The custom buildings really bring a map to life. If you are able to get this one out I am sure people will notice! Looks awesome, keep up the great work!
They most definitely make all the difference and it's one of the main reasons I dove head first into it the way I did. The problem is that it's too much work for just one person. It will eventually make it out, I'm just unsure about the timing.
I wish my save never got corrupted on Rocky Mountain Reserve and I could have continued my series on it. One of my favorite maps in FS22. I'm excited you still creating and excited for this map. I'm sure it will be just as good, if not better!
watched to the end - love the look of the map. One "comment" to take as you will... the "Taheton" grass has the "seasonal changes" applied to it, which means it'll change color per season - but the basegame meadow (which you sometimes use right next to the Taheton grass) doesn't have that same seasonal changes... having them next to each other might look very strange as the seasons change. It might be worth customizing both - make the Taheton grass shorter, and make the US meadow have the seasonal changes. just a suggestion.
Ah, now this is something that I did not know! Really good suggestion, thank you for that. I feel like the Taheton grass could definitely be a bit shorter, even though I was looking for a longer grass. I'll likely just pull the seasonal effect from it, it's much easier than adding it to the base game grass. I guess I didn't look closely enough to notice that it had a seasonal effect added to it.
@@_Corsa I ended up just modifying the base game grass (so I now have two versions) and scrapping the Taheton grass. I ended up with exactly what I wanted and also saved on overhead by ditching the other grass. It's definitely going to be finished for FS22, but exactly when is the question. I'm making progress, so hopefully it won't be too much longer. I'm excited to play it!

I still play FS 19 just as much as I play FS22. Been waiting on your map to release for awhile. Hopefully you'll finish it for FS22. I'm not convinced yet to plunk down the money for FS25.
It will definitely get finished. When it gets finished, that's the question. The best I can do is to keep after it and will all come together sooner or later.
Nice work. I released a map back in FS17. I thought it would take me a couple weeks. The map took over 9 months to complete. I may give maps another go in FS25 but am focused on learning Blender right now.
If you just keep after it in Blender, eventually you'll come to a point where everything clicks and starts making perfect sense. At least that's the way it worked for me. It took a bit of time, and LOTS of tutorials. They don't even have to be tutorials, just watching other people work is helpful to me. I learn a lot that way.
Looks good! I know I'll be playing it on 22. As a Kansan I feel the central plains, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska and the Dakotas are missing from the game. I always change maps so they are similar to our region
I really hope you will make a video about realistic terrain and elevations some day. Because that's the reason i would like to make maps , to try and build real life locations into a map.
It's most definitely on the list. Right now time is my biggest enemy and it's difficult to pick and choose which videos to do next. I was at least trying to cover all the basics before I started getting into the more advanced stuff. It's coming though, I just don't exactly when.
@@bauerbrown keep up the good work. I gonna start making maps again in 2025. learning allot new stuff with your videos. And making real life area's is a wet dream . ;)
I'm one of the many who still primarily still play 19. I won a copy of 22 from a Twitch streamer when 22 came out. Played a few hours but I have been spending my time fixing a FS19 16X map that was abandoned by it's author.
I feel like a lot of people will abandon 22 when 25 comes out, and they probably will. I have no issues myself with playing older games, and do so often. I appreciate that people still play 19!
looks fantastic. there's something about your maps, bauer. you get rid of that base game cartoon appearance that a lot of the US maps seem to suffer from. they really stand out from the pile. hope you have time to finish it
I don't know, there are so many maps and stuff I still have to try in FS22 that I kind of feel I might stay with it for a bit, BUT last November when the new Ark dropped I was adamant that I wouldn't be upgrading to play it, unfortunately my PC died 2 weeks before it released so I was forced to upgrade my hardware and well, lets just say the old game didn't get played much after that. So whilst I still have things I want to do in FS22, I may well migrate to FS25 pretty quickly, I don't even know yet. Anyway, at one point you asked which head tracking system viewers prefer, um, I went maverick with that, I use a cheap webcam with AItrack and opentrack (both freeware github projects) for my head/eye tracking. It takes a bit of setting up but I don't need to wear a sensor and well, it is quite a bit less expensive than the others... Takes me forever to start the game - load thrustmaster CP to make sure it recognised my steering wheel properly, enable my webcam from privacy, load Aitrack and make sure I'm, centred in the camera, then load opentrack and start head tracking, then I can fire up FS22...
There are plenty of older games I still to play, but I tend to jump ship to the latest and greatest as well when it comes out. It all depends really. This was just bad timing for a map and it was bound to happen sooner or later. I looked into opentrack and it was fun at first to tinker around, then it became a hassle and I threw in the towel. TrackIR was money well spent, even it was a bit costly.
Finish it for 22. It is an epic map, way too much work to walk away from. See what would be involved to port it to 25, but you are right, you dont want to spend six more months on it. It was a learning experience, but time to move on at that point.
My thoughts exactly. I'm just I hoping I get enough time with it to give it a good and proper playing! Driving around on it really makes me want to see it done so I can play it. It has potential based just on its simplicity - lots of room to grow.
Love the Boat on blocks , Being building a Irish map for about a year im abandoning it now so i can start fresh on fs25 , Wish i could learn blender can't get my old head around it , If you abandon atleast you got all them assets for Fs25 not a total loss

Very nice map. I would definitely finish it. Just like the consensus here. I curiously am running into the same issue with the map of my home area in MN that I started a year ago. Gung ho working on it until FS25 was announced then it fizzled...I was thinking why should I? After the quick exchange of emails we had and this video I'm thinking of starting work again. Why can't we match?
I would start work again. Even if you finish it after FS25, who cares? It may get less attention, but plenty of people still play older versions of the game and I don't expect that to change. The good thing with it being finished is that it ultimately makes it easier to port it over to a FS25 map when the time comes. I ran into the exact same thing though ... I've been spending much less time on the map lately but it has more to do with time management and burn out than it does lack of interest (there is a little of that also). Mine was started on 22 and it will be finished on 22. I'll decide what to do with it after it's complete and I get a chance to play it to see if it's worth the effort to push over to 25.
