So glad to find this video. I see that you have a Pilea as tall as mine. I thought mine was some mutant....from nuke power plant water. I had an urge, but not a real big urge, to chop it down a few inches, but wouldn't do that 'till spring. It's now Jan 2023 and I live in New England. I won't be cutting it down. I gave my daughter a pup from this plant so will be checking in with her to see how it's going. Thanks for this information. I also like putting my plants in nursery pots with all those holes. Then using decorative cover pots. I had no idea for a long time what those cover pots were for. Who would buy a hole-less pot for their plants? I thought. Lesson learned. Thanks again.

Thank you. This video was extremely helpful! I am about to pot one of these up, but I wasn’t sure if this plant needed extra care. It’s my first

If you don't like it being tall you can cut the top off and put it in water to grow a whole new plant the same size. And when you do that the original plant will send out all kinds of new shoots (babies) from the stem which can also be propagated. Seems like almost overnight. This plant is amazing! I love mine. I have my mother plant on my kitchen counter under florescent lights and it grows like crazy. Have some babies propagating now that I'm fixing to put in dirt. Thanks for sharing and I look forward to your office plant tour.

I actually have two of these! I bought one from Planterina and I got the second one for free when they ran a deal for it. They’re both really young, in four inch pots, but they already have pups!! I’m curious about how easily you pulled the babies off though because I’ve seen other videos where they use a knife to slice it off. I’m thinking maybe that’s because these pups were still really young?
Anyway, I am just getting the hang of feeling the leaves to tell if it needs to be watered, so that’s exciting!! I also just got worm castings so I’m going to repot them, back into the same pots, but add in the worm castings for them.
    Thank you for sharing!! 💜💚🪴🥰

I have done both where I have cut the stems with a knife but that is usually when it is a thicker stem and then also have don’t it the way I showed you in the video. Regardless of the ways you pull them from the plant they have always at least for me produce roots fairly quickly. It’s crazy how easy this plant is to care for and to propagate. Truly one of my favorite plants. Good luck with two.
