The referee is bound by the rules to send him off. There's literally no other decision that he could have taken.

It was going to be difficult without playing with a dm in the first place. But Xavi and the boys were managing that well, until the red card. Only a miracle could save. Never doubt those boys. If you really watched the game,they played out all their soul on that pitch. But It was not meant to be . When they had the chance, Araujo shot them in the foot. It is part of experience though.
