Hey Mae, 💯 yes! Deep conditioning helps to stop your hair from thinning. As a matter of fact, if anyone is experiencing thinning of hair, they should deep condition more often. Deep conditioning helps to fill in your cuticles and forms layers around your cuticles making them thicker and stronger and resistant to breakage. Especially if you're using ayurvedic ingredients like fenugreek, amla, moringa, etc.. 😊❤️
I have a question about protective styles. I am curious about african threading twists as a protective for my daughter. What is your opinion about that as I know it can be used as a method for stretching your hair. If this is a healthy option is there a special type of thread to use to reduce breakage? And how long should it stay in that style?
@erikaparks397 Hey Erika! Yes African threading is a healthy option and safe if done properly. The nylon thread is glossy and gentle on your strands during the take down process. No rough bits to snag your strands. Also the nylon thread does not soak up hair oils and moisture. Acrylic yarn like the Brazilian wool can also retain moisture. I'm not too keen on the Cotton yarn as Cotton absorbs moisture from your hair leaving it dry causing breakage. How long to keep the style in depends on the type of thread used. Can be kept for up to 4 - 6 weeks with the nylon thread. Also more than 3 weeks with the Acrylic yarn. With the Cotton yarn, style should not stay more than a week. Hope this helps 😊❤️
