Great tutorial. I was having a hard time conceptualizing how this free arm hoop would work. Got it now. On the Bernina website, I was able to update my daughter’s 770 (the firmware update was online). But I didn’t see the 880 Plus firmware update there yet. Do you know when that firmware update will be on the website? Would love to use this but I think I need to wait on the firmware update, right?
I'm guessing that this would be a VERY useful hoop for embroidering on sweatshirts, t-shirts, and hoodies. Would just have to make sure that your pattern is oriented in the correct direction for the garment. And that it fits into the hoop dimensions.
Actually, the BERNINAS new 5 series through 8 series have free arm embroidery capabilities on all hoops. This hoop is for items that are nut in tube like form. Ones that have a sewn bottom.
@@BERNINAofNaperville Ah OK I get it now....like tote blanks. OK then a question.....If I'm embroidering a hoodie up by the collar, which way would "you" orient the bulk of the hoodie so as not to have the bulk impede the progress of the embroidery? My guess would be to insert the hooped hoodie so that the hoodie is on the right and laying behind the machine.

@@moniquegroom2353 yep that sounds right.
Pretty cool concept for this new hoop! What is the cost?
This is so cool. Have you heard anything about the 830 firmware? My customer portal downloads page still says it's being revised.
Yes it is still in development and the release was delayed
@@BERNINAofNaperville Thanks!
Yea
Why does it not stitch through both sides of the bag since hoop is in the middle of it?
Barb
The back of the bag is under the free em. The hoop bottom is inserted in the middle of the bag as I showed in the demo.
