Playing electric after acoustic is the best feeling. You can clearly hear all the notes in your chords.
i always play better after because on accoustic I need to be more precise
fuk nah crank that amp and rock tf out
You need a nicely set up acoustic. My new acoustic plays better than my strat that hasn't been set up in years haha
True that. I thought my fingers were too weak for tapping, until I tried it on electric and heard how clean it sounded...
Lmao I love this comments section
That G chord, was so good...
that was the best g chord i heard in me life
Freeeeee biiiirrrdddddd yeeeaaaaaa
that would never be the same with distortion...
It was so crisp
so crisp that i would munch it out
But you can go to acoustic if you started with an electric. It took me 17 years of electric before I got my first acoustic. It was kind of like learning guitar again 😉
Going from acoustic to electric in my experience is like going from driving a rig truck to a compact car, bending, tapping, and barre chords are so much easier
@@AK-hr9pm Going from electric to acoustic I had the pleasure of experiencing those sore fingertips all over again…ahh the memories.
you waited WAY too long, bro
@@rogergeoffrion3723 aww yes
@@jacksampsonforever I know, it actually happened thanks to my wife encouraging me to get one. Electric is still my main choice but the acoustic definitely helped me to be creative in a different way. Many of those ideas would then find their way to my electric guitar.
love both equally but I think starting on electric made me appreciate the acoustic more. the tougher battles feel more rewarding, idk if its age but its warm and rewarding while electric is smooth and chaotic feeling (both cool sensations)
i don’t know why most people start on acoustic, since it’s the noticeably more difficult one to learn
@@datutturugang666 It's alot more common because for electric you need cables and amps and there's more customisation which can be daunting so, for a begginer, knowing they can just pick up an acoustic and start playing without setup is more intriguing
@datutturugang666 electric guitar is just more expensive (in my country, at least)
@@datutturugang666because acoustic and classical dont require any set up, you just take it and play it. Electric seem more complicated for a beginner because you also hace to have an amplifier and know how the switchers in the guitar itself work (ik some people dont ecen touch them, but beginners dont know that hahah) so it seems more intimidating. Also acoustic is more known for chords (from a beginner pov) while electric is more about finger technique, so it seems harder from the outside perspective
I played the electric guitar for about 8 years before i got my first acoustic. My god that transition was so brutal.
How so
@@TommyYoungMusicacoustic is SO much more harsh than electric 😭😭😭
@@clovermedia. I used to play acoustic a couple of years ago but have since lost my finger calluses. Bought an electric this week and the callus building period is so much less painful this time around 😅
@@clovermedia.why?
@@user-bq9cw7no1r thick strings
I started from Acoustic to Electric. Switch back and forth because its fun.
But if I were to give a brief description how it feels like every time you switch, Electric -> Acoustic is like NEW GAME+ on video games. Where you know the chords, but with harder fretboard to play and thicker strings.
Hey, I have been playing acoustic for 3 years, will switching to electric guitar be easier I can play Barre chords perfectly and can fingerstyle some, but I have never ever played an electric and I wanna buy it? Would it be good for me?
@@kned7288 your best bet would be to go to a guitar store and try one but yes, it will be easier
@@kned7288 I cant exactly say it would 100% be good for you. Based on my experience, yes it is slightly easier to play on the electric rather than the acoustic guitar.
I suggest you to go and test some electric guitars from a guitar store, and decide for yourself if you want to have one. I did this the first time, also learnt how important pedals and amplifiers are for the electric.
Wait I didn't know Electric Guitars had thinner strings
I will never forget that time when I was 14 when I transitioned from acoustic to electric, I felt that I could play more songs that I wouldn't of played with acoustic
im going from acoustic to electric in november hopefully it feels same way you did
@@daniels247 believe me, you'll be able to play way more songs and riffs that you've never experienced before
Enjoy acoustic and electric
*have
@@daniels247 soo?
@@daniels247 how did your journey went pal?
I started on acoustic and played on one for years before I went to electric. There’s something so special about hearing and feeling the body resonate. I’d rearrange my favorite songs (usually The Cure) for acoustic, making use of the open strings to make my one guitar do the work of an entire band plus all the effects. I think my approach to playing nowadays, with open ringing chords and drone notes and all that, came from learned how to do the electric things without using electricity.
That said, my electrics are out far more often than my acoustic.
There is no going back - until you get a 335 and realize you can do both at once
Pretty chords on the neck, Tube Screamer on the bridge
Great, now I want a 335 thanks
YESSS, I just got a 335 for this exact reason 🙌🏽
The best
@@GuitarQueero1 I’ll sell ya one 😂
335 is it's own animal. Tele/Paul/Strat/335.. you need one of each. Then get an acoustic.
We acoustic players have lost a member☹️
Wouldn't happen if you played a better instrument :P
Play both!
I'm a hybrid
@@zynosgd9982 there is no such instrument
I would play both I just don’t own an electric. Soon. Very soon…
I’d like to try acoustic now, having played electric for 2 years now
hell, maybe even classical because I like fingerpicking
I went from classical to tele in 6 years.
Same, i might buy a jazzmaster or buy a classical for my next upgrade
Yo dude I remember your assoluto vids back in the day this is the last place I thought I would find you lmao
@@Rui_Gax heyy, well since we're here I have a bunch of original pieces hidden in my "music" playlist. I'm not super proud of them all but it's sorta like my progress log. Most of the "a gift" things are from my unfinished first year of playing kind of songs
i plan on doing more vids btw, once i have more time since i'm in uni now. and there will be my own tracks in them too i guess
@@ej22_gc86 ok m8 I will check it out
Going from acoustic to electric was beautiful for me, highly recommended for beginners
“There is no going back!” **Eric Clapton Unplugged has entered the chat**
realest of the reals
"I've never felt like this before"... That was exactly what I felt when I played electric for the first time.
Literally me. I tried a classmate's tele in early 2020 and ended up getting my own strat about 9 months ago. Haven't touched my acoustic in at least a year
Shameful you must play the acoustic
Shameful you must play acoustic
Shameful you must play the acoustic
Shameful you must play the acoustic
Shameful you must play the acoustic
I have been playing and training my acoustic guitar, but I haven't played an electric guitar yet... One day, I really want to take an electric guitar and just take a solo as I do with my acoustic... I don't know how it will be for me, but I hope It will be AWESOME for sure. As more I hear an electric guitar sound, more I feel like playing it.
Dude same
@@kned7288 Man I bought an electric IT'S AMAZING, the feeling it gives you is incredible, I highly recommend you to have one if you can, trust me it will be amazing for you, as it was for me!
@@artgus1356 I wish I had enough money 🥲
That hits hard. I remember discovering the overdrive button on my first practice amp a few days after getting it and not understanding why my guitar didn't sound electric, then everything changed.
Played an acoustic for the first half year or so and now been playin both for like 2/3 years, love them both. Really like the acoustic for complex chords and to sing and play harmonica over.
Love your videos... like, every time! Played acoustic forever! And played with acoustic since I was 2 years old. LOL! 1955... a good year. I think I've played acoustic since before there was electricity. Yesterdays gig, big crowd... 911 Concert Benefit and I was definitely "Plugged in Hot!" Electric has every use and more. I still play the same 64 Gibson J-45, my voice since 1965. K and K sound expression and a Sans Amp through the boards. And yes, I do play electric... woo you are good sir! Sam, soon to enjoy 70!
Playing an acoustic is fun, because you're taking an inanimate object and bringing it to life
Playing loud distorted electric is fun because you're taking something which is out of control and taming it
I played acoustic for about a year before I started playing electric, mainly because I didn’t have an electric and I started learning my favorite solos on acoustic so the switch was a lot easier once I got my electric
Great tone!
And yes… there is no going back :)
Love it😊 takes me back to when I first started playing and the electric guitar still number one for me today
Love your vids
Acoustics... We lose One of Us 😔
"There IS no going back!"
I'll never give up from my acoustic he has a special place in my hearth.
So glad I found your channel
Love your vids.
Cool channel bro. New sub!
The acoustic is the perfect instrument, you only need a strap, a pick and a case, but the electric combined with some pedals can make a song timeless, but still acoustic guitar is very versatile and beautyfull
y acoustic can make the same
Started acoustic. Got a strat. Learned to play lead. Now I like jamming out some solo stuff on the acoustic. Play my Martin like a strat on the regular. Got 10-44 strings on the Martin and 9-42s on my strat.
You learn the importance of chord structure with accoustic
Bruh that was really cool G CHORD 😆
My man, that acoustic is beautiful
Getting my first electric guitar from acoustic was awesome. Getting my first humbucker guitar was EVEN MORE awesome.
I love em both
wow mike you've come so far! now you have a budget to hire three actors!
best comment so far😂
Just got an acoustic afew days ago and my life changed
I went backwards, started onto electric and them got into acoustic
My string snapped again on my electric so I tossed that piece of $675 shit in the corner in favor of my $65 accoustic I found for free. It has had its strings on for a year.
5 OUT OF 6 WERE STILL IN TUNE AFTER 6 MONTHS OF NOT PLAYING ON IT BRUV.
@@dankelpuff8381 just play both
Travis Meeks: Imma break logic
I have acoustic , electric and classical, honestly, I like them all. One thing I've noticed is that I spend 80%+ of my time on the electric guitar modifying the settings of pedals or amplifier rather than start learning the guitar and playing. I feels electric guitar tone projection and effects becomes more an addiction rather than guitar learning. While for acoustic I directly start playing with a standard beautiful acoustic sound and I enjoy that. No worry for settings, I love both my instruments, but I think I like the versatility to play acoustic on stage without amplification bringing only my acoustic, or plug in if I want. Plus, I got a rhythm instrument as bonus :D
I play worship at church or events, and I've found when we are 2 strummers, I would 100% prefer to go on my electric guitar for leading part (like Hillsongs). I guess I should start learning to play on bottom of the neck to be confident on electric (Caged system or so I guess ?) !
Started on a crappy old acoustic with action set way too high and am forever grateful for that 😂
you seem chill.
Literally me. Bought my silversky and I can't wait to try it out.
In the meantime I'm stuck soloing on my acoustic.
It's just not the same.
Electric is fun when I feel like playing parts of songs or just want to hear a a crunchy sound, but to me the acoustic is so much more fun and interesting to play. It also has percussive elements electric can't match.
started on acoustic and tried out electric one time. i found myself pressing down the strings so damn hard.
Exactly like that
That final line made me subscribe 🤣🤣
You're absolutely right there is no going back. I remember the exact second I found distortion in 1978. I haven't shut it off since
The words at the end... That is so true!
Damn….. this is awesome!!! And true
acoustic is pretty hard, which is why I recommend it for beginners. Especially if the only guitar you own is a 40 year old worn out classical guitar like mine with 10 year old strings… mmmmm the buzz…. The fret buzz… The noise they make when you take your fingers off…. The massive neck that I can’t reach across! (Don’t get me started on the fact I cannot adjust my bridge or neck). When I switch to electric, I can be sure there will be no sloppy technique due to the tortures of my classical guitar.
Literally me with my band. So accurate
My brother who’s a pro guitar player dropped off his Epiphone Les Paul that he had a lot of work done too. It plays great and I finally don’t hate Barchords.
My dad who works at Nintendo bought me a case of Coors light when I turned 18 and a prostitute

Got my first electric two weeks ago after playing acoustics for 11 years, they are so similar and so different....
"THERE IS NO GOING BACK" felt that
I can relate so much
I’ve never once picked up an electric guitar. Been playing acoustic everyday for about a year now so I’m real keen to
Cool video Mike thanks for posting mate, just made the switchover myself. I love acoustic still but playing electric is so much easier😂
Its so true that hurts
For my first guitar my parents got me an acoustic and it felt so hard to me so I just stopped trying. But I’m looking to buy an electric now to learn
Ok so just bought a guitar (electric) and I try to get distortion out of the amplifier it came with. Doesn't do so good. Is there an attachment I can put between the cord and amplifier to make it have distortion

Just quietly That tone was killer !
That guitar is beautiful.
i just became an electric player and i love distorion even in wonderwall
"can you just let the big bois worry about that?" 😂😂
i learnt for the first 2-3 years on acoustic and when i got a strat i needed to put 11s on just to not pull the high e off the fretboard
I played acoustic and classical for like 2 years at that time I was struggling to do barre chords and other stuff my fingers were paining all the time
UNTIL at school I took an electric guitar from one of our mentors without permission cuz he never allowed us to play it
I tuned it and the I played on it
best feeling ever
the first time a played a barre chord perfectly
and now I have an electric guitar!!
I’ve done trumpet and seen/heard violin with distortion. Now I demand to hear a drum solo with distortion.
Duuude this is a handsome Gibson Les Paul that you have there
The transition from acoustic to electric began for me when i started listening to rock.
To people who know. I want to know that sometimes i play note on acoustic guitar and sound do not came out great,it likes i don't put my left finger better on the fret.
(On electric guitar do the same?)
Facts I tried electric and I’m saving up rn

Do you have any idea how amazing an electric acoustic guitar is? Especially when you start tapping. It's acoustic with electric with percussion.
SO TRUE
Dang ma man started on les poul it is like having your first time with professional
Epic
Could please someone explain me what's the difference between acoustic with distortion and elec with dist? Don't they sound the same????
I often teach friends how to play guitar, but usually suggest starting out on the acoustic. Transitioning from acoustic to electric is far less brutal than transitionong from electric to acoustic
This is facts, I got one today.. and legit came up with a solo within an hour
I started with acoustic, then about four months later I went to electric and I still play both
0:00 "So you bought a guitar and you gung it on your wallll"
There is going back. So many guitarists have ditched their electric guitars to play fingerstyle covers of pop songs, slapping, tapping and scratching their acoustic.
Exactly 💯, I prefer classical picking
He’s right, there is no going back.
Epic Ending 😂
It's like Goku coming back from King Kai planet.
I recently played the electric guitar properly for the first time, it is *soooo strange*
I play purely acoustic for 3 years soon and the heaviness of the body, the absolutely different proportions and different dynamics of playing (less notes, less dirt, all these knobs and buttons) just killed me on the spot in the guitar store
*BUT I WANT MORE,* the loudness and the slinky feel and the prettiness are so good, after NewYear we gon come to some other store with my fella and try out other guitars
Nah but that tone is 🔥
Lol as a drummer, I'll watch from the floor where we belong
i play acoustic but im about to get an electric soon
I feel some Readymade vibes from the solo
all jokes aside your really an amazing guitarist
