The easy way would be to ziptie/tape them to the stock linear antenna plastic housings. They fold anyway and the patches and ufl cables can fold with them, no more worrying about sma wearing out. For this method you can even go with the longer and more powerful X2 air. I heard that Truerc can custom-make them with ufl.

Hey! I'm using this personally with all my short to medium range O3/DJI drones (Stock antenna), and my dedicated long range drone here with 2 LHCP antennas into a DJI O3: ruclips.net/video/3-O5fAq0m5M/видео.htmlsi=RY8pzNlPKu_RIElK
for this kind of upgrade in dji integra what kind of antennae used in the o3 unit system ? Then really this informative video thanks for 3d print design
Hi I personally used two tbs long range triumph pro lhcp . www.team-blacksheep.com/products/prod:triumph_pro_lsma_lr you would also need two ufl to sma adapters. But any long reputable lhcp antenna with ufl will do too.
@@hknight007 it's a perfect match, so technically it will work very nice, like a modded goggles v2. As for better signal, I do not know. Main thing is don't go behind any objects and make sure you have good antenna placement where it does not get blocked when you turn your quad.
Melt the plastic with a soldering iron (this is why you probably own that weller 140w soldering iron not knowing ever using it, but for some reason have it)
Hey thanks for a great video! I tried to repeat the same step and unfortunately failed. stl files have to be slightly fixed before using but I don't have 3d modeling experience :(
Thank you for the video! Just what ive been looking for :) 2 questions if you have a sec: 1. With this setup can you use any analog SMA antennas you already have for the digital signal? 2. Seems like most aftermarket o3 air unit antennas are LHCP. As long as they match the receiver can you use 2x 5.8gh RHCP antennas on the o3 with the same style SMA adapters? (I know the default is a 2.4gh rc and 5.8gh video. I dont use the DJI rc link) Thanks in advance! Excited to try this out
Hi! For me, Yes. I’m matching to LHCP antennas on my drones. Such as the TBS Triumph Pro and iflight albatross on my chimera and prototype frames. and all the drones that use vista too!!! I think if matched with o3 stock antenna will not perform as well, but I think still ok for short to medium ish range! (1-5km) will test soon!
No I use tbs, but I recently installed ELRS but haven’t played with it yet. Default is really low. I think like 25mw. Try going in your transmitter menu and turning up the power to 100w to start.
Appreciate the video, I did the mod following your guide however I don't notice any real improvement, I did kind of expect that and im sure in some situations the range will be better, but I guess because of where I usually fly its unable to really push it any further, I wanted to do the mod just because and I really want to learn and understand how to get more range but I think alot of it is just flying LOS and not behind stuff, thats how you get range but I guess adding better antennas at this point isnt really going to increase your penetration enough to make a difference compared to stock let me know if Im wrong, either way thanks again for the awesome tutorial, maybe i'll try some other antennas in the future :)
Thanks for trying it! I agree with all your points! I think everyone is going to have different results for sure. There’s a myriad of factors at play which makes it so interesting. The downside to my own setup (LHCP on drone and goggles) is I can’t fly drones equipped with stock o3 antenna as far anymore. Noticeably they have been performing a bit worse. But when flying matching antenna on both drone and goggles, it’s definitely most important thing I think is no blind spots with the antenna (position it correctly where it can never be blocked), and no interference (nice rural area without too much signals) and no obstructions between you and the drone, like trees and mountains.
@@PattyFlipz theres so many things I don't know and I learned a bit more lastnight, going to try changing some settings and see what happens, I usually fly in a area with alot of obstructions and signals, I was also suggested to try the X²-AIR 5.8 MK II, have you tried any other antennas yet?
Hello, I am a beginner in Korea I have a patch antenna. Which antenna should I buy separately for the video? I use O3 air unit, and the receiver uses ELRS
Hi all I can confirm so far is it’s in normal operation. Here is a flight that I sent it as far as the battery would allow me and still had enough signal to keep going. But I turned around because I want my drone back. ruclips.net/video/dxSvBEjHxo4/видео.html But according to another sub he has confirmed he went 9km with stock integra goggles and a carefully placed stock o3 antenna. Anyway do what you need to do! 😂 I feel like the total LHCP set up may have better penetration or signal going around a few objects though. 👍
LHCP in your goggles will work with the stock o3 antenna too but maybe not as efficient as the stock goggle antenna and will be a bit of signal loss possibly. Be the best if you change it on the quads end to match, where LHCP is more common options for sure. Good luck
Hi, good question!! I don't think it is, the GPS seem to have other wires going into it coming from the left side. The blue and white wires with U.FL goes under the gps, but seems to be reaching for the front of the goggles. Who knows I might be wrong though! @@PattyFlipzFor the error, according to my research, GPS is only used when you use DJI drones and therefore remote ID. So i don't think the goggles check for GPS if not needed.

Hi, no it’s not going to help a ton with more penetration and I would never risk it. any obstruction, going around a valley, then behind some trees, even 1 or 2 , losing line of sight, then exploring behind metal bridge, and water will be a disaster cause that signal is being reflecting all over the place + obstruction!
