    The pitch that Harper laid off of right before the HR.. like 99 percent of hitters probably chase it. Excellent strikeout pitch. Harper is SO impressive when he has two strikes. Awesome eye, one of the toughest outs to ever wear a Phillies uniform. Just amazing.

      It's crazy cause with Girardi as the coach in the beginning of the season it looked like we were headed for last place. We tell him to take a hike and we start winning but as the season goes along we had a ton of injuries and than our pitching was all over the place and than it slowly started getting better and we were winning a ton and than Sept we were so hot and cold and we limped into the playoffs and we had to face the nl central division leader Cardinals and we go through them and we meet the nl east winners and defending ws champs and get through them and then meet an equally hot Padres team and our hitters as need to get hot went and got hot and we relied on some funky pitching situations and won. I'm a Royals fan first and foremost but I feel like I've become an honorary Phillies fan going along this incredible underdog run they're having. It's been awesome to see. They are the hungriest team in baseball right now, and it is FUN to watch. Compare Astros/Yankees (absolute snoozefest) to Padres/Phillies (electric offense, score swinging back and forth, wild crowd energy) and it's no contest. And credit to the Padres too, for many of the same reasons!

      @WestonNYR 2 года назад +7

      @@andrewaaberg482 This series sucked for all Padres fans, obviously. Nobody's happy after being eliminated. With that being said, you've gotta remember how we just managed to barely make the playoffs and we knocked off the Mets, who had 101 wins and 2 aces. Than we knock off the Dodgers, who had 111 wins and crushed us all season. After that, we fought and won game 2 against these red hot Phillies, and all the other games were winnable. Just too many guys left in base. Harper, Schwarber, Hoskins and Segura came in clutch this series. Machado, Nola, Grisham and Cronenworth did not. Just imagine if we had Tatis though. He could of helped here big time. Especially since Philly really just kept hitting the long ball and we couldnt match it. It is what it is though, and in my book any season we eliminate the Doyers is a successful season. Philly just had an even better one, which is why I'm rooting for them to crush the Astros/Yankees. We'll get them back next year though, with our 'franchise player' who hopefully won't make any more stupid decisions!

    When Rob Thompson took over as manager, the Phillies were 22-29. All hope looked lost once again.
    Now, they're in the World Series. Philly Rob has completely turned this franchise around. You could see the team start to blossom in June, July, and August. And while September was less than ideal, it wasn't enough to destroy the season like it used to.
    Now, in the postseason, with no more curses to worry about, the Phillies have become the world-beaters we all hoped them to be this year. This is a magical season. This is truly special.
