Took my 105 to Krown rust treatment for the full Monty. Jet wash everything then using their chemical spray everything underneath including inside chassis, sills rear qtrs. they might do doors too if requested. About £350 ish. They are in the west midlands. 3 months on and it looks just as good. Time will tell of course. Guaranteed for 2 years
Does it make any sense? I heard different opinions about rust treatment and have been thinking about it at the moment. Is there any sense in doing it locally without disconnecting the body from the chassis and removing all the rusty spots with the sandblasting?
Just dealing with all the rust on mine. Went with Bilt Hamber. It's a mammoth task to do well. Mine was rotten under those front arch liners. As well as boot floor stiffeners. And rear mudflap area.
@ It made sense to me as so don’t have any rust so it’s just a preventative coating. If I had rust I would want to sand it off, treat it with rust converter then paint the chassis. Then go for the crown treatment so they can spray inside the chassis and cavities as well as spraying the freshly painted chassis and underbody
I've had my rear all sorted, but I suspect the front arches are going to need some welding once they get scrubbed down. How did you tackle it? Did you do any welding?
@ no, not on the 105, imported it from Western Australia. No rust on it anywhere. But when I tackle the 60 in the spring it’s going to be a load of fun getting under there on the driveway and assorted flap discs etc
