Came out nice Mr. Bob! The new handle with the grain toasted really sets it off! Good stuff

Excellent job! That 1x30 makes quick work of putting an edge on anything! 😃👍

Thanks, yes that little sander is super handy. The 40 grit belt made short work of modifying the new handle. Seems under 40 tends to burn quickly on hardwood at least.

I always enjoy watching you in action and the great explanations you give for easy understanding by illustrations as well.
    Always incredible results Brother 💯❤️‍🔥🙏🏻🤟🏻🇺🇸

Thanks so much! This turned out a really nice hatchet. I ended up putting it in my camp kit.

That came out nice, Bob. I have a Plumb Boy Scout axe head I found buried under some stuff (and a little patina) on my workbench that needs a handle. It seems like nobody carries good handles anymore in the local lumber yards and home centers and I didn't find any last week at Jacktown.

Thank you! Im lucky to have a small hardware store just up the road from me that carries a nice selection of wood handles. They are getting hard to find around here. I have made a couple out of oak. Its not the wood of choice but what I had on hand. The one I used was a little big. Thankfully my little belt sander with a 40 grit belt made short work of scaling it down.

Thank you, hard to see because I had to screen shot the video for a before pic since I always forget to take a good close up, lol.

Thanks, I was tripping up my words and thought a visual would help explain what was in my head, lol.

Thanks, I just leaned about that a couple years ago. This one probably would have been ok. Its where the grain doesnt go all the way up that will snap right off. I had a couple shovels do that. Might as well have been perforated it popped so easily.
