Appreciate the tip on orienting the valve covers. 😀 Liked watching Cammage minimize the damage by being neat with the plug wires; with any kind of wiring, neatness goes a long ways to preventing problems. Yes, it is best to have the plug wires touch as little as possible. 👍Some folks don't understand the possibility of inductive crossfire, and I honestly don't know how often it happens. Better to prevent it than to troubleshoot it. 😖
For sure
Always use helical (spiral 🙄) core wires.
Good job and enjoy having Cam on this one
Old Cam is pretty cool, isn't he?
Thanks. You gave me a few ideas for my engine. 👍👍👍
Glad I could help
I ran into the same problems, with air cleaner and fuel lines. Your air filter looks a little high to clear the hood, second to prevent the gas line interfering with distributor, I turned the fuel line from the carb and ran the fuel line behind the engine.
It's honestly kind of funny I had never thought about turning the fuel line toward the back what a great idea
Hard to get from that fuel pump to carb on that circuitous route. Exposes a lot more heat and the fan air doesn't blow on it.
Just thinking...
Have several chrome air cleaners and a black one like yours. You want them! My engines look so much better with the Dark Ford Blue air cleaner. Plug wires are always black. None of these yellow, blue, or red wires and I once did yellow when younger. Valve covers are fine along with Ford Cobra black aluminum covers with the bare aluminum top ribs as on my 68 Cougar. Standard Ford blue covers for the 68 Mustang. Black engines aren't my favorite as I like to see when an oil leak develop sooner than later. So a Ford 3.0 will be painted medium gray. All six of my cars run Pertronix II via a relay system, I make, which puts full voltage to the plugs.
Yep, black is a terrible color for an engine. I like twist-on caps for my valve covers, not push-in grommets.
I like my blue ignition wires on my SBF. I hope those exhaust manifolds were given a high-temp coating (POR 15 is the best)...
Right on
Nicely done, I like the look
Thank you!
The lid would look nice with an factory checkered flag/engine size sticker on it. Yes i also like the look of a Duty engine.
We are going to be using the Ford Checkered Flag 302 air cleaner badge
Looks great
Thanks!
What was put on the threads of the oil pressure sensor tube/extender? Thanks. Good work as usual.
Automotive thread sealer
Had no idea the Hi Po manifolds were available. Way, back in the day I wrecked my '65 Mustang GT, so I swapped the engine into a '67 Mustang with a stick. Didn't know where to find these exhaust manifolds at, so I went down to JC Penney's and ordered a set of A/FX headers for 75 bucks. Ahhh, the good old days! Now, about the Mach 1?
Yes National Parts Depot stocks them although I are having problems with finding the correct longer bolts for these manifolds
Hi I’m from Australia is there a power window kit I can buy for my falcon xy 71?
Not that I could find
Geez Cam....and I used to love yah brother! Now you want to give me a Hot Wheel????!!!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Superconductor
While I'm sure that engine looks awesome in person. When you put a black engine into a black engine bay. Something is gonna disappear. IMO.
Exactly.
That could be true but I'm doing what the owner wants
You need a 13-inch air cleaner.
Honestly if I had put the Ford 14 in Element air cleaner on there it wouldn't be an issue. But they don't make that air cleaner in anything but Chrome.

YeeeeHaaaaw!!!! 😎
You can do that but I didn't have one available locally
You guys are amateurs. All that green screen could have been used to have any of hundreds of movie sharks chomping on Cam as he worked. Tsk tsk, I say.
We thought about that or dancing naked ladies in the background but that probably would have gotten us flagged by RUclips so probably best to just stick with the green screen green screen LOL
Hey Jeff, I can't remember the part# but there is another option on the cap if you like the male cap it's an international distributor cap.. fits the stock application small with male spikes.. even uses the same rotor.. I'm sure someone here or maybe you might know the part number an weirdly in stock at AZ an O'Reilly, an Advanced, NAPA..
I tried to find that cap as well and could not. If anyone on here knows the part number for that cap please post it up and we'll put it in the description
