and the overarching meta of the game. League has so much in common with the SSBU scene, where everyone just focuses mechanics and lining up hitboxes and no one bothers with theory or fundamentals; compared to something like SF/KoF players who are so fundamental based they can pick up a new FGC title in less than a week.
theres more to just blaming everything on POBY. Like what one of the reporter asked, T1 have players all made the all stars previously and no one in their right mind would argue that they are shitty players so why did they start losing just because 1 player is down? There are underlying issues that the public doesn't know besides simply just being told "they are in a slump, they are missing their leader, their coach resigned, their new midlaner sucks"

Lots of complaining for 42 minutes about pro player mindsets, draft, and itemization and very little actual analysis of gameplay. Classic LS, over-analyzing the idiosyncrasies and micro decisions of players. T1 has GAMEPLAY problems that need to be addressed before we even start talking about how they fumble drafts or build the wrong, situational item. They aren't playing to win-cons, Oner seems to fundamentally not understand where he should be pathing, Poby struggles during team fights, no one seems to be able to shotcall. But yeah let's rant for close to an hour about what Guma's mindset is when he buys a certain item...
These idiosyncrasies and micro decisions are what's CAUSING these gameplay problems to begin with. Draft IS the win-con, they drafted a POKE HEAVY COMP and Gumayusi refused to play Poke, hence, a gameplay problem. The Win-Con was to create as much pressure as possible with pokes that BRO would not be able to even move up to contest objectives, yet they refused to play for this win-con and even chose items that seemingly reflect their disability in understanding what the "win-con" is. Ironically, the concept of "Oner seems to fundamentally not understand where he should be pathing" and "Poby struggles during team fights" are such shallow observations too. And regardless of anything you even said, pro player mindsets, draft, and itemization, all fall under the category of GAMEPLAY anyway, so why are you even create a non-argument by stating parallel observations.
@@Saeyayayayou don't seem to understand that LS said these issues persisted for 4+ years. So obviously these issues aren't causing the current meltdown since they dominated even with wrong runes or items.

Don't need 40 min for that. T1 were already in decline mentally after msi and the supposed 4 best players in their respective roles never learned macro cuz faker did everything for them. That's it. The talk about items runes etc are red herring cuz t1 dominated with bad items and runes
well bcs t1 actually shows a lot of whats wrong with proplay
T1 is just faker with 4 pobys
Always has been
For real. This is so weird
And I actually think there's basically no way out cause it's not like he's the ultimate miracle worker, how can a single person turn this whole mess around after being forced to leave due to an injury
@@LucasS541 Well...about that...
Who came up with this intro deserves a raise
I love how we're just shooting anyone and everyone 31:00 rip LCK observer
(Also if you say replace faker I cannot even argue with you, not only will most mids be a downgrade, THEY WOULDN’T EVEN SIGN DUE TO THE PRESSURE OF TAKING FAKERS SPOT)
Truly only a miracle can save them now, which as a t1 fan hurts a lot.
The future is grim…
Thanks for coming to my mald-talk.
@@zackrasphodos.2305 Then they are just the Azubu Frost/ROX/2019 G2 of this generation. Very good? Yes. Clutch? No.
Players no longer play League or even a video game at this point, they just use the same presets and compete on who presses buttons better in every coinflip
This video might be about T1 but it does teach a lot of general stuff that people can use to get better
Glad to see faker make a speedy recovery so he can continue spending time with his 4 grandsons.
4:45 or u can go TF he has more damage then LeBlanc can go shiv if he needs to (he does not) and has long has u have ulti u cant die unless u really suck and tracking
only BDD have the 'card' to play TF since no one got the balls
The thumbnail alone is gold 💀💀💀💀
If only anyone in T1 would watch this... :0
The thumbnal and intro sold it like Boris sells those BTs on ADCs
Publish some papers. Its what we'd do in engineering when shit was so obv unoptimized
based on what? nothing LS says is based on reality, and I am a top engineer in my field, engineering is a perfect example of reality > hypotheticals, yes we study the shit out of theory, but in practice we always go for what is proven and tested, nothing is ever put into place without rigorous provability
everything LS says exists in isolation, in his own world.
@@hahahobo247 yeah, it's like we need to use reusable energy instead of what we are using now but the reality is we are still relying on unsustainable energy because it is the norm since forever. He have some points tho that he cannot prove since well he doesn't have a team to excercise it to begin with
@@hahahobo247 i understand your argument and it's compelling but it falls flat in some ways. there is a lack of proof behind LS' view of the game because its applied sample size is extremely small compared to "vanilla" league of legends. your assertion would be much stronger if teams were playing LS style league of legends left and right with no results to show for it.
That is how free markets work. And that theory is not what LS wants it to be.

Poby messed up real bad in this one. Not only he looks completely lost based on his wave management even his movement and micro just made things worse
YES, def what we want here
t1 really got cinemasinned
If youre building full poke kaisa wouldnt it be better to go something else other than nashors second item? Like horizon focus or something that will make her poke better?
U get enuff AP for awaken with one item. Plus the att speed is nice.
@@CloudXIl yeah those two items is a good call. It just pains me that as LS pointed out guma chose rageblade over ludens

You have to take into account that the teams they performed these feats against are nowhere near the level of T1 etc. It probably doesnt work against good teams

When you realize that Coach Kim in 2020 had better draft comps back then
Yeah, just Effort inting most of the time, Cuzz afk-ing, Faker having one of his worst year, Teddy playing for lategame and Canna being a rookie. But tbh noone would be a great coach, for this obnoxious fandom
@@combeebrian247 even LS wouldn't. Just imagine how T1 will resolve most of it's issues by having him as a coach
@@combeebrian247 Cuzz was clutch during the summer playoffs, he led the shotcalling when faker was out and clozer was in. Effort is a coinflip, but had decent games especially his bard, canna literally had the most solo kills in a split during spring. I'm pretty sure T1's issue here is ego picking and not being able to diversify their playstyles and adapt to the meta, when zeri is in meta t1 struggles cause they let their ego rather than actually practicing with zeri, no wonder guma has like the least zeri games played. as somebody who got death threats shouldnt he understand it that such things are necesarry?
He's not trying to defend Poby, he actually doesn't see the lane phase errors or you can't say what Umti did was smart, because Umti makes the decision prior to the errors happening. You don't need to lie in order to defend someone, you can find other ways to do it.

T1 BEST IN EVERY ROLL. ALL LCK FIRST TEAM. GREATEST PLAYERS OF ALL TIME.
Its so frustrating how League players specifically are so bone headed compared to something like DotA players, who are so open to dissecting their VoDs and the overarching meta of the game. League has so much in common with the SSBU scene, where everyone just focuses mechanics and lining up hitboxes and no one bothers with theory or fundamentals; compared to something like SF/KoF players who are so fundamental based they can pick up a new FGC title in less than a week.
you might like melee then its pretty fundamentals based
You could just make a video of poby clips
Ooh someone doesn’t get it
Poby is the problem 🤡
theres more to just blaming everything on POBY.
