    I just got the extreme bundle upgrading from a g29. I got the wheel rim but I also plan to get the McLaren gt3 wheel but now that way I’ll have 2 rims. Didn’t really think I needed the podium as I’m not really trying to go above 10 or 12 nm other than just for the novelty of feeling it out. I don’t want to be exhausted. But I’m super excited. Also luckily a day after I bought the bundle some guy randomly put his v3 pedals up for sale right down the street.
    Now I just need to upgrade my chassis and then pc and I’m all good

    • @reviewforthetube6485

      Well if it's ps5 base yes. Because the dd prod is 600 for the 8nm base alone now. The dd+ is 999 in that case ido feel its worth it and you will never need to upgrade. Also you will have headroom in pc sim racing. I think about longevity, not just what's this money costing me up front.

    • @reviewforthetube6485

      But yes especially on gt7 it's worth feeling more since gt7 ffb is soso subpar. So the 15nm is going to help. Also the slew rate of 6.2nm/ms which means it is officially the fastest wheel on the market for said forced to transfer through the wheel. Well ots as fast as the best 30nm wheels that is. Also the full force coming will be a further nice addition. All I know is the dd+ has the best ffb I've ever felt.

It is really strong and I did dial the FFB down to around 50% on F1 2023 and ACC. Both on Ps5. I still feel the FFB power is very constant while driving. Looking forward to what Full Force can brings. If I had to look at value/quality, I would have stay on the DD Pro 8nm but would have gone to the QR2, just because of clipping. But for now, I am happy with my DD Plus base on my reinforced Playseat Challenge with the V3 pedals and Formula V2.5 wheel

      But the 15nm on the dd+ makes it so that feeling comed back yes you will like it alot more on ac. You almost need it because of how the game was designed and you will finsply get to feel the potential it had the whole time.

      I just remember telling mates how good it was for force feedback especially for an old game, mind you Project Cars 2 still feels great. I’m only on PlayStation though so can’t comment on PC versions of anything.
      The CS DD+ is sooo strong, still gotta fine tune it I guess.

This wheel is very very strong like wow strong for a 15nm base because it's center forces stay 100% of the time they have 0 dips so it feels stronger then most and all forces it can hold for an unlimited amount of time which is why most will find themselves using less overall ffb strength.

      Yes the dd+ will give you even more while not needing to go 8 to 10. The way the peak torque works you will will be using it around 6 and going holy crap why is it so much stronger even only using 60% lol. The details and weight feel. The biggest difference for me is the weight feel so you feel the car slipping so much easier. Catches are so much easier because of the constant torque it can create. Instead of being slightly loose then loosening more you will feel the car and it will be nice and heavy the good kind of heavy when you dive into a corner and then it will loosen but try to catch and you will feel it. Its so do nice and all of the fine details are so good! So all of the clipping ypu will get with the inm won't be there running it at 6 and you are getting more performance.

    Hi Mihael. Your observation that 5nm is all that is needed is an important one. I agree.
    Your additional comment about the rationale for getting a wheel with greater torque is equally valid. ie. to avoid clipping. I, too, have a DD Pro (8nm) which I was by and large happy with
    I have bought a Logitech G Pro, which I'm VERY happy with, and have set the DD Pro up on my weekend rig (at my partner's - Anita says "Hi!" - house). It was only when I had my first session back on the DD Pro, after a long break, that I realised that I'd been experiencing clipping.
    I fixed that by reducing the torque, as you suggested, to remove clipping. God, the wheel beforehand just went dead for a split second under load, when I most needed to 'feel' feedback.
    The new Fanatec wheel does look awesome. I hope the company fixes their customer support issues, because the community needs more competition.

    Is there a way of measuring how many NMs you're using ? Even the CSL Elite has 6nm but I have no idea how much I use and how that translates compared to the DD Pro 5nm or 8nm.
    Also Fanatec always recommend high wheel setting and lower in-game settings as signals from games can damage the wheel if in-game settings are too high, noted that some players get a sudden heavy wheel whilst playing GT7 , well that's why, for me 7 10 in-game is way too high, I think mine is half that on both like 4 5 , everything on CSL 100 but FEI is off because of clipping

    • @DigitRacingDG
      @DigitRacingDG  4 месяца назад +2

      For example when you have the base at 35 like I have now, that is multiplied by the max base output = 15nm x 0,35 (35%) = 5,25 Nm and then further multiplied with in-game settings. 7 FFB in-game is 70% x 5,25 NM = 3,675. And we can say that I have a dynamic range of 5.25 Nm and further limited the base to 3,68 Nm. It's hard to find balance, but I guess you simply have to try and see what feels better.

    Im now using auto custum settings in standard mode {turned down only FFB to 40} and it felt allot smoother and did a lap without any crashings or mistakes.. i dont know man.. i think your settings gave me too much information or something too less? Kept crashing and spinning without notice {very little information coming trough?}

    When it comes to wheel force and how you feel 5Nm is enough, can you make a video going into more description about this? My wheel goes to 11. I've tried it everywhere from 3-11 and have settled on 9 giving me the most consistency. I know that things can vary from one manufacturer to another for settings and feel, but aside from clipping, I'd like to know if there are other reasons to use less force.

      So...... Ffb is trying to simulate more than what you would experience in a real car. It is putting through info that you would in a real actually experiencing through your butt. 5nm is more than enough to know what the car is doing without over loading the base, ur senses and actual force needed to get a solid consistent lap time.

      I'd have the wheelbase set to maximum then adjust in game for the force level you prefer. As far as i'm aware that's how to get the most definition in the force feedback.
      I recently just bought an aftermarket power supply to get the 8nm from my csl dd and the main difference was no clipping which gave me increased feel of the lower end forces.
      With the 5 nm i was getting a dead feeling every time the force spiked high and caused clipping.

    If you want to know what Full Force is like. Ask your friends for Dualsens PS5, connect it via USB to the PC, set audio output through Dualsens ps5 and connect headphones to Dualsens ps5. Go to any game, preferably F1. And you will understand what we are talking about and what Fanatec is trying to bring to the table with the help of sound effects. Personally, in my opinion, this will interfere with the DD motor since it is literally interference, or more precisely noise, for the quality of the FFB. So I'm sure 90% of people will say WOOW this is cool but I won't use it. So I don’t need to feel the gear shift using the steering wheel. Feeling the rotation of the engine will not help me in terms of lap speed. Also, I don’t need the sounds of curbs because there is an effect of curbs initially. This is the conclusion you will come to.

    Interesting that you intentionally limit the maximum possible Torque Output to just 5.25Nm by reducing FFB strength to 35%... With such a Low FFB setting the CS DD+ is overkill and you might be better suited with the GT DD PRO and save some money...😅

      Yes, I don't really need more than 5nm. Everything else feels like I'm fighting the wheel and not getting enough focus on the track and driving. I tried keeping the wheel FFB at 100 and lowering in-game settings to 2. There was a lot of feedback, but not really the necessary one; in my view, it was simply distracting. I found my balance there; some may like it, some may not.
      Just to mention ACC here, the reduction of "gain" in the game is simply something I wanted to avoid since it just cuts all the information from the base. Therefore, I reduced the FFB and increased the gain to 75.
      To me, having to fight the wheelbase is simply distracting, and I am not really getting the benefit of it, even if the base is sometimes clipping.
      iRacing on the other hand, was really good.

  • @irlantiisti2810
    @irlantiisti2810 4 месяца назад

    The issue is absolutely not 8nm, but rather the game and the worst FFB optimization. Since the game is initially created for Dualsens and XBOX gamepad. As soon as you enter Motorist or ACC or other simulators. You have a certain woow effect, is it possible that my DD 8nm base wants to break my hands. At the same time, the 900° base driver has 100% power, but in the game it is only 55-60%. So the point is absolutely not that 8nm is not enough, but that the F1 developers have not changed FFB since the release of GRID AUTOSPORT. It is quite similar to the game of 2014 and F1 of all FFB championships has not been changed for almost 10 years.

    Thumbs down because you said “all you need is 5nm”. Not good advice.
    I upgraded from 5 to 8. Big difference, more realistic, more detail etc. the podium is 20nm, sooo…
    “Headroom” is important, by that I mean, having more available power isn’t only to make it harder to steer. By having “left over” power you can channel it to things like engine vibration, wheel spin/slip, collisions, road details etc. The things that are mentioned regarding the upcoming full force upgrade being worked on with PD. Not to mention the new protocols, motor config etc.
    This is a (not fully implemented) good step in a good direction. Not to mention that the connector is better as well.
    I have had the QR1 for a year after ditching the horrible 1st gen GT pro wheel, garbage.
    The QR1 was better, but… now I am noticing that it is wearing out and getting loose 😮. I am by no means a pro and only race about 1.5 hours per day, EVERY day, should it really be slipping already 🤷🏻
