In this video I'm testing Moza Racing's SR P Lite Brake Performance kit. The kit is meant for the SR P Lite pedals only, and not the SRP pedals. The SR P Lite pedals are included in the R5 bundle.

Thanks so much Mike, as I have mentioned before that this "bundle" is made for someone like me budget wise. And I personally have great respect for Fanatec as a company. But boy, MOZA are really giving them a run for their money. It's quite frankly almost the "hardware" version of RSS vs VRC. ; )))
Thanks Michael!! Yeah, Moza has had a GREAT year
This video deserves more views and likes! Thanks so much for your insight and demoing of the pedal upgrade! I'm new to sim racing but, I might just be picking this kit up for my r5 pedals. Some people have mentioned that the spring is too strong. What are you thoughts on that?
Yea, definitely think getting the brake mod and clutch for the extra $70 is well worth it. Will be doing the R5 bundle with that upgrade kit.
Thank you for the review, Mike. I'm surprised they perform this well even without a loadcell. And this is what I thought. When a pedal has a spring+hard rubber assembly, it gives it a non-linear resistance. So if the sensor is accurate enough, can you also adjust the pedal signal curve to match the resistance? Wouldn't it make it work closer to a loadcell? Or am I reinventing the wheel and it's what people do already?
i think that moza software leave you to touch it. did you use it with table clamp? or cockpit? i cant buy cockpit now because space and im trying to read comments about people using it without cockpit. being the best pedal before load cell, as some channel said, it is interesting in my case
@@MisterLoLesp I'm using regular SR-P pedals (not Lite) with a wheel stand. I strap my chair to it so it doesn't roll backwards :D It's okay and quite sturdy, although it made me realise that I definitely want a proper, rigid rig.
Honestly, the build quality of the pedals are good but functionality I thought they were pretty bad. I upgraded from the G923. I will say the pedals on the G923 felt considerably better in game than the Moza did out of the box they just floated with no resistance at all.
With or without the mod kit? Ik considering going from G923 to R5 bundle.
@ without the mod kit. The build qualities is actually really good on them. It’s just that out of the box they have absolutely no resistance whatsoever. They’re a very solid set of petals after the mod kit and better than the G923. But I would recommend getting the brake mod and a throttle mod. AliExpress actually has a really nice hydraulic throttle mod for around $40 but there are some cheaper ones for around $25-$30. They even make a two stage clutch mod that has a bite point. You could probably get around the throttle in the beginning but the brake mod is a must and eventually I would definitely get a throttle mod as well.
I just bought this bundle in the UK the pedals are good quality compared to my T3PA pros but i had the conical brake mod and desperately need this mod so ordered it, im in the UK and the mod plus shipping is nearly £40 as it has to come from moza in china, which i think its too much money for the mod, it should be in the bundle from scratch even if the price was say £15 more for the bundle, i think its an easy way for them to make an extra £30 out of someone in aftersales, other than this minor gripe i absolutely love my R5 wheel
Great review cheers! Are you in Vancouver?
Could taking of the rubber stopper? Would removing the rubber work for the acceleration?
why would you do that tho?
hi. what is your opinion of using a DD like r5 with table clamp? i have a g29 and would like to make an upgrade. a huge upgrade in fact, because now DD are really accessible. but i have no space for cockpit now until i finish studios and move to my own house. in a couple of years. or maybe finishing to study leave me to change my desk. but that is the future. so now, my options are keeping g29 or buying a better wheel, that has to be this DD, or fanatec. so, have you read, or tried this pack with table clamp?
does the brake works nice? stiffer than g29, or better, the stiff zone seems to be earlier and easier to brake consistently, but soft enough to use it just against the wall, and not sliding wheels from chair, wheels braked, which are enough to resist the g29 brake more than 100%. to move the wheels, i have to brake so hard that the pedals were rising from the floor, so i think they could resist stiffer brake
i feel g29 brakes too stiff, because it is only that finish stage, and i may not be used to that resistance, and it is very strange to go from very soft to very stiff. so, any good experience with this DD, and this brake without cockpit? and does that rubber has a better transition from soft to stiff?
I got the r9 with the moza gs wheel but kept my tm t lcm pedals
I just bought the R5 it hasn’t arrived yet and I’m coming off of a G923. What I just noticed and honestly, I don’t know how I didn’t notice this before there is pretty much no floor board with those petals. don’t know if I like that I guess I’ll have to see
how did you adjust to them? im upgrading from the g923 and i think being able to adjust to using the moza pedals after using logitech for 4 years is my biggest concern
@ so I was actually wrong. There is a floorboard that comes with them and I ended up liking the R5 so much that a couple months later I upgraded to the R 12. So I have an R5 for sale.😂
@@steffendetrick haha wow awesome to hear that im too excited to try it out!! i know ill prob be doing the same thing in a years time 🤣
Does your srp lite pedal stay connected in pit house? My pedals only show connected when I hit the gas or brake then immediately disconnects after I let go of gas or brake. Is that normal?
Hey man, This is going to be my first wheel ever and I have been having a bit of buyers remorse because I've been told that I should have gotten the CSL DD or the R9. People have been telling me that The wheelbase cause clipping when playing ACC and the R9 solves that issue. I was just wondering what your thoughts are on how well these wheels play?
I bought it because Im trying to get into sim racing and wanted something better than the Logitech G29-923 and since its a DD wheelbase it should be better than those. Thats why Im confused that this wheel causes clipping but lots of people play ACC with the G29.
What are your thoughts on how the Moza R5 plays? Will it be good for learning to sim race? I already have it coming in the mail on wednesday and the whole point to buy it was because I didnt want to break the budget. I also picked it because it looks pretty cool. Maybe I will get the R9 in 6 months to a year but what do you think as far as starting on it to learn to race?
Hey! The R5 is great. Sure, there are better wheel bases on the market, but as a budget-friendly option, it’s hard to beat. It’s a massive step up from the G923. I can almost guarantee that in the first hour or so of using it, you’ll fall in love. I like to say that going from belt or gear drive to DD is like going from 360p to 1080p. You can never go back.
I flipped the release sequence, so my R5 Bundle review is already out if you’re interested in watching it: ruclips.net/video/UawtHC61Jxo/видео.html

@@vsm1456 fixed. Thanks!
in assetto corsa in which option of particles do i activate the sparks? are there many options there?
I'm glad to see Moza doing this. But, at some level, I'm sad that they didn't just include it with the bundle itself (or agree to do so at a lesser price, like, say $10). If they're going to compete and stand out amongst the big boys, they need products that are fantastic out of the box, not products which require a bunch of mods and accessories in order to reach their potential. And, while Fanatec and Thrustmaster are equally guilty of this practice as well, it shouldn't be an industry-wide accepted practice.
I think that’s an excellent point. It would be great if they had something like a “R5+ Bundle” with the brake mod and the formula wheel add on. Maybe ~$50 more?
@@SimRacing604, yeah that would be brilliant! Honestly, I think it would probably outsell the R5 bundle.
Can you get a spring for the gas ? Seems a little sloppy too.
use the one in the brake pedal if you got the upgrade kit feel much better on the gas
I bought this upgrade but has turned out to be a downgrade for me - I stupidly forgot that I cant mount my pedals to anything so now the whole pedal set lifts when I use the brake :(
Oh no! Well, whenever you are able to upgrade your rig, it’ll be a bonus for you to upgrade your pedals simultaneously
I ordered mine Sunday and now here it is Wednesday and it still says "processing" did anyone else have this problem?
That’s pretty standard. That happened to me when I ordered my shifter. The overall process including processing, shipping, border inspection etc was about 3.5 weeks, and 2 of those weeks were spent waiting for the order to be processed
@@SimRacing604 well it would be nice if they alluded to that on some level when you read their page it says in stock shipping in 3 to 7 days the site makes it seem like you're going to be able to order it and in less than 10 days it'll be at your house. That kind of sucks thank you for taking the time to respond thank you very much and have a blessed day
@@chrono2959 Yea way too long imo. I ordered a bundle from Axon in Burnaby/Richmond, BC on Sunday evening and it was on my doorstep Wednesday morning.
Came to $856.00(CAD) including taxes and Purolator delivery to the Island.
@@jonproctor3739 geesh. thats expensive I think mine would like 565.00 total. Did you get the clutch pedal and Brake mod? Ordered mine separate I think the emergency brake is going to be the next thing I get
Would this be an upgrade or downgrade from a TLCM?
Roughly on par, but I’d give a slight advantage to the TLCM.
@@SimRacing604 thank you buddy!
Where can i get that car? 😍
and i thought G29 pedals felt better
Not better than a load cell pedals, okay. But surely not worse?
