As someone who has given birth just 1 year ago with no pain meds or epidural, I do believe the experience was empowering, I've never felt like more of a superwoman than after the birth. But I wouldn't set your expectations up for it to be pain free, and I'm not sure that removing all pain from birth is necessarily the goal. The pain would guide me around what position I should move into to help the baby move, or exactly when I should push and when I should stop. 2 mantras that I kept repeating during contractions that really helped me were "this pain can't kill you" meaning this pain comes from within, and its purposeful. It's helping to move the baby along and it also gives you signals about what you should do. It's not like the pain of a disease or a car accident which is inflicted upon you and serves no good purpose. And the other mantra was "ok you never have to do THAT contraction again" So I would visualize that there were a finite number of contractions that I would have to get through. And once I moved through one contraction, I could "cross it off the list" and know that it's behind me. And finally I found the best way to move through contractions is to close your eyes and meditate / breath through them. Visualize whatever helps, move in whatever way feels right. But staying calm and breathing through contractions. I hope this helps 🙏
I had an intense first trimester too, pretty sure it was HG but only lasted about half the pregnancy thank goodness. Vomiting multiple times a day, fainting, couldn’t eat much so lost weight, food aversion, heightened sense of smell, and that mental battle. It was so hard but so worth it !
It’s so nice to hear you talk about this and be able to relate. Currently 10 weeks and really struggling at work with the fainting and nausea, but I feel like I’m starting to get better. Can’t wait to be in the 2nd trimester! Thanks for sharing 💚
I’m getting ready to start trying for a baby and this is SO helpful. I’ve followed you for a long time & we are the same age - I’m thrilled you are making pregnancy content. Looking forward to more videos! ❤
Thank you, Rohini! I feel lucky that one day, when I am pregnant, I will have your resources and musings to learn from 💗 sending all the wonderful warm wishes and hugs your way!
Interesting how you said you’re so connected to your body and that felt bad the 1st trimester when you’re feeling horrible. I realized this 2nd pregnancy that I subconsciously disconnect from my body for weeks bc I have hg. Then work really hard to reconnect w my body once I feel better. The first pregnancy I felt so guilty about disconnecting but this one I realized it’s survival. Surrender, it’s my big theme of pregnancy and postpartum. Hope the rest is easy for you!
Also HIGHLY recommend Ina Mays guide to breastfeeding if you want to bf. It’s really from a natural pov and I don’t think I would have been successful in bfing without it.
Real food for pregnancy was my favorite source for nutrition! I used a lot of similar things that you did. Looking back my essentials were a water bottle, large exercise ball ( also great for when baby comes to bounce to sleep!!), comfortable below bump pants and a pregnancy pillow. Sounds like you’re in a really good mind space for your pregnancy 😊 if you want any registry/ baby must have suggestions lmk!
Love the video and feeling like I’m not so alone going through this wild time. I’m in my 18th week and feeling my little girl flutter around in there for the first time :) Second trimester is a joy and I can’t wait to continue watching your pregnancy vids!!
Hi Rohini good morning happy Wednesday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
I have, thank you angel!!! It's in a pile of books in storage so I totally forgot to mention it :o I'm actually seeing the Farm Midwives for my midwifery care! Soooo cool and surreal to be there after reading her books
My mom said she had massive cravings for liverwurst sandwiches with red onions and mustard. Massive, like every day, breakfast lunch and dinner-then it went away entirely. Prolly needed some iron 😆
First off congratulations, I am so happy for you and Sage. Motherhood is such a wonderful blessing and I couldn't be more excited for the both of you. Ya'll will be such wonderful parents and I'm looking forward to more content. In your video you mentioned that your period was at a good point before you got pregnant. I was wondering if you could share what books, if any, that you have read to help with your period? Or any resources you used to help you. I have a three year old and after pregnancy my hormones have been off balance, and I have constant infections (Bacterial Vaginosis). I am also suffering from PMDD. Apologies if this is a little TMI but I have had this for almost two years now and I am desperately trying to fix this on my own since my doctor can not. Any info would help thank you :)
Hi love! Thank you for your sweet words. Absolutely! The things that helped me the most were finding a wonderful naturopath, and eating grass fed red meat regularly. A naturopath that can also do a blood panel for you is super helpful, because they can check it against a holistic standard - mine told me that if I had gone to a normal doctor they would have said everything was in the 'normal' range. But normal doesn't necessarily mean healthy or optimal! She was able to suggest diet changes and natural supplements (often that were made from liver and organ meat - super great for the cycle!) and I felt better super quickly! I love following Maddie Smiles on insta, she shares a lot of great cycle tips as well. I would highly recommend this supplement as well - shop.heartandsoil.co/products/her-package :) Best of luck angel! you got this
Thank for sharing your beautiful pregnancy journey! I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby. 🤗🩵Could you maybe provide a link or list to your baby registry?

You’re pregnant with boy 😂❤
hablas demasiado y no muestras ninguno de tus síntomas como los mareos o vómitos. realmente aburres demasiado, dices cosas que cualquiera puede decir.
Thank for sharing your beautiful pregnancy journey! I am 12 weeks pregnant with my first baby. 🤗🩵Could you maybe provide a link or list to your baby registry?
