      It really is so true! 🥰 It makes me sad when people spend so much money on classes and still feel frustrated! It takes practice and time to find your own preference for consistency!

    I LOVE THIS! I can't tell you how many times I counted to 12, 15, 17, or 20, but them I watched one of your video's a week or two ago and the best piece of advice I could take from you was to NOT COUNT and just FEEL the icing. Oh my gosh. My cookies have gotten SO much better since then. Even my husband noticed! I'm not nearly as good as you yet (and don't be modest and say you aren't!), but I'm well on my way and I'm going to keep watching you to keep my cookies improving. THANKS SO MUCH!

    Bestie! Never apologize for giving freely of your time and space. You’re giving the best description to me and I haven’t even started yet. Giving exact details in regards to this hobby? Lifestyle! Yeah it’s a lifestyle, will not work, because there are just too many variables. Thank you from the very bottom of my little baking heart for ALL that you do. ps. I paused the video @10:42 to say this, because I didn’t want to forget. Now shhh I am watching a video! ;)

    While I love watching your videos for all the tips and tricks and knowledge I really love watching them because it makes me feel better about my lack of being able to find a word for some thing like when you said I double like this it was so cute. Or trying to find the correct words for the lines squiggly curly wavy I am so much that person especially if I’m doing a talk to text and I’m trying to think of a word that I’m trying to say and so it comes out discombobulated but as usual I love you love your videos you were just the cutest.

      I love that!!! 💓 Doing voiceovers and talking to the camera while I work is something I really struggle with and I have realized that all I can do is be me! I don’t have time to plan or script and when I do it just feels too forced! I’m so happy to know that I can be myself and still be accepted by my Cookie Family! ❤️❤️
      Thank you so much for sharing that with me! It makes me feel so much better and gives me so much confidence! Thanks for sharing how we are similar 🥰🥰 I’m so grateful for people like you who have such kind and inspiring things to comment for me!

    Everytime I watch this video I learn something new, or am reminded of a detail I had forgotten. I'm trying to get a consistency that I can use to outline on top of a flood and it doesn't "melt" into the flood. I'm guessing #1 is the best. And trying the loops on the practice sheet is great. I've been making "test" cookies to try the consistency and to see if the flood is crusted over enough.

    Love the video!! My problem is when I use the tip less bags I get a tiny clump at the beginning and ending of a line.. why is that? Or I get a break in the line! Is that a bubble or air in the bag?

  • @Lmeberly
    @Lmeberly 5 месяцев назад

    Hi Beka- I've been following you on FB for a while now. Love your videos! I have watched numerous videos on consistency which I think I have mastered for the most part, but no matter how carefully I cut my bag, I cannot get a clean cut across. I always flatten the bag at the tip and cut across the seam (not with the seam) but it looks slightly concave. I've tried cutting with the seam and then cutting across it but of course, that just makes the hole bigger than I want. Sometimes I'll do the opposite just to get rid of the dip. I've tried ALL sorts of sizes and types of scissors thinking they were the issue, but all have the same result. I have bought different bags too but it doesn't matter. It's very frustrating as I see how people are cutting the tip and it's completely straight and their piping lines are thin and perfect. Any suggestions so that my hole is small enough to pipe thin lines but straight across? I just recently decided to use a #1 piping tip and I can finally get the results I've been trying for, but it just stumps me how something so simple keeps tripping me up. Oh and even when I cut a larger hole the cut is still concave and not clean across.

    So, you outlined that last cookie with #2…did you flood with #4? I think that’s the consistency I usually flood with.

      Great helpful video. I bake for gifts, not for business but i want my work to be so perfect someone wants to pay me 😊 this was very helpful and i loved the tip of getting a coloring book to practice on. All themes just became available!! I have 9 great lil nieces and nephews and I think I’m gonna have them outline their favorite coloring book picture and I’ll duplicate trace that and transfer it to a cake top for them ❤ they will go nuts to see their work on a cake!

    Very informative video. However, I’m still a little confused as to how exactly you know you’re at the number five consistency. You didn’t do a “seconds” count or show a type of ribbon drip. All you said was at this consistency. Any helpful hints as to what exactly we should be on the lookout for to know we’re at this consistency?
