Just got GT DD Pro this week and it feels amazing. I've been using Logitech products the past 16 years and i kinda felt like i wanted to upgrade to a better rig. I have it currently mounted to a table with table clamp, but it still feels really solid - although my Ikea table doesn't really like the idea. I've haven't been driving a lot lately, but i still managed to beat few of my old personal laptime records after 5 hours of practising with this wheel. It's so much easier to drive when you can feel all the little bumps and forces thanks to the good FFB Direct drive gives. With Logitech wheels i kinda had to guess what the car was doing and it made my driving really inconsistent. I honestly don't have anything bad to say about the GT DD Pro - it's worth of buying. Hey! Thanks :D Well since I moved to the UK I had to leave my G29 behind so I will not have that "going back to the G29" experience but I am 1000% sure you are right ahha Like most things in life, upgrading can be extremely worth it but it's only when you go back that you truly appreciate the full extent of the upgrade.
Really nice to see you're enjoying the setup. I started with a Microsoft wheel for the XBox 360 about 15 years ago, had the first Posche 911 Turbo S wheel from Fanatec (was such a HUGE event when this came out :O) and went through nearly all Fanatec wheels and now ended with a Simucube, high end motion simulator etc. BUT for my PS5 i still play with a cheap Logitech G923 (which is VERY low budget comparing with the other stuff) and it's so much fun. As you said the equipment doesn't make you like racing games. PS: we are so f*cking spoiled today with all the simracing hype and so many quality wheels on the market.
100% :) Glad you are enjoying your time with sim racing At the end of the day it's all about the games and the friends you enjoy them with, gear doesn't make up for that even though it makes the experience that much more fun
I also upgraded from a G29 to the DD Pro, and I have the same NLR GT-Lite cockpit. I agree with you 100% The difference is astronomical!!!!! You can really detect oversteer much sooner and correct, something that you couldn’t do with the G29. The FFB detail is amazing! Like you, I also thought the GT-Lite cockpit wouldn’t be sturdy enough for this wheel, but the flexing is not as bad as I imagined. I am still planning to get a more rigid cockpit in the future, but it is good enough for now. Thanks for the video! Liked and Subscribed!👍
I just installed my CSL DD coming from a Logitech G25 Racing is all about proper braking Can't wait to try my new loadcell brake!! If it's anything like my 89 Porsche 944TS track car I'll be a happy camper 😅 good review, thanks 😊
So true ahahah Feeling that rear wheel slip was eye opening to say the least, and since that happened on a curb there is no way in hell I would have felt that on the G29 with all the gears rattling in there :D
Great video Carlos, great choice on all the gear! A couple of things tho, first one is that I recommend you upgrading the Quick Release on the mclaren rim these are known to break overtime (huge oversight from Fanatic) and lastly like you've said you might want to consider upgrading your cockpit, while the Next level is great for the convenience of being able to fold it and put it away, you are losing a ton of detail from the DD motor with all that play that would help further improve your race craft.
I think the quick release isn’t a problem really, I’ve had mine for a while and it’s ok, I actually prefer it to the metal one sometimes as the metal one can be noisy in certain situations, I think only if you’ll only have problems when getting a defective one and in that case, fanatec will have to send a new one.
Hey! Thanks for the comment :) I have already found certain limitations with the quick release mainly a very slight play when the force feedback kicks in on high speed corners. Nothing major and for now I don't intend on spending more money on the setup, but something to keep in mind particularly when fanatec releases an updated metal quick release. Regarding the cockpit, even though I completely agree with you unfortunately I don't have too much space so the setup will have to be something similar to this in size and weight (and also price) so with all that I still can't justify something that would be an big upgrade but who knows in the future!
Interesting that the metal one makes some noises, didn't know that! I will stick with this plastic one at least until fanatec launches an updated version of their metal one (and until my wallet recuperates from all this ahahha)
@@carlosribeiroo Yeah, it’s a common problem with the plastic quick release, when turning left to right there’s like a notchy feeling right? I actually found a solution and mine is perfect now, it actually made a huge difference although the notchy thing doesn’t always happen, just put a bit of really thin card or a bit thicker paper in the indetation in the shaft and it will go away! I’ll try to find a link where they show some pictures!
@@carlosribeiroo Same here ahah I just have the metal one because it was included with the bmw steering wheel I ordered, it’s actually annoying when it makes noises, when the ffb “rumbles” with bumps and stuff like that the metal quick release rattles, the safety screw helps with this but not 100%.
That's the exact same wheel, DD base, and pedal setup I have my eye on from Fanatec. I currently use a GT Omega wheel stand but I have a cheap $100 PXN wheel and pedal setup. I was going to upgrade to the Logitech G29 but I'm thinking skipping it and just going to this setup.
Nice set up bro, definitely my future upgrade wheel the fanatec DDpro and that maclaren steering. I’m currently using the thrustmaster tgt with the SF1000 on a trakracer RS6 rig.
It truly is a game changer, so when you have the money and if you aren't compromising on anything else essential in your life take the leap :) You will not be left disappointed
I did a lot of research before buying my DD GT3V2 and CSL Pedals, got it installed updated and setup for racing. There isn't that much difference between my G27 with it's multiple mods vs the Fanatec DD, and even less in the Pedal department. While I spent quite a few hours tinkering, tightening the responsiveness, reducing the slop, and generally reconfiguring the G27 many years ago, I was expecting huge differences in the feeling of the DD. I can say this hand on heart that you have been the only person on YT that has actually said 'That it will not fundamentally change the way you race, if you already own a wheel.' It does feel great and if the kit lasts for the next 5 years it will have paid for itself, but I wish I'd waited to upgrade once my older kit was broken instead of just upgrading for the sake of it. If you own a wheel already see if you can find someone with a Fanatec setup and try it out, as it might save you quite a lot of money.
For me its completely the opposite. Coming from a t300 and upgrading to a Clubsport DD from Fanatec the difference was night and day. So much so that when i went and drove the t300 again wich i sold to a friend it simply felt like a toy and not something to „simulate“ anything with at all. Even then a t300 outperforms a g27/29 any day. A g27/29 is not something i recommend at all or something i enjoyed even a little bit and i dont understand the hype around it at all. What is true however is that a DD doesnt make you faster but it certainly helps with consistency.
Have the same setup but ended up getting the 3drap mod for the load cell to get a little more travel. I think it's since i drive with socks and not shoes and this has helped me trail brake better. I guess it's a personal preference. Love the wheel. It's amazing with ACC.
I have heard about that brake pedal mod and may or may not have a tab open with it that I should probably go close before I'm tempted to spend more money. I also drive with socks and also think that a little more travel could be beneficial, but I think I'll stick with the stock ones for 6 months to really get dialed in and then I'll rethink this decision if I have to. ACC truly feels incredible I have been doing some racing there as well over the past couple of days and it put's F1 to shame in the force feedback department
Nice One.....You just need a Solid Rig now, to hold it all properly so you can appreciate and feel the feedback as you should !! Good on you.....Enjoy !!
also i like how you react to everyone and how you make content its soothing unlike those other reviews where they go haywire and immediatly jump to the review part of the review you take a more calm and nice aproach
Is there a video with the entire cost breakdown of the sim setup? Like other than the pc involved, but including the screens, seat etc in the setup? And probably creating it at different price points, on what can be substituted etc. would love to see something like that.
Hell,I received my DD pro and Maclaren wheel today, and tomorrow I’m leaving the country for the next six months. It s..ks.Will leave them unboxed until march.I feel like I’m going to cry!!!
Yea I am new to sim racing. When I was looking at the fanatech combo. That starts 399 direct drive. What a deal!!! I am glad I did my research. I am just going to upgrade the pedals later down the road. You have a 5 nm modal or the 8?
8nm! Honestly very worth the extra power not only because of the peak output but you get more nuance between the different forces. Basically better dynamic range if you know that term from the audio/video world
I had a G29 but it sadly broke. I really enjoyed playing, especially f1 24/7. I am playing on a controller for bout 2 months now and it isnt fun at all. ordered the same setup today(had a playseat challenge before for the G29) I think it is worth it
The problem is that i can go 2 sec faster with controller then wheel because i used controller for the past 26 years with racing and now i tried a wheel and its fucked and it will take so long to get used to
:D Thanks for the comment men! Enjoy your setup as well! For me this was years in the making and I could not be more satisfied with everything. Now I just was to try all games to really see what this wheel has to offer. Been playing some ACC and the force feedback there is insanely detailed
@@carlosribeiroo very nice. Yes, I have the fanatec dd1, very powerful device, mega force feedback, I'm on the go with triple screen, I've recreated my gt3 cockpit 😅 you're welcome to watch a video of me, I'd be happy 💪 subscription is out
I'm genuinely surprised that your gt lite could handle the 8nm so well. I have an f-gt lite and thinking about getting the csl dd and I thought I might NEED a new cockpit for that but apparently not!
Just tighten everything up and you should be alright! You may be slightly limited with positioning since you have to ensure everything is properly centered to distribute the load as much as possible but yeah, not too bad for the price!
Yeah you are not the first one to point this out. I definitely started feeling some slight clicking when the force feedback kicks in on highspeed corners, nothing major but definitely something to be on the look out for. Looking forward to seeing if Fanatec will upgrade their metal quick release like some people were saying they will and maybe look into that upgrade once that happens!
Could you give a review regarding the Next Level Racing cockpit with your setup in this video? I am on a budget and I am stuck between yours in the video and the F-GT Next Level Racing.
Hey! The only difference between the gt and the f gt is the formula position that you can’t do on the gt lite. Rigidity wise they are the exact same so really see if you want to use that position to justify the price increase
Please watch out for the movement between the GT wheel and the simplified quickrelease. On our channel you see my fix with some tape. I almost destroyed the connection between base and wheel under highspeed corners and higher ffb moments Its either that fix, or buying the qr sport or wait for the new QR2. But the set is amazing, i got ours a few weeks ago and enjoyed it allot. Subbed to your channel for support.
Hey! Thanks for the heads up! This is definitely something that I talk about in my next video about my experience with the wheel that should be coming out today. The QR2 is definitely on my radar whenever that comes out
No pedals have springs, the brake pedal have a load cell (which I think is the spring you are referring to) and has very little travel measuring the pressure you apply on the brake. The accelerator works in a totally different way measuring the travel of the pedal with Hal effect sensors
Honestly I don't they will ever come back in stock :/ They are a much better deal then the 5NM variant since you can buy a third party 180W power supply and save a lot in comparison to buying the 8NM version, but I think Fanatec knows that and chose to reduce their availability on purpose
Hey buddy, super cool setup! Solid all round - just please pleeeaaassse if you can, change to a proper frame :) you can see the rig you're in deforming. It will change your experience! Nice. Imagine how you would fell playing a simulator with good force feedback, as AMS2 or iRacing. I never really felt the track playing any codemaster's F1 game. I read the comments after commenting myself and saw that everybody wrote basically the same thing. But here it goes anyway xD.
Hey! Yeah you are right but at the end of the day, whatever gets you racing is great in my book. With that said I have been playing some ACC in the past couple of days and it truly is spectacular the level of detail in the force feedback and truly on another level compared to F1 2021. Maybe Codemasters made some improvements in that regard for F1 2022 (probably not though)
@@carlosribeiroo yes. I agree. I don't dislike the game, F1 2018 was the game that introduced me to racing in general, it's an important series. I also hope that they bring some improvements to the force feedback and track details on 2022 version, the VR support is already a good thing.
Excited to try it out for those exact reasons! Apparently the way they calculate tires and suspension has been improved but who knows if that translates any better to the wheel or if it's just marketing

Nome mesmo tuga sim senhor, se tivesse so bigode entao deixava-te sem duvida nenhuma :D Concordo plenamente, a experiencia nao tem nada a ver comparado com gear driven wheels
Hey! Thanks for the tip :) I know that but for now it will stay in the box since I don't intend on buying a shifter any time soon and the Mclaren wheel has some clutch paddles that will work just fine for games like ACC!
Anyone else find the mclaren wheel doesn’t rotate properly? Or reflect the rotation setting in game? I have the sensitivity set to ‘auto’ on the wheel, 360 degrees in game on F122. The wheel turns to just over 180 degrees then seems to be at full lock, and almost goes a bit limp after this?
I will keep an eye out for any signs of cracks but hopefully I will have enough time until fanatec updates their QR1 and grab a proper metal quick release then
@@carlosribeiroo Also keep a look out for disconnects with the wheel and the base as I am going through after 9 months or so and tightening the C-clamp to 15 NM doesn't seem to fix the issue. I think it's a flaw in the shaft and waiting to return my base to them currently. I don't want anyone to have to go through this mess with Fanatec.

Nice video. I have mine for a few months and totally agree. If you think the G29 is a toy after trying the CSL DD once, wait until you have tried it for a few days, then try to go back on the G29. You will be wondering how was I even using this thing lol
Hey! Thanks :D
Well since I moved to the UK I had to leave my G29 behind so I will not have that "going back to the G29" experience but I am 1000% sure you are right ahha
Like most things in life, upgrading can be extremely worth it but it's only when you go back that you truly appreciate the full extent of the upgrade.
I have the force feedback turned all the way up on my g920 and it feels like nothing i need to get myself a real set up
I just picked mine up and got it in 5 days asides from there history of bad logistics. I couldn't be happier!
100% :)
Glad you are enjoying your time with sim racing
At the end of the day it's all about the games and the friends you enjoy them with, gear doesn't make up for that even though it makes the experience that much more fun
am coming from the g29 and buying all these separately but u just hyped my expectations wooohoooo great vid
Happy to bring some extra excitement for you men :) Enjoy your new gear!
This was the first vid I saw from you but now I love you and watch all your vids
:) Thank you Sab! I really appreciate it!
Nice to see someone on the same boat! Enjoy your setup and glad you enjoyed the video :D
bro you are so underrated
Appreciate that :)
Coming from t150 going to a gt dd pro looking forward to it getting delivered
Well, i felt the exact same. The difference is so high - that i shed a tear ;)
I just installed my CSL DD coming from a Logitech G25
Racing is all about proper braking Can't wait to try my new loadcell brake!! If it's anything like my 89 Porsche 944TS track car I'll be a happy camper 😅 good review, thanks 😊
Exciting times ahead :) enjoy the upgrade and all the fun that will come with it!
Top quality videos mate, subbed!
Thanks 😊
It's even a bigger jump from the Momo. Good luck!
True that! Huge jump in fidelity and overall enjoyment that's for sure
this will also be my first setup minus the cockpit.. going from racing with a controller to this is ridiculous!!
RIDICULOUS is probably the best word to describe that jump! Congrats!
Sameeee!!
It looks like you have only a very small amount of FF. You have to crank it up... Then you really have controll over the car.
The smile says it all !
What are your settings ??
Love this! I litterally came from the G29 to this setup as well. I also ordered the Meta Quest 2!
Hope you enjoy it!
The smile on your face says it all! Direct Drive wheels are just a different game, enjoy 🙂
So true ahahah
Feeling that rear wheel slip was eye opening to say the least, and since that happened on a curb there is no way in hell I would have felt that on the G29 with all the gears rattling in there :D
Hey! Thanks for the comment :)
I have already found certain limitations with the quick release mainly a very slight play when the force feedback kicks in on high speed corners.
@@carlosribeiroo Same here ahah I just have the metal one because it was included with the bmw steering wheel I ordered, it’s actually annoying when it makes noises, when the ffb “rumbles” with bumps and stuff like that the metal quick release rattles, the safety screw helps with this but not 100%.
unboxing experience feels so nice
I have the 3D rap mod. What a difference. Proper trail braking is much ch easier making you faster.
Now I know what to buy for my next birthday.
Fanatec makes some sick wheel rims.
But horrible quick releases
@@zy5270 not what I heard I hear the plastic one isn't that good but I hear the metal q.r works great.
@@Bobbarker23455 yes but you have to pay 100€ more, the plastic qr shouldn’t even exist
@@Bobbarker23455 Fanatec ecosystem is a huge money pit, as an owner of their products i can confirm that
@@zy5270 well it seems to me everything in sim racing is a huge money pit lol
Nice One.....You just need a Solid Rig now, to hold it all properly so you can appreciate and feel the feedback as you should !!
Good on you.....Enjoy !!
I’m new to sim racing man I can’t wait to get my first wheel and pedal set 🥹
How much is the setup ?
I paid little under 1000 euros for everything, seat included
Thanks
im gonna buy the new fanatec gt dd pro premium bundle with the shifter from fanatec so its nice to see a hands on look
I will have another video coming out this week so keep an eye out for more details :)
@@carlosribeiroo im excited

Thank you for taking the time to write it up
excellent unboxing segment
Thank you 😃
Que setup de sonho! 🔥 great video btw, glad I found you channel! 💪💪
Obrigado :D
Ainda bem que encontras-te sim senhor!
I wonder how much the vibration transfer to the floor..
My CSL DD and McLaren GT3 wheel rim just arrived today but they’re a Christmas present, the wait is gonna kill me 😅
No chance that is staying wrapped until Christmas ahahahhah

Underrated comment :)
Congrats! Hope you enjoy them! Might want to do a quick test to see if everything is working before you leave!
I currently have g29 as well, probably getting this in the future.
Still the default for thousands getting into sim racing!
Nice vid!
I hope i can buy my first wheel this year
Thanks :)
I have the exactly set up except I have the dd not the pro. still waiting for the pedal to arrival. Looking forward!
Congrats men! Hope you enjoy your setup as much as I have been enjoying mine :)
Isn't that a csl dd base? I got the same
get a aluminum profile rig for it and be even more amazed! The flex takes away so much
For now I don't think I have the budget or the space to justify something bigger and more expensive then this.
Any recommendation for the rig?
@@carlosribeiroo simlab p1-x :)
I am playing on a controller for bout 2 months now and it isnt fun at all. ordered the same setup today(had a playseat challenge before for the G29) I think it is worth it
RIP G29 :(
With that said enjoy your new setup! It's a killer upgrade coming from the G29
Lifestyyyyles of the rich and the famooous
Just need to pair it with a stiffer rig.
...some say a video about doing just that is in it's planning stages...
The problem is that i can go 2 sec faster with controller then wheel because i used controller for the past 26 years with racing and now i tried a wheel and its fucked and it will take so long to get used to
very cool I'm happy for you I'm also super satisfied with my setup 💪
I have the same setup but the qr lite is junk you will notice it has too much play I would recommend upgrading but you will notice it later
Could you please send me the link to this wheel, base set up... Ive got a G29 to and want a proper set up.
nice, what was previous wheel
Logitech G29!
@@carlosribeiroo i have that still ok for casual
Could you give a review regarding the Next Level Racing cockpit with your setup in this video? I am on a budget and I am stuck between yours in the video and the F-GT Next Level Racing.
Hey! The only difference between the gt and the f gt is the formula position that you can’t do on the gt lite. Rigidity wise they are the exact same so really see if you want to use that position to justify the price increase
High end using a foldable play seat? The direct drive is dope though
Please watch out for the movement between the GT wheel and the simplified quickrelease. On our channel you see my fix with some tape. I almost destroyed the connection between base and wheel under highspeed corners and higher ffb moments
Its either that fix, or buying the qr sport or wait for the new QR2.
But the set is amazing, i got ours a few weeks ago and enjoyed it allot.
Subbed to your channel for support.
Hey! Thanks for the heads up! This is definitely something that I talk about in my next video about my experience with the wheel that should be coming out today.
The QR2 is definitely on my radar whenever that comes out
Why does only one pedal have a spring?
No pedals have springs, the brake pedal have a load cell (which I think is the spring you are referring to) and has very little travel measuring the pressure you apply on the brake. The accelerator works in a totally different way measuring the travel of the pedal with Hal effect sensors
@@carlosribeiroo thank you for the response, makes sense!
Does the seat gt lite give enough support and experience?
I’m about to purchase my first DD wheel it’s gonna be the Fanatec CSLDD bundle I’m coming from a G920
Enjoy! Fun times ahead :)
I wish I could join you in this feeling but Fanatec still can't seem to get any 5nm DD base in stock
Honestly I don't they will ever come back in stock :/
They are a much better deal then the 5NM variant since you can buy a third party 180W power supply and save a lot in comparison to buying the 8NM version, but I think Fanatec knows that and chose to reduce their availability on purpose
Hey buddy, super cool setup! Solid all round - just please pleeeaaassse if you can, change to a proper frame :) you can see the rig you're in deforming. It will change your experience! If you can save up for something like a Sim-labs Gt-1 evo, you definitely won't be disappointed!! Otherwise, great setup, and enjoy it!!
Hey! Thanks for all the positivity, it really has been a fantastic experience and a much needed improvement compared to my previous setup. I have another video on this setup coming out tomorrow where I touch on this exact thing. Unfortunately it's a game of compromises where you either have to spend more money, use more space or live with some flex, so even though I agree with you, for now I think this is the setup I will stick with for better or for worse. It also is substantially better now in comparison to this video after I did some slight modifications to it, but it will never be rock solid
move your monitor closer
right up in front of the base at the end of the desk
If only the monitor arm reached that far!
@@carlosribeiroo oh its wall mounted, thats fine too just google an fov calculator to set it up well

Dude I’m thinking to upgrade from a controller to this lol. I think I need to do this, looks so much fun
Does this work for ps4?
Hello, what is the cockpit model please? Exactly?
It’s the next level racing GT Lite
I watch this video every after 3 days
I’ve got a thrust master setup that is £200 but I am getting a huge upgrade which includes getting this wheel base
Congrats! Hope you enjoy your new wheel :)
Btw the old brake is meant to be a clutch for other games
Hey!
Thanks for the tip :)
I know that but for now it will stay in the box since I don't intend on buying a shifter any time soon and the Mclaren wheel has some clutch paddles that will work just fine for games like ACC!
Hi im waiting my ddpro and i come from g29 too , i have the same gt lite i see one video that use bands for reducing mobility, i would try it
What's the difference between csl dd and dd pro wheelbase?
PS5 compatibility! The dd pro is ps5 compatible whilst the csl dd is not
Anyone else find the mclaren wheel doesn’t rotate properly? Or reflect the rotation setting in game?
I have the sensitivity set to ‘auto’ on the wheel, 360 degrees in game on F122. The wheel turns to just over 180 degrees then seems to be at full lock, and almost goes a bit limp after this?
I usually manually set to 360 in fanalab and it syncs no problem!
Be careful with that glass molded disconnect, they crack over time. Best to put the metal QR1 on your wheel.
I'll keep an eye for it, thanks for the heads up! Fingers crossed nothing happens on my end but you never know!
how is the cockpit with the wheel is it sturdy enough for drifting and have you tried the boost kit 8nm?
Upgrade is nice but you really need a more steady Rig...you are loosing so much feeling by all that flex of the cockpit..
