That's really cool at how much they cared about community, the house for the widows, the elderly, and the hospital. The whole city looks very cozy and inviting!

It goes to show how much money they had too as a trade hub that they could afford to do that. The women’s community was self sufficient though which is pretty cool too!

How was the Christmas market? and how was the food in Bruges?

The Christmas market was cute! It was a little small but pretty. The food was good too. We mostly snacked but you can’t go wrong with fries, waffles, and chocolate. 🍫🍟🧇😊

What month were you in Bruges? What is the best spring month to go there?

We were there towards the end of November. May is usually a good time to visit Europe since it’s starting to be warmer but not too crowded yet 😊

Except it's really called Brugge (Bridges) as it's a Flemish city so the people speak Dutch and Bruges is what the French call it.

I think lots of places have a different names in different languages. I believe Bruges is what we call it in English as well but I understand there is a history with the French so maybe Brugge is preferred? Either way that’s good to know. Thanks for sharing 😊
