I would have happily watched you do the service, currently sat on maternity ward waiting for my son to make his entrance into the world. I need content to keep me entertained 😂
Wow that was a really premature belt change on that but typical that the pump was leaking.I watched another RUclipsr doing the same job but didn,t replace the pump and he instantly regretted it haha.He reckoned it was something else...WRONG haha. Why film yourself making a huge mistake. At least you do the jobs correctly Baz.Well done as always. Also EGR,s on those engines are an instant fail and expensive too.
Cracking job as usual Baz, your attention to detail in unmatched. No short cuts. @Baz did you get chance to look at your diary for an appointment? thanks
i just changed my 1.8t water pump as it was leaking, didnt bother with a belt kit as i put an INA one in there 2 years ago, got it all back together to find the bearing in something whineing like a mad man, refused to touch it that day again, the worst part of the 1.8t is getting the mount out!!
I had 2 injectors come out on a customers engine when I used to be a mechanic. It was one of these engines. Bolt had snapped holding down the clamp. Do you know if this is a common thing on these? Thanks
I’ve always found when you get a new non genuine timings kit, they always come with new bearing studs. But when you order a new kit from TPS so OEM VAG, they don’t come with and replacement studs. 😂 Have you ever changed the oil pump wet belt while doing the timing kit as your half way there so may as well do it kind of thing? 😂 All the best 👍🏻
Evening Baz. Hope the new year is treating you well. I am hoping to further my diagnostic skills this year and was wondering if you have heard of a good diagnosis courses/ workshops that might be useful. Cheers! 🍻

Im currently using haynes pro but the drawings of the instructions looks much better on all data. What do you recommend ? Staying with haynes pro or switch to all data ?
Alldata is OEM information so what the dealers see that's what you get, been using it a few months now and I'm happy with it I've also got Haynes (e3) and also alldata.. I was a big autodata fan but alldata is now my go to
Very tidy job Baz. When you have the innards partially stripped it is foolish not to change things like water pumps and any other ancillary parts that are prone to failure. Another text book tutorial with the essential Baz wisdom mixed in 👍😎
Fantastic Job Baz and sooo much easier than the chain on the Vauxhall diesel the other day….🥴

Question when do you need to replace the oil pump wet belt for this engine? that is the belt that goes throw the oil sump.
I don't think that there is a factory change interval.

@bazmeredith off the subject can I ask you about something
They are never a problem if the nut is torqued to spec. It's only when they are overtightened they cause problems
Ticking away like a singer sewing machine 🤙🤙🤙
Is there any special procedure to bleed the fuel system after disconnecting fuel filter housing or you just fire it up?
@@nemanjakerezovic3560 no fuel leaked out so I wasn't to worried about bleeding the system, but yes there is a procedure when replacing the fuel filter ect
You need a decent diag tool with guided functions to activate the pump/vent the system
