- Star Citizen Pyro gameplay just hits different, it provides so much exploration, loads of new missions and a vast landscape to discover. I am really sad that soon, pyro will disappear and we'll be heading back to Stanton for all our star citizen adventures. Hopefully, we'll get to head back soon.

Cheer up Ollie, CIG ending this round of Pyro testing is a good thing. They can now evaluate the data they've gained from this & use it to improve the next round or decide that after fixing discovered issues, have it improved when they bring it live to the PU. Cheers!

I’ve learned, for dark areas, pinging is your friend and will save your ass. Can’t remember how many times I would run into dark space stations because I couldn’t tell I was much closer than I thought. Now with pinging I get a nice bright silhouette of the station.
They should make it so that you can enter a low light mode in the cockpit to help pilots see at night time, the HUD lights and interior lights are a bit too bright in some ships.

Pyro is so awesome, had great pvp battles, awesome locations to check out, I love the fact that the settlements are so big that you have lots of opportunities to use sniper rifles, and always looking over your shoulder for other players trying to attack you while your doing things, there has been more then one situation where my buddy and I had to book it back to the scorp and get in ASAP to defend against players shooting up your ship, I can't wait for it to go live, I'll be spending a lot of time out there
Mic is good and smooth panning with the camera is much better from the observer viewpoint, well done go to the top of the class!
man in the future when all servers will be conncted and orgs are building sttlements everywhere, its going to be so awesome flying over planets and discovering huge bases that you've never seen before
love that you show actually gameplay. i personally haven’t seen anyone else show anything besides tips and tricks
Controller footage makes a huge difference! If I had one criticism it would be to literally walk super slow through those interesting points of interest and look around smoothly... but awesome work covering Pyro Olli! you are a legend!

The immersion is real in SC, and I can't wait for Pyro to be in LIVE. The data they have collected over the past few days should be significant. Pyro is not somewhere I would settle, but I would visit for missions definitely. Camp out on planets for a while, but leave once I am done. It reminds me of the early days of Stanton people would just shoot each other, but Armistice and prison made people start flashing lights. Pyro has none of that so shoot first and ask questions later. I don't mind the danger but I want to manage the risks. All those ships were there due people dying on that mission so gg on completing it.
I liked our glimpse into a small part of Pyro, but it's hard to say how it will play when it hits live, we had 10x quantum fuel in the preview builds, and we had forced good rep with Rough & Ready and Citizens for Pyro, When it's all open and rep actually matters, and quantum fuel isn't boosted it's going to play very differently. I'm not sure if I'm going to spend much time there though since you basically need a crew to survive the roaming MHs

Hey Olli just a bit of trivia, Ruin Station is actually located in Terminus.
Oli, you just found the place that was showed in the final portion of the Star Engine demo mate, the mountain top camp, down there you have the settlement, and the lake by it's side.
I wish they'd dial back the space dust/snow a bit. It ruins the feeling of floating in space a little. I get its reason for it existing to give a sense of speed and direction, but just make it more subtle. Space feels like space when you have no sense of speed and direction sometimes, and not having it feel like its literally snowing in space lol.
@Olli43 i have a challenge for you for when the Technical Preview becomes available again, in the mission "Kill order", untrack it and kill the 25 enemies without the markers. It really enhances the experience
At 26:30 Maybe there will come a time when 5-6 AI enemies are enough. I remember that the bots in Unreal Tournament could adjust to your level automatically. If the AI is really good bots will react to very noise you make and behave like assassins. Especially after you killed one of them. Who is hunting who will be the question.

Ollie, get yourself a Xbox Elite 2 controller, and reWASD software. 4 paddles on the back and the only controller that you can rebind those paddles to anything you want. So I have mine set to E, Left mouse click (for elevators and buttons), M, and V. That way you dont need to grab the mouse nearly as often
Just a thought; The Devs should add an unusual effect/result when a flair starts just as you jump, such as, half Q-fuel gone, jumped three times as far, creates a temporary jump point to another system (based on heading), all three? ;-)

There wasn't a patch every day, launcher just re-downloaded the manifest each time, the build number never changed, so yeah build was identical the whole time. Pyro 4 to 6 and their Lagrange points and most of the Pyro 1 Lagrange points weren't possible to set as a destination, but people managed to go there using the slingshot method.
8:15 I find the Discontinued Steam Controller are perfect alternative for that. You get both the smooth camera movements with a stick, but a handy trackpad as well when you need to do "mouse" stuff.
Hey Olli, look in the settings (can't remember which) for a setting called 'mouse smoothing'. You can set it higher and it will smooth your mouse movements to make them look 'cinematic' even if you're whipping your mouse around. No need to use a controller. You might want to switch it back for any competitive combat but it will make your videos look great even with mouse/keyboard.
I adore sunlit outlines of the planets, it's just so well done.
i think those collision alerts you were getting around 17 minutes in were from the falling carcasses of the ships youd already killed, i think i spied a reliant corpse at around 17:20

I believe the reason you cant set destination is because route is blocked by a celestial? Not because its inactive. Same happens in Stanton

I would like to point out a way to see the terrain features is to use your scanner at night it will illuminate the features.
I wish ships had better exterior lighting, landing spotlights or something that could light up the ground at a distance. It would look amazing to see ships shrouded in fog or darkness, piercing the gloom with beams of light, scanning the ground, lighting up targets, etc...
I knew he sounded different! I thought I messed something up, I've been messing with my mic and audio to stream and record on my other channel, and it has been very aggravating lol. So I am very glad it wasn't me going insane or messing anything up. It does sound great though Ollie!
I haven't seen any RUclips videos of the "abandoned stations" CIG described at CitizenCon, the completely abandoned, derelict stations located at lagrange points. Not the occupied, semi-derelict ones the R&R and Citizens for Pyro control and are used as the 4 spawn stations, but the PYAM-FARSTAT stations left out in the cold at asteroid clusters/lagrange points. There's supposed to be like ten of them or something located throughout Pyro. I've seen some videos where people in Pyro zoom into some of the clusters and see the PYAM-FARSTAT QT beacons inside the cluster, but have yet to see anybody actually travel to these locations.
Are the PYAM-FARSTAT / abandoned stations just not included in this early preview version of Pyro, perhaps? Or is nobody exploring them because they don't have any mission content directing you too them yet / everybody is too distracted by the occupied stations and the planets?
Yeah Ruin Station is not in Pyro yet, but they all will be in the final version. They said it somewhere, but idk when or where.
Yeah Ruin Station @@TheLobstersoup will be epic, the concept art makes it look quite small, but knowing CIG they'll make it much bigger. I'm interested to see how they handle the dimensions of the stations in terms of traversing, it's quite a strange shape to traverse, different to any other station in Star Citizen.
If you want to use the mouse and not seem like you jerk it around simply add some mouse smooth in settings and also adjust mouse flight movement to reduce your mouse wheel speed so you can make cinematic landings and takeoffs.
One ship I haven't seen Ollie in yet is a MISC MIS gunboat, I reckon he'd like spaffing 32 S2s missiles during a bounty mission ;) also the FS9 is super inaccurate for the given ranges I can see above those targets' heads, and loses a lot of its DPS, I think

Hey, olli43. Big fan of you and Star Citizen. Is there anyway you can maybe in the future make a video in dog fighting/bounty in game. Like where you aim and shoot. And all that good stuff. I suck at dog fighting/bounty.
just a basic player here but when you scan specific ships, what key do you press? Is it T to target? Then Alt-T to untarget?
I admit that Pyro seems to be a completely unlawful system. I did expect it to be far more expansive. In reality, as it stands, you can travel around the system in most any ship. I was expecting that you would need a long range explorer to navigate Pyro. Maybe it will change? That said, it’s been fun to explore.
I see what you are saying, but it looks like there will be so many PoI that you can just hop between them, but I agree, it would be nice if some areas required you to upgrade of have a ship capable of longer quantum jumps. 👍

If you jump that high in the Dragonfly you have to hold left Ctrl or up thrust while falling to avoid death.
Love the controller footage! I know it's harder to play with but the videos look way better. Morphologis uses one too
I really want to know how people get the game to look so good and have that kind of smooth FPS. I have a good rig, but not good enough to run Star citizen that well.
What's a "good" rig? 32GB helps, SSD is essential, disable E-Cores. Game is server and location dependent regarding fps. Also, "Very high" won't slash your fps.

Since it is a tech Demo, all landing zones I visited where exact the same buildings. But I liked it overall. Still I am going to stay being a citizen of Stanton. Most likely securing the pyro jumppoint with my polaris, preventing pirates from moving into stanton 😉

Eventually you'll need larger ships to carry the smaller ships you want to use out in the far locations lol. Honestly gives a lot of legitimacy to exploration ships with their large fuel capacities

Please, for the love of all things holy, move away from the "blew my mind" titles. It conveys nothing about the content of the video nor does it set it apart from any other videos. Heck, you've got about 10 videos on this channel with almost exactly this same title. Put it in the thumbnail if you have to, but put a proper title on the video itself.

Being honest here - Out of everything I do: Concept, plan, record, edit, thumbnail and upload (and everything else not listed), writing a title is the most difficult for me. I'll do better, but it's hard not to stick to what works on the platform. Thanks for the feedback.
