Hopper is such a great villain, you hate him, but you can’t deny he’s not stupid and has great speaking and speech technique, god I love this movie more after my recent rewatch
You listen to me, my boy. I've made a living out of being a failure, and you, sir, are not a failure. One of the best lines! Amazing film. I am Heimlich... I'm a beautiful butterfly.
@@theaveragecritic3308 you said it! The climax is easily one of the best in Pixar’s history as well. It was so engaging and heart racing to me as a kid and still is now.
@@theaveragecritic3308this is a movie that has so many aspects that one could argue against it, but it’s also just… one of those where despite it all, the arguments make sense but don’t fit, and the movie is still at the end of the day very fun, and somehow amazing
As much as I enjoy this movie, one thing I feel they really should've fixed was the whole "Liar Revealed" story. Like sure Flik brought circus bugs that he mistook for warrior bugs, but he didn't realize that til it was too late. Not only that but Princess Atta isn't exactly innocent either since she sent Flik away on what was basically a fools mission. Flik believed he was being sent to actually find warriors, when in reality, she just wanted him outta the way. A simple work around I feel would be where when Flik and Atta exchange their own fears to each other, like how Atta feels pressure from the collony, and Flik feeling like everyone is just waiting for him to f..k up, they would both come clean. Like Atta would admit that she just wanted Flik outta the way given his recent mishap with the food getting sent into the ravine via his intention, and Flik would be understanding and say that he kinda knew that Atta and the others didn't really believe in him, and he just wanted to prove them wrong. Then when PT Flea comes to collect the circus bugs, thus revealing that Flik brought circus bugs that he mistook for warriors, everyone would be shocked by this, but Princess Atta would come to Flik's defense and be like "So what if they happen to be circus bugs? These clowns rescued Princess Dot from a hungry bird, and helped us build this fake bird! Because of Flik and his band of Circus Bugs, we actually have a fighting chance against the grasshoopers!". Or something like that. Yeah I know that might remove about 10 minutes from the film. Bringing it from 90 minutes to 80 minutes, but what'd you people think?
Yes, I liked "A Bug's Life" as a child, but I had to watch the documentary known as "The Pixar Story" to really appreciate what this film did for Pixar. It helped them break through what is known as "second product syndrome." See, after the hype from "Toy Story" died down, some people feared that Pixar may not have been able to capture that lightning in a bottle a second time.
Bless you for making this video, when people talk about classic Pixar movies, they tend to overlook this movie almost all of the time. It's my personal favorite Pixar movie of all time.

I loved A Bug’s Life. Dot was my favourite character because it was nice to see a spunky younger character at the time. I know a lot of people now would say kid characters are annoying, but when you’re young, you like to see kids around your age contribute to the story
A Bug’s Life is one of my favourite movies of all time, I always recommend it to people looking to watch a movie because I know how much little recognition this movie gets. The characters and story are just amazing, the jokes are brilliant. I always come back to this movie and I am very curious about Hopper and Molt’s dynamic. I try to keep the Bug’s Life fanbase alive by drawing pictures as well.
I just finished re-watching it. I loved it as a kid and it's always nice when you go back to it and really understand how good it is with the graphics, jokes and references... it is indeed an incredibly underrated Pixar classic.

No, it doesn’t need a sequel. We all need to wake up and see that sequels are unnecessary, especially now. Just because a movie is good or you liked it doesn’t mean it needs a follow up, we need to enjoy movies for what they are and stop cash cowing them
I feel like we wouldn’t get a sequel because a majority of the cast had passed away. Kinda sucks this is one of the few Pixar films that didn’t get any form of continuation excluding the Disney World short
