  • I had no plans to repot this guy this soon, but I noticed his babies were getting out of hand and taking up a lot of energy so it was time to give him more space.
In this video I'm repotting the Pilea Peperomioides, moving him up from a 4 inch container pot to an 8 inch. I also decided to remove and propagate a few of his babies.
I did have my Go Pro set up so I can capture a close up of this repotting and propagating, but it wasn't on while filming, so I'm sorry you guys couldn't get a closer look. But hopefully you still find this video helpful.

@@solamsdale9568 they are usually sold as babies because those are easier to ship and mass produce. However, you can grow a misshapen baby into a beautifully symmetrical adult. I would suggest turning you baby regularly to promote even growth. If any leaves are damaged or missing, they will most likely fall off, but new ones will grow. The bigger your pilea gets, the easier it will be to maintain symmetry. I hope that helps!

This plant is one of the easiest to care for. Mine is already growing new leaves from the center. I absolutely love it, you guys have to try it. I got mine at my local Trader Joe's store for $6.95 for a plant, it was only about 3.5 inches tall when I got it couple of weeks ago and it is growing fast. Don't forget to rotate it so it can grow evenly as he explains in the video.

    Amazing plant and pups!
Guess what I finally bought today? A CHINESE MONEY PLANT! It is a small plant in a 4" pot for $4.98. It has a pup too.
My friend runs a local plant shop. She got a new supplier, who has some wishlist plants. I also bought a small Teardrop Plant for the same price. I bought a medium Goldfish for $5.98. She also gave me a 20%. SCORE!
Yesterday I bought a 10" Brazil for $10.98. It was from my Home Depot. Another good score!
Hope you have a good one,

Thank you for making your videos short and to the point with less chitchat, yet you are entertaining and sometimes funny, especially with some of your introductions. It helps that you speak fast. I find myself fast-forwarding if a video is too long. You break it down in segments as a separate video as well, even if it is the same plant. This helps too. God bless you and your new business / shop.

I have a question for you since you were such a huge help with one of my other plants... I have a huge ficus that I bought and repotted it. Well the roots were so fine that I decided to leave most of the nursery soil around the roots and filled the rest of the pot with excellent well draining soil... well the well draining soil has completely dried out and the nursery soil around the roots are still damp and it’s been 2 weeks! What should I do? The leaves have brown spots on them now and falling off.

Excellent video, very instructive, to the point and lots of important detail. Question: My pilea has five babies but the central gowing plant has completely died back... I unknowingly cut the stalk back to 3 inches, thinking it would bush out. Probably very wrong. Now I am thinking to split off all the five babies into separate plants. Do I need to root each of them as shown in the video? or can they just get separated and planted directly into soil in separate pots. What would be the best thing to do? Thanks.
