FYI during the audio for the testing segment of the video I was using the DJI Mic 2 that came with the creator combo... I must have been using it wrong because I think it sounded like trash.
You were pondering what to get next but I don't know what gear you already have. Have you considered doing a desk setup video? I couldn't find one just now when I browsed through your video library, and I would find that interesting.
For moving video and vlogging the DJI OSMO 3 is the winner for me because of the great stabilisation and easy to use and minimalistic concept. For stationary table-youtubers I would buy other stuff.

User error with the Pocket 3. You need to go to -.7 exposure compensation. Also, set the max iso of 3200. Also turn sharpening and noise reduction to -1. Lastly, make sure you are in 10 bit color which is only available in h265 codec.
Well, I think a lot of people will just take it out of the box and start shooting with it, so the quality in this video reflects that. I thought the settings looked fine outside... what you'd hope for. But yeah, indoors with the stock settings it didn't look great.
@@aesric when i got my a6500, i was told to tweak a ton of settings too. so what's the difference? when i'm out traveling or filming family stuff, i don't want a bulky a6500, i pull my pocket 3 for that.

Great video! I had a hard time telling the outside shots between the Sony and Samsung but once you got to lowlight I could immediately tell which was which lol

Just ordered the pocket 3 and after watching your very well made and complete video, I am happy with my choice. I plan to use it for travelling thus as good as the Sony is, I am not going to get a big camera like that. And when compared with the phone, I think the OP3 wins it easy. Will just use the phone for photos (since OP3 is only 9mp), and for navigation and other uses, saving up my phone battery. Thanks for the video.
I think that's a good call. It's awesome for traveling due to the size... and nobody really notices it... Where when you bust out the big camera, it just attracts attention that you don't always want, not to mention the weight is annoying and you just don't want to use it. Let me know what you think if you remember once you get it!
I got a used Sony 10-18mm for vlogging for ZV-E1. It’s been good and lightweight. I returned the DJI 3 too. I thought i could replace the ZV-E1 with it but didn’t like what I saw on auto vs. iPhone 15 Pro Max.
That sounds like a fun lens, good call. I might have to keep my eyes peeled for one. So are you rocking an iPhone Max? The Pocket 3 is fun to play with but not sure the trick would still be neat months from now. For some it would but for what I'm doing... meh.

Stick with the Sony ? It depends ! The ZV 1 + gimble = pretty noticeable set up. Good luck filming with that now days when everyone is screaming about his rights. The Dji P3 is small with unorthodox design and the people on the streets can barely recognize, that this is actually a camera and they are less afraid that you are trying to steal their souls with that black thing in your hands.....talking of course about the Pocket 3 😉 And the quality from the P3 is totally on par with the other cameras around 2000€ Of course my opinion is based on people like me: NON professionall-hobby- amateur videographer !
putting the kid to work, i used to have to mow the lawn and do yard work in my day lol another great review! i was thinking of getting the pocket 3 but i also have the new iPhone so idk if its worth it.

It's not a bad idea... but the overall weight of that setup would make me not really not want to lug it around you know? The Pocket 3 is just so portable and works so well.... with that being said I don't really take that with me either so maybe a gimbal would be more fun to use with better results for when I DO want that effect.
@thesahdstudio for all footage moving around house even, you could incorporate more moving vids to make the channel have some variation maybe. 500 grams zihyun m2s. I think with zv1 it's got great potential the footage from it is top level, Unstable footage destroys whatever it can do image quality wise. I think 500 gram gimball to have the highest possible quality footage, Is not too bad. And for special occasions and kids stuff you could use your zv1 then like an action cam. Top quality action cam memories of your kids. Get one used they are also not expensive
I had the Pocket 3 and ended up returning it too. I didn’t love the gimbal for when you want to change the shot from yourself to another person quickly during a vlog. I found myself missing shots because I was fighting the gimbal too much. It’s such a fragile item that I never actually put it in my pocket and keeping it in the carrying case means you really have to decide ahead of time when you are going to film. Not ideal for getting shots here and there of your day. I would also worry about getting it wet. I ended up getting a great deal on an Action 4 and it solves all the problems of the Pocket 3 but at the expense of image quality and low light performance. If only they could put the internals of the pocket in the Action 5, it would absolutely be the perfect camera for me.
Interesting... and yeah I know exactly what you mean about missing those shots and fighting with the mechanism. You can change the speed but that's a hassle. It's a neat trick that it's got and for some people it'd be cool, but not for me. I haven't really looked into the Action cams at all, maybe I should. I'm only going to be using those when I'm outdoors so I'm not worried about the low light.
Sony is best. Obviously. Samsung phone is great with a selfie stick outside. DJI is overpriced. Might as well return it, sell your Samsung phone and buy a new phone with the extra money you save.

Thanks! Honestly they are very different. The zve1 feels like a newer generation of camera with loads of extra features in the newer menus.

Why don't you get a small gimball for zv1. Zihyun m3s is a lovely gimball..
