What amazes me about Chante Moore is that she doesn't have the notoriety that she deserves. If you asked 10 people who Chante Moore was I would be surprised if more than 2 might know her name. In short, she is an amazing talent.
They were two very different artists. Chante kept her clothes on and stayed on the jazz tip. There's something to be said for still being able to leave your house and do everyday normal things without the world swarming all over you. Chante still has a healthy career and more money than most people. She doing alright. It's alright.
I totally agree with you with the fact that a lot of people won't know her. But let's face it, every artist has their genre, very few cross over out of their natural zone. I don't expect others to know her because their interests won't lead them deep enough into R&B, let alone R&B when she was at the top of her hay-day. Maybe she just didn't have that Whitney Houston or Michael Jackson marketing, but then again, they crossed over and back and over, again and again. But I'm pretty sure the "real" R&B fans of the 90's and 2000's remember her. And yes she is an amazing talent..........not just another pretty face.
The fact that she is not more well known and regarded is a mystery to me. She is tremendously talented and a great performer. The music biz owes her giant props.
