Everything including a circus whistle in this song. Loved it for 45 years now.
They were the kings of moderation. You get the handclaps for exactly one bar, and then that's it. But they needed them right there, in that place, and nowhere else. Any other band might have carried on the handclapping much longer than was required. Supertramp knew what to do, and did it just the exact right amount.
Yes! And the wistle? Awesome!
It is so nice to see new generations listen to this classic song.
Missed you! Anything from this album is fire..."Take The Long Way Home" "Breakfast In America" "Goodbye Stranger" is a good start. This band is a bit like MJ...he was very meticulous in getting the right sound as is Supertramp.
My favorites out of all their great music is #1 The Logical Song, #2 The Long Way Home, & #3 Goodbye Stranger.
What I always took from this song was that it was about the loss of childhood innocence. When you are little, the world is new & magical. Everything is full of joy & wonder. But then you start to grow up, go to school where you learn from adults (& other kids) how to look at your world through different eyes. As you continue to mature, you become part of society & are expected to act, think, & say things a certain way. But deep down you are still an independent person with dreams, creative imagination, & opinions that might go "against the grain" of what you were taught and how others think. It's a song of trying to understand yourself & wanting to break free of conformity instead of being "just another brick in the wall" (as Pink Floyd said). The voices are amazing, but that saxophone is on FIRE! Music from the 70's & 80's & a little bit from the 90's is the only thing I listen to.
One of their best!
Welcome to the wonderful world of Supertramp, a band as essential as the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, the Who and Pink Floyd imho. So many hits! Goodbye stranger, Dreamers, Crime of the century, School, Child of Vision, Don’t leave me now, It’s raining again, Cannonball, Take the long way home, Give a little bit, Fool’s overture … The best description of their style I ever saw was “progressive pop”, truly unique.
The Logical Song is so sick 🔥
Best killer fade out ever!
Oh, take, take, take it yeah... best sax solo in a pop song
MY group. Still love Roger Hodgson to the maximum, Bloody Well Right is always my fav.. Still have their first 4 albums on vinyl, and they got played..
Welcome back Twon! Missed you, thanks for Supertramp, Love you!!
Saw these guys live back in the day. One of the best live concerts ever. Their sound was as good on stage as it is in the album! Fantastic group to explore
Supertramp were known for the sax. They had a few good albums and a couple of excellent albums (Crime of the Century and Breakfast In America). Those two I called excellent because all the songs in it are fantastic. My personal favourite is Hide In Your Shell.
It's stunning just stunning this came out when I was 17 my friends and I lives changed forever!!!
My fave Supertramp song! Love your reaction! You can see in your eyes how much you are enjoying it (especially when the sax begins)! This song came out in 1979, the year after I graduated high school.
P. S. The songwriter and singer is Roger Hodgson.
I'm really, really happy that you like this music.
She has never left my side since the first time, in 1977. She always amazes me. There is always a detail, something that still manages to amaze me, even after hundreds and hundreds of listens.
Supertramp is amazing. I hope you dig deep into their catalogue. The singer's name is Roger Hodgson.
Excellent! Supertramp always sounds like a circus!

Great to see 👀 you
Miss you ❗️
Welcome to this rabbit hole 🕳
For Your Nex Supertramp try
🎵 SCHOOL 🎵
The original version
Your gonna love this one too
Keep the good work my friend ✌️
Hope to see you soon 😊
This band had great hits.
the album cover shown is from a "best of" album, and the graphic simply combines visual elements from the covers of two of their most popular previous albums, Crime of the Century and Breakfast In America
Actually, THREE albums - the umbrella is a call back to Crisis? What Crisis?
@@Pixelologist aha yes, seems likely! good catch
I absolutely love your American reactions to music videos. You are so expressive in your reactions, and your facial expressions and movements give a rich commentary even before your words kick in. You are really sensitive to all the instruments and switch ups and probably my dull mind wouldn't isolate them at all, but when I listen to and watch your reaction, you bring them to my attention and I always enjoy the song afresh thanks to your lit reactions.
Good to see you! My fav is Goodbye Stranger…or maybe Take the Long Way Home…
can never make up my mind! Either way…love me some Tramp!! ❤️🔥🇨🇦
Seems you love that saxophone! Great tune, great group!
I heard this song when I was a child, I heard it many times on the radio and I remember also thinking it was a woman but growing up I saw the video clips of another song of Supertramp and The singer Roger Hudson singing and playing the piano... I immediately recognised his voice 'This must be Supertramp' i thought...his voice..
love it, it's so distinctive and beautiful.
The “album cover” here is a compilation of elements from a couple (or three) of Supertramp’s actual album covers. I think it was used on a “greatest hits” compilation, as I remember.
Definitely, the hand holding the OJ is from the gorgeous “Breakfast in America” album (where you’ll find “The Logical Song”), and the jail bars are from “Crime of the Century”, another masterpiece you should also hear from start to finish.
A song that makes sense, glad you got to enjoy it.
So many good songs on Breakfast in America!! My favorite is always Child of Vision!
my favorite was
Hey Twon ! Welcome to Supertramp. I was waiting for that sax part 😉
Welcome back! And starting with an amazing song. 👏
Hi!!! Lovd your reaction to the fantastic Supertramp's Logical Song!! A classic rock hit with a voice, a sax and lyrics that hit you in the heart. This song made me love Supertramp.
Please, continue reacting to such kind of bands that will always surprise you.
Best regards from Chile and luck in the soccer world cup! 🙂
Supertramp is a deep and fantastic rabbit hole!!!👍👍👌👌✌✌😁😁 I worked on one of Michael Jacksons videos. Paul McCartney introduced me to Michael on the last day of the shoot. Michael spoke very quietly and was super nice to me. I spoke with Michael about a year later and he was wearing a facemask. He just had his first cosmetic surgery and started altering his face!!!✌✌
Supertramp is one of my favorites
Saw supertramp & cheap trick in the 70s ...great concert!!!
Your reaction actually made me laugh out loud! I love it :D
I had their albums back in the day. To me they are so different and remind me of Queen on how unique their sound is. They use every kind of instrument they can find. Many more songs of theirs to review.
from the time the internet didn't exist and the newly born synthesizers were used by musicians who also had to be sound engineers. The first reaction was thus translated by increasingly brilliant groups, twirling music, music that frightened the sound palette like a painter on a canvas. The diversity of sounds, due to the diversity of registers, means that the art of music has never been so flourishing. Supertramp one of my favorite bands is one of them. Mixing wind instruments, guitar, percussion, nascent synths and all this without electronic assistance or voice corrector. Thank you for discovering the music of old.
So missed you !!!
❤ great song!!!!
*MISS YOU, BRUH! KEEP 'EM COMIN, CUZ YOUR REACTIONS ARE 🔥! BE WELL, AND BE GREAT!*
💪🏾👊🏾😎
Look for "the making of the logical song" while in the studio recording the vocals and sax solo.
One of the best songs!
Great to see ya 😍
Welcome back friend 🤗❣️🤗
That Sax tho!!!!❤❤ If you want to hear a crazy Sax listen to Boots Randolph's "Yackety Sax"
You really can't go wrong with anything by Supertramp. Always top-notch songwriting, musicianship, and production. I've always kinda put them in the same category as Steely Dan. Let me recommend the next track on this album, "Goodbye Stranger". Probably my favorite song of theirs.
After watching your reaction to this song, I was curious and went to the official video to see what was happening with all the sounds. Its very interesting :) You should go and check it out :D
Hey! So nice to see you again! Love Supertramp, have had the pleasure of seeing a number of times. Great band! #nolimittwon
I love the sax in Supertramp as well. Bloody Well Right is another great one from them where the sax is perfect.
Nice work. Keep rocking.
My favourite track ⭐️

SUPERTRAMP, "LOGICAL LOGICAL SONG". more Groovy music from those Far Out 70's. Roger Hodgson sang this classic. Really good too have you back sir. More SUPERTRAMP,,, "SCHOOL", "CRIME OF THE CENTURY", Another Band to give a listen too if so desire. TRAFFIC, singing "DEAR MR. FANTASY", and "THE LOW SPARK OF HIGH HEELED BOYS". THEN the Band YES, doing.. "ROUNDABOUT", and "STARSHIP TROOPER" . Peace ✌
To understand the cover, look at the album covers for all of their albums. It's part of a series.
Great reaction. Ain't nothin' better than some great sax.
I haven't heard this in a while and I forgot what a tight freaking Arrangement that is and how fascinating that sex is. I forgot how integrated all the layers are it's so tight. And it's so fun. This came out when I was in high school and I did buy that Breakfast in America album which it looks to me like that greatest hits album thumbnail we were saying it looks like they're handing a drink out through some bars or my thought was it looks like he's reaching up through a sewer great, but what it is it's from the front album cover of this album that it's on, breakfast in america. There's a lot going on in that image but at some point there's a waitress and she's got a tray up really high or something and somehow there's a drink up there on it and I'm pretty sure it's referencing that without actually going and looking. Got to be.
And it's funny, I didn't think much about his voice being like a super high thin tenor at that time and I was into all kinds of super heavy stuff concurrent with it like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath and Lynyrd Skynyrd and all that kind of thing, but it was on the radio all the time before I even bought the album and so I guess I just saw it as another sound in the exploding kind of rock pop landscape at that time. And so British as well just a very British kind of sound.
And this definitely overlapped with the Bee Gees but in my mind, his voice is high and thin and yeah it almost sounds a bit feminate sometimes, but the guy actually has really good resonance and he can super project when he wants to. It wasn't just always the fluffy falsetto that the Bee Gees were known for. It's just his voice. And he's really good at complicated verbal delivery and he's pitch perfect and he's funky and rhythmic when he wants to be and all that kind of thing.
Good to have you back!!
Great review and Supertramp are amazing.
Thanks Twon!!
Gotta love this!
Glad your back.
Missed you☮️
I got y’all man💯❤️
Love this song. Welcome back!!😊
Glad you're back!
70s distilled into a fine liquor.
The difference between Roger Hodgson's vocals and Barry Gibb's is that Barry was singing falsetto while Roger isn't - he simply has a naturally higher range.
Try Hazel O’Connor “Will You” for Sax.
best reaction ever 🐾
Don't stop, just listen. That was the intention.
That's a banger family,,
I would love for you to react to Rod Stewart - This Old Heart of Mine - singing it with Ronald Isley (from the Isley Brothers band) Its an awesome song. You will love it, I guarantee it :D
Great reaction!👍
You gotta do Child of vision, best song on Breakfast in America.
Great reaction.
My favourite is Lord is it Mine 🥰
@@AprilStorm777 The album is a masterpiece.
Definitely one of the best ever made.
Great reaction.
Haven't seen you in a while, great choice!
Good music my brother....they have more hits....they 🔥
If you haven't already. See if you can find Kenny G. He plays the saxophone.
❤️❤️❤️
You might enjoy Rivers of Nihil- Where Owls Know My Name.
one two three FIVE
☮️💙💙💙
If you like saxophone you should listen to Gerry Rafferty Baker Street
More albums the supertramp please
These people were some audio magazine's rave back in the day for production quality, heck, perfection as that is what the magazine focused on. At the time, I couldn't appreciate that and stayed away. But once I got past that stupidity, I was convinced that this was the work of craftsmen of the highest order like my beloved Deep Purple or Led Zeppelin of that era. Great choice! Want Saxophone? Try Pink Floyd's Dark Side Of The Moon! Many great Saxophone sections throughout that album.
(LA Leakers Ray Vaughn) ( LA Leakers Ray Vaughn)(LA Leakers Ray Vaughn) BARS, BARS, BARS, BARS, Don't 💤😴 sleep on this reaction.. Peace ✌️.......
🍸👍
"I know it sounds absurd... but please tell me who I am."
Some mad sax

Hey Twon, take my foo fighters request off the list. I'd rather you hear "urgent" by foreigner. It has some killer sax too. Thanks 👍
Please react to:
Meatloaf - For Crying Out Loud (Greatest Love Song Ever)
Mary Chapin Carpenter - I Feel Lucky (Just fun)
nu shooz should i i say yes
Michael was set up mate...you've only got to listen to what Mark Lester, (the kid who played Oliver in the movie) Aaron Carter and Macauley Culkin have to say about Micheal Jackson...I always knew he was set up. R.I.P. Michael...😞
Love this song! It explains wokeism and authoritarianism way before we knew how devastating it would be.
Not sure you truly understand the song, They tell you to get educated, then they insult you by calling you woke, because your education opens your eyes to the whole world, And the educated man understands their place in it among others, and the uneducated man insults him for it... And yes, authoritarianism is bad for us all so you got that part right
It has nothing to do with wokeism. He even complains the bureaucrats are calling him a liberal and a radical.
I think this is a ridiculous analysis. But I like the song.
You are doing what scooter did 10 years ago but much bader
Broke rule #1 of music reactions: Don't *EVER* pause during a solo
