What do you mean you don't like seeing copious amounts of makeup applied to the skin (so you have to go out and buy more) and then removed with a beauty sponge?

My utmost excitement when I saw John Maclean’s new fillum, I wanted to scream but I don’t want to use too much face muscle to avoid aging fast so I took a deep breath, and moved my lips ever so slightly to resemble a small smile.

I have long straight donkey eyelashes and I can fully relate to what the eyelash curler did to John's friend's lashes. That story made me laugh so much, and honestly the entire film brought me a lot of joy. It's so wonderful to see John back on youtube

As a similarly translucent person, I find that blanking out my eyelids first really helps my looks appear more seamless, so that the color of my veins does not make it appear that my shadow is not properly blended.

I had massive cold sores around the same time and the exact same locations as John and seeing that being mentioned made me fee much better about it. Cold sores can be so disheartening.

Listen, I don’t watch MUAs, I’m mainly here to watch vivarium artists and trades how-to’s, but John explains things in such a manner that the technicalities translate in detail even to me, a makeup non-participant. While obviously meant for the specific purposes demonstrated the techniques are still useful elsewhere and information just, well, interesting 😂

The Neutrogena Light Therapy Pen is absolutely brilliant for treating cold sores. The packaging says it is designed for acne but my partner suffers terribly with cold sores and this works brilliantly for preventing and treating them. He uses it several times a day when he gets the tingly feeling and now they don’t ever get to the big, angry stage and disappear quickly. Hope this helps someone! 🙂
myself and my cousin both also suffered with them, her so much moreso, never not having one all through high school/ were both now free of them and havent had one in years..... i hope it goes this way for him, too!!! they're the worst and affect your confidence so much!

What I love about John is the way he explains things with such detail and articulate sentences, but before you notice he has caught you with a joke about imps entering his fortress to steal eyelash curlers or wakes you up with a donkey noises. The duality!

I think it’s so amazing how John uses the most minimal amount of pigment for the makeup, it creates ART. The look comes out phenomenal, you wonder how it was achieved, even after watching it form before your very eyes. God I wish I was this good at makeup. So soothing, so relaxing, so informative.
