Dressupbolts.com has awesome titanium bolts for the engine bay. I bought some for my 06 STI and I absolutely love em. They come in the burnt color, gold, blue, purple, and chrome I believe.
killer b oil pickup...without a doubt. especially if reliability is your primary concern. walbro fuel pump and killer b should be the next two on your list without a doubt mang
Don’t be afraid to do the pump either guys... it’s dog shit easy and you’ll wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. Fairly sure walbro do a drop in kit for a couple hundred aud.
I’d upgrade fuel pump, injectors, top mount and tune for a moderate power upgrade and keep the reliability. I’d also consider header upgrade I have ELH as opposed to the non ELH. Those small upgrades with your suspension will make a world of difference
Karl Torres biggest pro your engine won’t blow up or spin a bearing due to lack of oil, the factory pickup is very brittle and can break by the vibrations of the fuel pump at higher rpms, so there’s a couple of companies who make them, but I just like killer b better and they sell a whole kit, with the upgraded pickup and a bigger oil pan as well. Also Danny already has and AOS so with an upgraded pickup he will have more peace of mind that his engine won’t lose oil and make his engine get messed up. I think those two mods are one of the most important if you want reliability from the Ej engines.
Front mount intercooler! Helps a lot an still reliable. Plus adds a little exterior to the front end it showing through the front bumper! Would look sick on your STI
Definitely interested in suspension upgrades as well. You should do a more in depth video on your suspension set up and what are your thoughts on the setup. Keep up the good content guys!
Danny, could you make a comparison video between all the gens of Sti please? Not just spec list but how expensive are they to modify comparatively, common problems you guys faced or what to look for when buying each gen. A video of ANY of these three comparisons would be great help. Thank you.
Rezwan Racin the 08+ are basically the cheapest to modify lightly as you can retain the stock ecu setup to tune for heaps of mods. Stock ecu can control boost, afr and timing etc. The sump are an issue on the 05 and below as they can have oil surge issues when under high g forces. 06+ have the ej25 sump which is as good as a killer b baffled sump. The transmissions in the wrx/sti of the 08+ are significantly stronger than previous models. As well as gaining DCCD control on the STI. The 05 and below wrx with the 5spd are pretty weak. Also the 09-13 wrx have pretty much the sti turbo. 👍
@@finnba_h Ahh. That's too bad. I am really fond of the tame look of a blobeye. I find the newer rex's too aggressive-looking. Thank you for your response, man!
@@rezwanracin4881 yea man the 05 sti is one of the greatest ever made because it has the 5x114.3 hubs and a plated rear LSD as well as the good ol forged 207. The 04 and 03 blobeye have 5x100 so they wear out the hubs a bit quicker. If you can find a genuine 05 sti they are amazing!
2 mods that would help make your car more reliable is a grimmspeed top mount intercooler and the grimmspeed intercooler shroud, it would make the air going on to your engine more cool and a lot less chances of blowing up because of the bigger intercooler core, it is much bigger than stock and it will make your turbo spool faster too
Love your car and your channel bro! The music lately has been absolute 🔥🔥 I really dig that suspension and feel of the car is your priority! I fee like so many people neglect suspension upgrades and as you know, that's what makes these cars shine! I just installed a Cobb adjustable short shifter on my car, and wow, highly recommend it! Especially if you're planning to do shifter bushings! 👍🏻👍🏻
I'm running the Invidia G200 on my WRX and i love it! I bet that will sound even better on your STi 😎. Great video as usual. Can't wait for the next MOD you have in store! 👍
I think the exhaust you were thinking about in the video was the invidia g200, it would sound so good in your car and it has a resonator so you will get back the deep Subaru rumble
Power mods should be aftermarket tmic, Cobb flex fuel, and next size up turbo perhaps a 16g for low spool or 18g very insane on top end power that build should yield around 350-390whp and that’s literally all you’d need! and backup money for a new oem shortblock lol don’t waist your money on a built block unless your going over 400whp
The standard mods with basically all STI's are intake, fuel pump, injectors, turboback exhaust and a 3 port boost solenoid. You could also go a bigger top mount and e85 which will make the turbo the limiting factor. The ej207 has factory forged pistons and a semi closed block which makes it very strong, up to @ ~300atwkw so the turbo would be the limiting factor. You would see around 230- 250kw at the wheels with the stock turbo and all supporting mods. However I'm not too sure where you live there are tuners that can tune the stock ecu for those models. Also I'm not too sure about boost control with your specific model. You might have to use an electronic boost controller. You might have to look into aftermarket ecu's/piggybacks as the tune is the MOST important part of keeping it reliable. Without a tune you can either run too rich/lean, overboost, or too advanced/retarded timing. With these models the stock ej207 sump can be prone to oil surge issues under high g forces. To avoid that you could go either a baffled sump eg killer b or an ej255/257 sump from an 06 onwards. A bigger alloy radiator is a good idea too as you only drive it in the summer. It will be amazing to drive after all this work so keep pushing man!
Finn H 04-07 USDM STI's come with 257's, that do not have forged pistons from factory, the stock top mount will prove efficient until about 400whp, not that the stock turbo could push that high. He could push 325whp comfortably with where he's at now. I wouldn't go much higher than that power wise without doing something to the motor. Other suggestions people are giving like the oil pickup and ewg are good ideas.
Forged internals? But definitely an upgraded oil pickup, one of the weakest links of the ej, last thing you want is oil starvation. killer b is a good suggestion
Bpv just to have fun, and you won’t need a tune like a bov. if you want to send it, but being safe?... Turbo inlet, TGV deletes, up pipe, big intercooler (I know is hard to install a fmic with those fog lights) and you will feel the car completely different.
Need drilled n slotted rotors. Makes a big difference Night n day. Have a 07 sti n a 2011widebody sti hatch. Have a beautiful subi. 1st its just a car n over time n countless hours wrench time it becomes apart of you
I think to not get too deep into the engine a bigger top mount and a turbo inlet wouldn't hurt.....and to prolong the life of your subie CYLINDER 4 MOD....i just did it on my 16 STi and should keep temps lower in cylinder 4
What size tires are you running? Does it rub at all in the rear? Also with the tires, does eliminate any turn radius? Im building my fa20, but i have my 04 Sti that is coming up in 2022. So im asking because i love how you have your fenders set up...super clean build brah!
Danny I suggest you just clean up your engine bay and make it more reliable buy getting a welded oil pan and and a killer bee oil squirter . You can get forged internals to help make power in the future but greatly increase reliability
he doesnt need an oil cooler, hes not pushing that much power nor is he tracking. He should get an air oil separator, I'm not sure if that's what you meant.
If he plans on building it in the future he's gonna need one so why not get one now? At the end of the day its what I recommend lol whether he gets one or not is completely up to him. Good day sir @@Madvillian
I think you should do a bigger top mount and radiator for ur next engine mods. Do you have an external wastegate since you are running a catless downpipe?
What aftermarket head unit is in the car? Also are you running it with the OEM speakers, if so, how does it sound? Sorry if you already mentioned this in the video, I might've missed it!
not sure if you'd like other people's opinions, but I run the same AOS and in my case ive noticed less oil consumption than before when I wasn't running one, but this may also be due to the fact that I have an oil cooler. Fuel pump and dump valve for power mods and it’ll be spot on 👌 get some bucket seats as they are a great mod for a better driving experience imo

Front Mount Intercooler + Bov ? Or A External wastegate setup "screamer pipe" !! (For Engine mod ideas)
Can confirm I have a external wastegate and she fucking screams when I hit boost
Get a Killer B Motorsport oil pickup and oil pan. Loving the Blobeye man🔥🔥

equal length headers (wrapped), wrap your downpipe as well, killerB oil pick up and pan, silicon turbo inlet, front mount intercooler,
For engine i think a killer b oil pick up and baffle is a good upgrade for reliability. Then fuel system mods. Bigger injectors, fuel pump, etc.

Killer B oil pickup and baffle, you can still reuse your oil pan. Unless you need that additional quart

One of my favorite mods and I think would look good on your car, is a fmic (front mount inter cooler)

All the Subarus looking crazy good
Do a complete fuel system upgrade, not too expensive once you see the boost in power you can get, and it just gives your motor a little insurance 👌

Equal length headers man! More efficient exhaust flow and better heat control. You’ll lose rumble but gain reliability.
Max Paterra I’m not sure if too many sti owners wanna lose the rumble it is what makes the car sound good. I wouldn’t do it to my STI
