I’ve had this sitting in my trunk for years and finally hooked it up and it actually worked. THANK YOU!!! Only issue is none of my buttons on the stereo or steering wheel work at all...
You need an adapter wire harness for the steering wheel to radio. Your oem radio would connect but is gone now
You would need a LC2i converter to keep your steering wheel controls
@@imurleader22 good to know, thank you both
Sooooooo glad you did this video, very well done, easy to follow. I have all the stuff I took out of my old car and was hesitant to mess around with the interior of this one but this video is going to make it so much easier, thank you!
Thanks for the help man! It was a pain in the but to get that power cable inside the car
I just came across one of these amps, actually this is my first time ever installing a system.
Could You Explain All the settings on this amp in detail?
Great video! How did you keep the steering wheel controls functioning after the install? Mine no longer works :-(
You need a steering wheel control interface to keep those working here: www.sonicelectronix.com/item_68038_Axxess-ASWC-1-Steering-Wheel-Control-Adapter.html Use coupon code ProvoBeast to save 5% off at checkout.
Hi there! I know that I’m super late here but I’m currently looking and a 2011 Elantra and happened across your video when looking for help on this exact kind of scenario. My only question is; is the car able to support the subs/amp by itself or do I NEED an aftermarket kit?
And I see that my question has been answered a couple comments down. Disregard lol
I always had trouble finding an access point for the 12v through the firewall. Maybe use a little bit of rtv or in weld to fully close the hole in the gromet incase you hit a puddle or drive in the rain
hey, great video btw👍 i just got a 2014 hyundai elantra and i really want to get some subs but i don't really know too much about brands and installation. what do you think would be a good set up for my car that isn't gonna cost over $350?
Go to www.sonicelectronix.com and look under their subwoofer package options, they will give great advise on what you are looking for. Use coupon code ProvoBeast for 5% off.
Do you happen to have the wiring diagram? Because I tried to do it to my 2011 Hyundai Elantra and everything seemed well until I tested it out and it didn’t work. So idk why I did wrong, maybe I spliced the wrong wires. So if you can please help me out? I can’t find anything online.
Should I need to purchase an aftermarket stereo
What did your other blue and green wires on the power side connect too? Can you explain that?
Thank you
What was the yellow and purple plug on the back
i have a 2014 and i’m wondering how much different it would be so hook it all up
Hey provo! A bit of a late comment, but I'm moving my 2 10-inch Alpine W10S4 subwoofers and JL Amp into my Elantra. Will the Elantra's stock alternator be able to handle the power drain from 2 of these subwoofers or should I just install only 1?
Did you use any dark kit for this? I'm trying to install a double din on the exact same car thanks great video also :)
+Josue Valadez Be sure to see part one, see the description for the link to that video. That video in its description also includes the parts i used for a double din install. That should have all you would need for an install.
What size screws did u use behind the seat to hold up your amp
Thanks a lot for this video, its well explanatory but I have a question for you.
There is one little red wire on the amp, in between the power cable and the ground. What is that wire for?
+Emeka Stanley The remote turn on wire. When the key / stereo is turned on, it tell s the amp to turn on as well. It just essentially a trigger wire to ensure the amp is on when the car is running.
Get a off and on switch thats for remote usually its blue but thats ok if its red it still should say remote on the amp between the power and negative
Hi, loved the video, I have a 2009 Hyundai elantra, I've already installed a new Kenwood radio but I now want to install an amp. is there any difference in installation? this video was for a 2011. thank you in advance.
A slight difference, but between the years there isn't much difference. You can use the elements in the video to your own install and be just fine.
The only difference I can see *might* be battery placement, but I don't think it'll be more than a few inches. I've got a 2010 Elantra which is the same generation as the 09, I'm looking to do something like this and there's very little difference on the interior that I can see.
I have a 2007 Elantra SE, it has the volume controls on the steering wheel, I'm about to install my aftermarket pioneer and hook my amplifier and subs up to it but after reading online I'm hearing that I may run into an issue with the BCM triggering to car to be in a "no start" mode due to it sensing a higher voltage draw than normal. Is this something you ran into with this model?
I just picked up a 2013 Hyundai Elantra and want to move my system outta my truck to the car. I got a set of 12's and a 3000 watt amp. Will the default battery hold up under load? Or should I look into replacing the battery? Also, is the default standard deck any good with a custom system? Thanks. :)
Casey W not the alternator though
PLEASE MAKE THIS FOR HYUNDAI VELOSTERS!
im a total noob, does every amp require battery connection?
where do i find all of these wire informations for my car (old hyundai i20 from 2011)
thanks for helping in advance :) have a nice day!
Yes, every amplifier requires a battery, ground, RCA, remote wire, and speaker output connection.
What drill bit size did you use to drill the hole through the grommet? Gread vid by the way.
I think it was a 3/8" size, but really can vary depending on the gauge of wire you are planning to run.
Thanks big brother
How much does a service like this cost?
Have you ever put a sound system in a 2012 Hyundai sonata hybrid?
Hi. Would you be able to provide the color coding for the speaker wires on the factory harness so i can connect my LOC?
Do I have to get an aftermarket stereo for a sub to work?
Nope, you can actually use a line out converter and retain your factory radio.
Does that specific amp do a good job giving power to the sub?
its good for subs between 300-500 watts rms. Don't know how well it would perform with anything else.
What radio did u use just curious
Do I need to change the stereo to an aftermarket one or can I keep the factory stereo in?
you can keep the factory radio, you will just need a line out converter to provide a signal to your amplifier. If your amp also has a "high level speaker input", a line out converter isn't necessary and you can wire your amp directly to the speaker outputs of the radio.
I have a DD amp 2 channel what wires do I need? Thanks for the help btw
If you want a good quality amp kit, i recommend our sponsors 4 gauge kit here: www.nvx.com/xkit42-4-gauge-amplifier-kit-with-2-channel-rca/

How is the sub and amp holding up?
Not sure, this wasn't a personal vehicle.
I'm having troubles with the amp not giving out any output. The fuses are fine, and everything is wired correctly but there's no kick. I'm trying to run 2 12" subs in a ported box, any idea why it might not be working?
Check your impedance load on your amplifier. how are your 2 12's wired? What amp, what subs? It sounds like a poor wiring configuration.
I’m having the same trouble, I’m wiring two 12” kickers and it’s all wired in correctly but the amp doesn’t seem to turn on nor do I have any kick
oh why did you skip over the RCA connection. That's the hardest part.
How do you know where to drill to make sure you aren’t gonna go through any wires?
Check on both ends of the grommet to ensure you are safe. Next, you can use a screw driver / sharp tool to puncture a hole first to make sure you are clear before you drill the hole bigger.
Thanks for the reply, installing a sub this weekend so we shall see how it goes
How do you wire in the RCA jacks
What settings on the amp would you recommend? I have it hooked up to a kicker 12" comp r
It's in a 2009 Nissan Altima. I just can't figure what settings and everything I should use on it.
Change the crossovers to the Low Pass Filter (LPF) and set the frequency to around 80hz. Set your gain sensitivity to around 10 o'clock conservatively. If your amp has a bass boost, try not to use it to begin with until your amp is tuned to avoid distortion.
Okay, thank you!
hi, i have a 2012 gls and i was wondering if i could ask you a couple general questions about this install. would you be able to contact me?
Feel free to go to the facebook page and submit messages there: facebook.com/ProvoBeastAudioInstallation/?fref=ts
If I am only running one Sub Speaker, do I need to use both Left and Right audio In?
Depends on the amplifier you use. Generally, both left and right are summed into one channel for mono amplifiers, so, depending on the radio and the amp you use, i'd still run a 2 channel RCA pair as most radio's support it and amplifiers accepts it.
Is there a possibility that you can connect a amp and sub to stock radio
Yep, you would just need a line out converter in most cases to generate the signal for your amp. We have quite a few videos on our channel showing how thats done.
Provo Beast Audio Installation could you help me with finding which is positive and negative on 2018 elantra? I can't find any wiring diagram for a line out converter, I want to do it right. Thanks
What radio deck are you using?
See the description for the radio install video with that info!
where do i connect the ground wire
How do you remove those Panel's where you used the tucking method?
Use a panel tool and find where the clips are and apply a small bit of pressure, they should pop free.
Do you know if I am able to hook up my Fosgate amp and sub to the factory stereo at all in my 2010 Sonata? I have obviously not pulled the deck out to look and see if it has RCA inputs
99% of factory radios on the market do not have RCA outputs on them (excluding some toyota / scion units made by pioneer). You still can yes, but you will need generally a line out converter which connects into factory speakers wires providing a signal to your amplifier.
Please Help me!!! I have a 2012 hyundai Elantra gls. I installed a 600w sub and amp. When the car isnt moving the sub plays fine but when i start driving the sub fades out (not completely but noticeable). All my connections are strong including my ground, i even installed a back up battery in the trunk but the issue still persist. Someone please help me.
Sounds like a voltage issue with charging. Make sure your primary battery is healthy, that your wire gauge is heavy enough.
Provo Beast Audio Installation Thanks, i'll try it. I'll also give you an update
I checked my Battery and charging system (alternator) they are both good. I lowered my back seat to see exactly what the amp is doing when im moving. When the car moves the amp shuts off and on repeatedly to the point that the sub can't play efficiently. I took a video of it if you have a way for me to send it to you
Sounds like a short. You can upload it to messenger on our facebook page.
I figured it out. It was a bad remote wire connection. Thanks, Shit was driving me nuts
What about fuse my amp came with all the same stuff and a fuse do I need to use it?
Always use a fuse. In the event of a short, you avoid a fire. Fuses typically should be about 6-18" away from the battery.
Can you do it with a stock radio?
Sure can with the use of a "line out converter". You would just tap into the factory speaker wiring output of the radio to a line out converter, and you can provide your amplifier the signal it needs.
Will I need a whole other wiring harness?
