    The Sapeoko/XCarve.. A fine and solid machine for wood, it can really push that router through heavy timbers but really not that great for metal at all.
    Edit: And yes, I own/use one, a heavly upgraded Shapoko 2/XCarve hybrid. Complete with Super PID controller for the router.

    Mate, get a vacuum system for that router, unless you want your little pieces of metals flying across the room.
    Maybe you could device some separator system so when you're cutting brass you get the pieces flung off the workpiece into a separate bag for brass, then switch the bag for aluminium when you're cutting that, etc. That way you can even remelt the little bits into ingots and make them round on the lathe for other uses. Heck, same goes for the lathe.

    Thank you for sharing that terrific video!!! Very well done!!! Question, why did you start with a pretty piece of round brass and then take it so far down to square? I realize you probably didn't have a piece of square brass...but it was nice seeing you display one of the many uses for a 4-jaw chuck. And from an old tool and die maker to you, if you grind just a very slight radius on your cutting tool tip, the surface will be a lot smoother and will require much less dressing. Thanks again for your nice video!

    Ok you've just added 1 more subscriber! Curious as to your intentions for the hole that you drilled thru directly above your logo/stamp horizontally, was that so you could heat the Brand up quicker with a torch when using it? Because I just had a thought but not to sure how often you use the stamp or how much it matters to you to look "uniform" on everything you do stamp it on, But if you where to somehow close up that hole at the end as well as make it a smaller bore size then by using a 3D printer Extruder Ceramic Heating Element you'd be able to finely tune your temperature & still get it heated up fast! Take a look on eBay you can get 40mm long 6.5mm dia Elements that are 110v & 200W & I'm sure if you looked a bit more you could find shorter ones or higher Watt & voltages.

    Is the big hole in the brass body behind the branding face functional or purely cosmetic ... or just because you could? Does it "do" anything re the use or performance? Just curious.

    • @markb8954
      @markb8954 3 года назад

      I would guess it helps the “block” heat up faster. Instead of a solid block, the torch flame heats up both inside & outside at the same time. So, id say functional.

    Create a TURBO RC, NITRO ENGINE

    • @phoobindustries8905
      @phoobindustries8905 7 лет назад

      You cannot add a turbo to a nitro engine. Just like for 2 strokes and 4 stroke engines.

    • @mandernachluca3774
      @mandernachluca3774 7 лет назад

      It's pretty much useless to turbocharge a 2 stroke ( especially one cylinder engines). If you know just a little about two strokes you will know that you have at a certain point in and outletports open. With this overlap and the right exhaust you can get quit a lot of air-fuel mixture into the cylinder ( because of certain resonance of exhaust gases in the expansion chamber). When you turbocharge a 2 stroke you will have pressure on the exhaustport , causing the exhaustgases to flow back into the cylinder( you don't want that) and you throw away the advantage of an expansion chamber. So all in all t is bullshit.

    • @mandernachluca3774
      @mandernachluca3774 7 лет назад

      You don't quit understand. The turbocharger behind the expansion chamber will produce a pressure zone in the expansion chamber. The whole function of a expansion chamber is to reflect a pressure wave (pressure wave is formed by opening exhaust-ports) and pushing fuel-air mixture that went into the exhaust back into the cylinder (effectiffly increasing volumetric efficiency and therefor the horsepower). This reflection can't occur when there already is a high pressure( with your factory expansion chamber). He would have two options:
      1. Creating a expansion chamber suited to put the turbocharger behind it.
      2. Somehow find out how to get right back-pressure with just the turbocharger.
      Otherwise either the exhaust gases are entering the cylinder (because of high exhaust pressure) or the higher pressure in the cylinder pushes out a higher amount of fuel-air mixture (wasted energy= huge powerloss). Either way it's just to much to ask for a guy that does this simply for fun. The time and effort that he would spent on this wouldn't be worth it. You can find some videos of guys turbocharging those 3 cylinder 2-strokes on snowmobiles.They usually use the method with the expansion chamber between cylinder and turbocharger (it is the easyest way when you have a proper expansionchamber). Trust me when i tell you, you will get more out of your money and time if you do some porting on the 2-Strokes.

    • @chrispychickin
      @chrispychickin 7 лет назад

      There are 2 strokes with turbos in existence (large diesel engines being one example), but the turbo is largely just to help with scavenging the combustion chamber rather than building boost in any significant way. They run some sort of valving in the exhaust port to allow this to work

    • @mandernachluca3774
      @mandernachluca3774 7 лет назад

      I don't know but i do know that there are high volume diesel engines with compressors out there (mostly used in trains or trucks).
